SHINEDOWN: New Video Interview Posted Online - Aug. 16, 2012
On July 10, PureGrainTV's Julie Hagemans conducted an interview with vocalist Brent Smith and drummer Barry Kerch of the Jacksonville, Florida-based hard rock/post-grunge band SHINEDOWN at the Koool Haus in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. You can now watch the chat below.

SHINEDOWN's latest album, "Amaryllis", was released earlier this year and made a #1 chart debut on Billboard's Rock Albums chart, and a #4 debut on The Billboard 200.

The CD's first single, "Bully", hit #1 at rock radio, marking SHINEDOWN's seventh consecutive chart-topper at the format.

"Amaryllis", sold 106,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release.

SHINEDOWN landed the biggest debut of its career in July 2008 when its third album, "The Sound Of Madness", sold 50,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at No. 8 on the Billboard Top 200. This marked the first Top 10 album of the band's career.

The million-selling "The Sound Of Madness" yielded six chart-topping singles like "Second Chance", "Devour", "If You Only Knew" and the title track. It debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200, spending 120 weeks on the album chart.

Damn i'm original. Anyhoo, in today's world of the internet it is extremely challenging for a rock/metal band to be successful. So many obstacles. Very little radio support. Changing music tastes. No video support. People want to rock, they,re just pulled in different directions. Shinedown is one of those bands that will still be around in 10 years, because they have all the right ingredients. They have the songs, and they work hard. Yes they have had their overly commercial moments, but so have most of the great bands. I,m not saying they're one of the greats but they can still make their mark.
