BLAZE BAYLEY: North American Tour Canceled - Aug. 5, 2012
British heavy metal vocalist Blaze Bayley (IRON MAIDEN, WOLFSBANE) has canceled his previously announced North American tour.

Commented Blaze: "It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that my planned tour of the U.S. and Canada in September is cancelled.

"I am so sorry. Due to circumstances beyond my control the tour could not go ahead. I can't go into too many details because of possible litigation but I can say that the agent that booked my last U.S. tour will not be booking the next one. Work will now start on plans to tour U.S. and Canada in 2013 and beyond. I will try to play more towns and cities than ever before and announce the venue details as soon as they are confirmed.

"If there is a venue near you that puts on live music and you would like to see me play there, please send details and contact info. I will pass them on to my new agent so he can try to include your venue on the tour.

"Thank you for you understanding and thank you for your belief and the support you have given me. I will see you all in 2013."

Bayley's new studio album, "The King Of Metal", was released in March. The CD was recorded at Fear Studio in Ravenna, Italy.

The 49-year-old Bayley, who was born in Birmingham, was the original frontman in WOLFSBANE, but left in 1994 to replace Bruce Dickinson as the lead singer of IRON MAIDEN.

That's an insult to Di'Anno.

Paul Di'Anno was on two all-time classic albums that launched Iron Maiden's career and made it possible for them to lure an elite talent like Dickinson. Don't think for a minute he would have left Samsom to join Maiden if Maiden were still playing local bar gigs.

Di'Anno has a right to play the Maiden songs that launched his own career, and he's already recorded several albums of new material since.

Uhhh, yeah, I'm not on about Mr Dianno's contribution from 30 odd years ago, CLASSIC rock albums which should be in any self-respecting music fan's collection.

I was thinking more along the lines that they are both slap-heads, fat, skint and cancel American tours. Bless 'em...

Yes, let's just laugh at the way he looks.

Or listen to his solo material? I'd say that 75% of the solo songs he has put out this last decade hit the mark.

Blaze: an underrated metal artist of the last decade.

Light ticket sales+lighter wallet=Heavy heart.

Blaze fronting Maiden, from the get-go till now, just seems like a dismal failure in every capacity.
Just a bad idea which ain't becoming a good idea any time soon.
He had a decent thing going w/WOLFSBANE, too.
Something Bruce would never, ever say: "Singing for Maiden sucks. I wish I were back in bloody TRUST!"

...Not Blaze. and I'm glad that he joined Maiden because he and the band made a fantastic metal record with X Factor...It's in my top 30 albums of all-times. By the way, Blaze in not a mediocre singer...just not the right one for Iron Maiden.

Good move at getting rid of who ya had. Blaze came to our town and the venue didn't have his name on the billboard. This is shit like this that these managers need to put in contracts to protect the artist. Even I was pissed and what the fuck do I care? It's not my career. No adds no promotion nothing. There are so many outlets to promote yourself now I can't believe there is only 50 people at these shows.

Blaze fucking tore shit up that night by the way.

He didn't realize that premium acts like Hammerfall are lucky to play to 500 people here in the states and his act would never fetch him even enough to pay the expenses of touring.

He should try the Paul Di'Anno strategy -- hire a local Iron Maiden tribute band, have them bring all the gear, and you just show up and collect the largest check. Genius move by Fat Paulie by the way, why work when you can collect disability checks and get another band to pay all the expenses?

It's strange how the careers of both Di'Anno and Blaze went down the toilet. Especially Di'Anno. Who doesn't love the two first Maiden albums? But it just shows how important it is to be in the right band, with the right people, playing the right kind of music.

That being said, I recently gave Blaze's albums a fair shot, and there is actually a hell of a lot of good music on his first couple of solo albums. Much better than what he did with Maiden. So maybe, if he keeps at it, people will eventually get their eyes open for his music. At least he's kept a certain sound/style. Di'Anno changed his style all the time, and left his fans totally confused.

"I can't go into too many details because of possible litigation but I can say that the agent that booked my last U.S. tour will not be booking the next one. Work will now start on plans to tour U.S. and Canada in 2013 and beyond. "

typically Blaze : It's always someone else his fault! I know the circumstances from the last tour he did & the agent (C. Bernal) was responsable for minor mistakes while Blaze & his management were making terrible mistakes! They canceled this years tour because they couldn't find any venue's who were prepared to pay to much for a guaranteed low turn out!

the cancelation of this tour only prove that Blaze was wrong when he let his girlfriend appoint herself as his manager!
