MARTIN WALKYIER To Perform Set Of SKYCLAD Tunes At 'Viking Funeral' Festival - Aug. 4, 2012
British vocalist Martin Walkyier (SABBAT, SKYCLAD, THE CLAN DESTINED) will host a free all-day heathen music and performing arts festival called Viking Funeral on Saturday, September 22 at The Nottingham Irish Centre.

Martin will play a headline set of classic SKYCLAD folk metal tunes with Emilio Souto and Matias Pena (SKILTRON), plus Simon Gimli Cliffe, Elizabeth Prendergast, Pete Hawthorne and Jacqueline Taylor.

Says Martin: "Admission to this event is absolutely FREE of charge; All we ask in return is that you each kindly make a small, or large as you like, charitable contribution to Cancer Research UK on the day."

The Viking Funeral lineup includes EIBON LA FURIES, BULL-RIFF STAMPEDE, SEVERED HEAVEN, REZINWOLF, CYNEGETICS, A VULGAR PICTURE and KHYTHON; plus "stand-up misery" from Grim Rita, a vast plethora of varied pagan artistes and very special guest performers to be confirmed.

Wish Martin would rejoin Skyclad. They just aren't the same without him and his brilliant lyrics!

"this desolate coastline, it offers cold comfort. Very little more than the sky for my blanket, the earth for my bed..."
From Sabbat to Skyclad, Martin is untouchable lyrically.

Of course he needs to do The Widdershins Jig, love the way he sang it. Then again, I like the guy who does it in a more clean style vocal nowadays, too.
