'Bon Scott - The Legend of AC/DC' Film In The Works - Aug. 11, 2012
High Voltage Productions, an American production company, has begun pre-production development of an upcoming proposed docu-drama entitled "Bon Scott - The Legend Of AC/DC" as of March of this year. This announcement comes on the heels of a prior announcement back in 2008 that an Australian production company was beginning development of a similar project that has not yet materialized. This project hopes to be the first of its kind.

The screenplay for the film is being written by American singer/writer Rob Liotti who has portrayed Bon Scott for a number of years in his tribute band TNT (see video below) and has wowed thousands of AC/DC fans with his uncanny performances. Liotti is also slated to take on the starring role in the film portraying the late Aussie frontman. One could equate his performance in similarity to what tribute singer Tim "Ripper" Owens did for JUDAS PRIEST.

The plot of the docu-drama is said to examine an integral time period within AC/DC's history as Bon Scott helped to catapult AC/DC to international stardom, but never really got to enjoy the fruits of his labor — even sometimes dealing with bouts of extreme loneliness and isolationism — and ultimately culminating in his untimely death by misadventure in 1980.

"There are a lot of challenges with a project of this type," Liotti said. "One of the biggest challenges is authenticity. This is an American production of an ostensibly Australian-based story. Therefore, dialect is highly important, as well as capturing the true dynamic of the band and its members. Moreover, the Australians claim 'ownership' of the band and Bon Scott, so there are high expectations to be met from the outset. But it is a story that is viable and deserves to be told."

With AC/DC's 40th anniversary coming up and now annual events paying homage to the late Scott, millions of AC/DC fans worldwide are seething for a film of this type so that they might personally explore what has made AC/DC one of the most successful rock bands in history and their late singer an Australian icon.

I've heard some good, spot-on vocal impressions of Bon Scott and this isn't one of them.

This is a non story. The dude's resemblance to Bon Scott is not uncanny, it's nonexistent. I've seen three guys that are miles closer. Even the chick from HELL'S BELLES could give this guy a run for his money.
The idea for a Bon Scott movie is fine if the budget was large and the talent was there, but this is just some dude shooting off emails from his mom's garage.
...don't hold your breath.

I don't know about the rest of you but that was fairly weak. And he's gonna do a movie. I'll buy it, watch it, whatever, but I have been warned. Good Luck to you Mr. Liotti, but remember some of us have read quite a bit about Bon. And our standards are high. As you will agree, Bon the "gutter poet", was without equal when it came down to dirty, balls to the wall hard rock. Please do not let us down.

...Thats right RiotAct, thats right.

Bon was the ultimate frontman, I still like Brian Johnson and his first 3 discs with AC/DC, but Brian is no fucking Bon Scott and even he would admit that.

**If You Want Blood is probably the greatest live disc ever!!!

This guy looks and moves more like an Elvis impersonator than a Bon Scott impersonator.

A thourough documentary on Bon and AC DC would be ok, but too many of these attempts leave out detail fans want and focus on the hype and drama to appeal to 'everyone' (I fear that'll be the case with 'Last Days Here', but at least it includes Bobby and bandmates) . Same for a Hollywood film.

Any hack can make a movie/doco these days, it might get a few views on Youtube.

that part about comparing this to "what tribute singer Tim 'Ripper' Owens' did for Judas Priest". Ripper didn't do anything for Judas Priest until they hired him, and then he sang his version of the old songs plus recorded two new albums with Priest. What exactly has Rob Liotti done for AC/DC? Do you think they will hire him when Brian Johnson retires? Dream on.

I would rather see a new documentary with real Bon footage. Bon Scott was 100% rock n roll. If you don't like Bon , you don't like rock.

BTW- 'in the works'?!? Blabbermouth is there no press release you won't pump out without the slightest fact check?
There will be another GnR record out before this piece of shit movie shoots one frame.
