LYNCH MOB: 'Slow Drag' Video Released - Aug. 15, 2012
"Slow Drag", the new video from LYNCH MOB, can be seen below. The clip was shot on June 29 in Houston, Texas with renowned film producer W. Ross Wells of Zen Film. While in Houston, the band was also filmed for an upcoming episode of "Live From Sugar Hill", a rare all-acoustic performance shot at Sugar Hill Studios by Grammy producer Dan Workman and Zen Film. "Live From Sugar Hill" is sponsored by Vitamin Water/Coca Cola, and will air sometime in mid-August.

"Slow Drag" comes off the band's four-song EP, "Sound Mountain Sessions", which was released on August 7 via Rat Pak Records.

According to a press release, "Sound Mountain Sessions" is a straight-forward, gritty, well-polished American hard rock offering that truly captures the magic of the genre. It's got bite, it's got soul, and lyrically, Oni Logan holds nothing back on this one! The effort was recorded in the traditional "old-school" way, with the bandmembers having locked themselves into Sound Mountain Studios for a week straight and putting their ideas in the capable engineering hands of Chris "The Wizard" Collier. With nothing more than the desert rats as their audience, a steady intake of ramen noodles, and their passion for rock and roll, the band gave birth to "Sound Mountain Sessions", an EP that rivals their previous work from the early years. Another fantastic element about these new songs is the addition of bassist Robbie Crane, who brings solid grooves and melodic backing vocals to each track (a little known fact: Robbie was actually the very first bass player of LYNCH MOB!). George Lynch does what George Lynch has always done best in this amazing release — he plugs in his guitar and then taps into the universal energy that only the elite guitar gods have access to....and delivers the goods. You are not looking for another "Wicked Sensation", you are looking for "Sound Mountain Sessions", a powerful EP that introduces you to the next chapter / best chapter yet, of these legendary rockers.

"Sound Mountain Sessions" track listing:

01. Slow Drag
02. World Of Chance
03. City Of Freedom
04. Sucka

LYNCH MOB has tapped Brian Tichy (WHITESNAKE) as its new touring drummer for the upcoming summer shows in support of the band's new release.

LYNCH MOB 2012 is:

Oni Logan - vocals
George Lynch - guitar
Robbie Crane - bass
Brian Tichy - drums

I have trouble keeping up with these guys. It was Lynch Mob, then Dokken was getting back together, then it was Tooth and Nail, then they got sued and had to call it T&N, and now it’s Lynch Mob again. All like within the last year. Being a metal head is not as easy as it looks…

Yah this tune smokes and reminds a lot of people of the first album Wicked Sensation with Oni of course. Lynch is simply on fire with his last 4 releases and it's too bad this is only 4 tunes. With Tichy and Robbie Crane this is the best Mob lineup by far.
I see the Badlands vibe and of course a lot of you know George tried desperately to recruit Ray Gillen but ended up recording Flesh And Blood with Ray on his 1993 release Sacred Groove. Killer fucking tune as well. \m/LYNCH\m/

I almost always enjoy GL music. He is one of my favorite guitarist. When he is on a roll like he is right now, he is on fire.

I still am a huge Bandlands fan. Bandlands was the hottest band when they formed. Every record company was trying to sign them. Jake E Lee and guys were great live. Their first few shows were a feeling out process, but when they hit their stride, they rocked it hard.

Problem was the record company had unrealistic expecations for them. Never gave them a chance to build a strong fan base. Another great band that was not given a chance to live up to those expecations.

Really would love to see Mr. Lee come back.

Agreed Dioforever. I think Atlantic records were the absolute worst at marekting their bands and Badlands were no exception. Testament, Savatage, Kix and Badlands all deserved better fates and could have benefitted from a different perspective as far as management and support go. Badlands is still one of my favorite bands and the first album is a classic. I also loved Dusk even though it was largely recorded in one take.

Yes Jake needs to record as right now he is playing with a band in Las Vegas and i think there are vids of that on Youtube somewhere.

First, this is a great although short EP. George and Oni can create some great music. Although, I would love to hear some of Oni's other stuff in their live sets, like something from the Logan/Robertson material.

And, I am a huge Badlands fan and "slow Drag" definitely has that feel to it.

I loved the last LM album...very underrated. This sounds like a solid step forward for the Oni Logan/George Lynch team. Very Badlands-esque. Brian Tichy is one bad ass drummer. He keeps very busy...his performance on the last Whitesnake album was spot on.

I have to hop on the Badlands bandwagon too...damn fine band. I can't imagine how good they must have been live...jamming and groovin. Kudos to everyone acknowledging the awesomeness of Badlands.

AmazonMP3 is making a killing off of me lately...
