SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor passed out onstage during a performance in Dallas last month, an incident which was attributed to heat exhaustion.

According to Taylor, he has no memory of the episode, which happened after the last song of the band's set as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.

"I basically blacked out for the last two songs, but I finished the show," Taylor tells Fuse in a brand new interview (see video below). "I have no memory of the last two songs. I woke up backstage with an oxygen mask on and Chris Fehn [SLIPKNOT percussionist] taking my shoes off — which is very weird — and my wife making sure I was okay. And I immediately started freaking out, thinking, 'Oh my God, we had to cut the show short.' And she was like, 'No, you finished it.' And I was like, 'Excuse me, I did what?' That's terrifying in a weird way. It makes me go back and think, 'How many other shows have I finished where I have no idea what happened?'"

Taylor also shared his theory as to why he blacked out in the first place. "It was really hot to begin with, but because we use so much fire and we're in these buildings that are shaped so the heat doesn't dissipate, it all really builds up," he said. "And because we're firing off propane, it eats up a lot of the oxygen on the stage. This is all what I've put together."

Corey isn't the only member of SLIPKNOT to have some medical trouble around the Mayhem tour. SLIPKNOT guitarist Jim Root had to drop out of the trek's first few shows due to a burst appendix. In Root's absence, the band's other guitarist, Mick Thomson, had been doing double duty on his and Root's guitar parts.

Root had been feeling ill for several weeks before learning that his appendix had burst, a condition which could have been life-threatening. Percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan told The Pulse Of Radio he was glad it happened before Root went on tour "I'm happy that he decided to stay home for a little bit, because if it would have happened out here, I don't know what would have happened," he said. "If it would have burst in the middle of the set, he might have fallen over and died right there. I don't know, you know, I don't want to think about it 'cause it didn't happen that way."

SLIPKNOT's stint on the Mayhem tour was the band's first U.S. trek since the May 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray.

The group will next headline Knotfest, two festival dates put together by the band itself on August 17 in Council Bluffs, Iowa and August 18 in Somerset, Wisconsin.

SLIPKNOT will tentatively enter the studio sometime in early 2013 to begin recording its fifth album. In the meantime, a greatest-hits collection called "Antennas To Hell" arrived on July 24.
