BLUT AUS NORD: '777 – Cosmosophy' Trailer Released - Aug. 7, 2012
"777 - Cosmosophy", the third part of BLUT AUS NORD's "777" trilogy, will be released on September 21 via Debemur Morti Productions. It will be made available as a six-panel digipack CD and gatefold 12-inch vinyl LP. The CD was recorded, mixed and mastered at Earthsound Studio and features artwork which was created as a collaboration between Metastazis and Dehn Sora.

"777 - Cosmosophy" track listing:

01. Epitome XIV
02. Epitome XV
03. Epitome XVI
04. Epitome XVII
05. Epitome XVIII

Originating in 1994 from the ashes of VLAD (who released two demos), BLUT AUS NORD are undisputable French black metal pioneers, always managing to progress and move forward, evolving in perpetual mutation, developing their own vision of black metal. Choosing, from the start, the total opposite path of regressive bands (who copy what others have done ten years earlier and ten times better), BLUT AUS NORD eschews all the inherent clichés belonging to the genre.

BLUT AUS NORD's black metal approach is a fist in the face of mainstream mediocrity, becoming more macabre and sinister through a blend of innovative musical research, subliminal mental manipulation, and an incredible haunted, nightmarish feeling based on disharmony. BLUT AUS NORD are creators of a hallucinogenic universe, erasing all preconceived ideas of black metal — and extreme music in general. They redefine the rules.

very disappointing - they need more upside down crosses, corpse paint and lyrics about Stan.

Who's Stan??? You might want to try actually listening to Blut's artistic & experimental metal. Then again, it might be beyond your comprehension.

It's a good thing they change their approach from time to time because they always have exactly the same guitar and drum machine sounds. That being said, it makes them immediately identifiable whether they're set on being melodic or horrid.

Last album I bought was Mort, but nonetheless are these guys the only good metal coming from France (forget about Gojira). And this is coming from a French bloke.

Yeah well... Overmars, Bloody Sign (RIP), Supuration/SUP... yes there's more good bands but it's very underground. Nothing on the Gojira or even BAN level of popularity, that I'm sure about.

I fucking hate black metal. The corpse paint and other visuals, the anally-raped screeching vocals, the sophomoric lyrics, the upper register minor chords, the production... It's laughable bullshit.

Blut Aus Nord isn't like that. I'm not even convinced they are black metal and, other than the bleakness of the compositions, in some cases they seem just the opposite. Even the title of their piece "Procession of Dead Clowns" seems to poke fun at the panda metal douchebags out there. Their music is emotive, never predictable, and DIFFERENT.

This band rules.

BAN are barely even 'black metal' at this point. The last two albums were amazing, especially 'The Desanctification' which made my Top 10 of 2011. Can't wait for the new one,

Just found this on the Wiki page:

Vindsval, the vocalist and guitarist, made the following statement:
“Blut Aus Nord is an artistic concept. We don’t need to belong to a specific category of people to exist. If black metal is just this subversive feeling and not a basic musical style, then Blut Aus Nord is a black metal act. But if we have to be compared to all these childish satanic clowns, please let us work outwards [from] this pathetic circus. This form of art deserves something else than these mediocre bands and their old music composed 10 years before by someone else."

There are also a lot of thought-provoking comments on their YouTube vids, along with the fact that the lyrics are not made public. Black metal? Hahaha.

Anyone who shits on a genre of metal without A, a good godamn reason and B, displaying what type of music they follow and why is a pussy piece of shit
You dont like blackmetal, thats your fuckin problem,
there are alot of good black metal bands out there that kick ass and work their asses off, blut aus nord always puts out a good effort..
And theres no such thing as a bit or a little, theyre still in the blackmetal genre....again people who piss on things and dont display there personal likes and reasons to back it up are expendable

To jim siedow:

I'm assuming you're referring to my post, since I made some disparaging comments about panda bands. Actually, A) I gave reasons why and B) my taste in music has nothing to do with the sucking sounds emanating from most BM (black metal or bowel movement, you choose) bands.

And, yes, they work their asses off. At the ol' Burger Hut, when they should be home practicing their guitars and cleaning their rooms like mom said.

Pussy? Expendable? Lemme guess, if it ain't kvlt, you ain't interested, right?
