DAVE MUSTAINE On President OBAMA: 'I'm Disgusted With This Guy' - Aug. 4, 2012
Last month, MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine once again sat down with noted right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones for a face-to-face interview for Infowars.com. The entire 43-minute chat has now been posted online and can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. A few excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On the USA becoming a "police state":

Mustaine: "I'm 50 years old now and I've lived a great life and I've been around for a long time.

"Most of our fans, or most of the people who are against me, are very young and are very impressionable, which is part of being young.

"That saying that youth is wasted on young people, that's totally true.

"I remember when I was really young, I was very impressionable and I believed a lot of things before I checked it out. And if I would have been told the things that I do now are gonna affect me later on in life, I would have probably said something like, 'Well, I don't know that I'm gonna live that long.' But now that I'm 50 and I've watched so many administrations come and go and I'm watching my children grow up, which is an awesome part of when a man and a woman marry and have children, to watch them grow up, that you have concerns about stuff like that.

"Sometimes our fans that are younger, they look to me as a big brother, or even a father figure, because I really care a lot about them. But I have never been more terrified in my life about what's happening to our country.

"I believe that if we continue on the same path that we're on right now that America will never be the same.

"I freaked out the other day because I was looking at some investment stuff, and just reading it, and one of the things that it said was that if you get a second passport and you plan on moving out of the country, if you denounce your citizenship because of the taxes that are going on here or any of the things that are going on in the police state we've become, if you wanna get your passport back, you have to know things like, where did you mom live before you were born all the way up to now? Where did she go for prenatal care? Who was in the operating room when you were born? All these ridiculous [things].

"A friend of ours, it's a wonderful lady that's friends with my wife, and her husband, who is Canadian, they wanted to go back into Canada and they wouldn't let them go because there was a tax lien on their house because of a contractor who had done some shady work and they didn't wanna pay him. So the guy put a lien on their house and they're in court right now. But they couldn't even go up to Canada to go visit their relatives.

"But again… looking at these financial things. Because I'm filling out my will and everything right now, because I'm nearing the end of my life. Hopefully I'll live a long, long time, but I have to face reality. I'm getting at that age where a lot of men make that journey either to heaven — which I think I'm going to — or some to hell. And I was looking at this thing that it said that you cannot open a bank account out of the United States Of America anymore. If I move to England and say I live there for the rest of my life, if I open a bank account there, they have to notify the United States, so that the United States can continue to tax me, even if I don't live in the United States anymore. And I thought, 'This is crazy.'"

"When we're travelling through all the different checkpoints over through Europe, before all the globalization was taking place and each country had its own border and they had their own language and stuff like that, you'd come up to the customs, you'd go to the border, you'd have to stop and hand in your passport and stuff like that and now you just kind of roll through there. But when you come to your own country, it's harder to come home, it's harder to go through an airport here in the United States Of America than it was for us to even go to Moscow. We just got back from Moscow and we rolled through there so fast, I was laughing about it. Because we got out of the plane, through customs, got our luggage and were in the vans, rolling to the hotel for the show faster than we get through customs when I come home to the U.S."

"It's amazing how our liberties are being taken away from us. It's like the frog in a pot of boiling water. If it was boiling water when he jumped in, he'd jump back out. But if they slowly turned the temperature up, the frog will stay in there until he boils to death. And that's what's happening to us right here. We don't know what's going on. A lot of the American people are so busy working their asses off to make ends meet right now, they don't have time to sit in front of the news, and the news is such pablum, it's opiate for the masses and it's stuff that you wanna feel good."

"For me, the way that I get any kind of solace out of what's going on right now. Because I've been playing for a long time and I don't plan on playing another 30 years. Although I would like to be able to be able to play music for the rest of my life, I don't know that I'll be doing it on the road. The pleasure I get out of that is being on stage, looking at people's faces, smiling and stuff like that. And the screeching reality is when you travel and you go back through the airports. When we left here last time, my 14-year-old [daughter] was groped by the TSA [Transportation Security Administration]. And I was so mad, I was swearing. And the one very large woman said, 'What's that?' And I said, 'You heard what I said.' And Pam, my wife, grabbed me and she said, 'Don't say anything.' Because she knows that these guys are power-drunk and that they probably would have arrested me for just saying something about them groping my 14-year-old.

"The thing that really is blowing me away is this molecular scanner, this [Picosecond Programmable Laser], whatever they're talking about, and it's not only here, the Russians have one too, so it's something that's very real. And I read up on that and it says it's about gun powder and explosives and that's what the primary purpose of it is, but it also says that it can read inside your system and say what kind of medication you're on. So I imagine that what they're gonna do is they're gonna have a database to cross-reference whether the person that shows up that's got narcotics in their system is under doctor's care or not. For example, for me, when we're on tour, we're around people who do pyro, and pyro is gun powder and explosives for the fireworks. So if I shake hands with my pyrotechnician, I'm gonna get arrested for being a terrorist because I've got trace elements of gun powder and explosives on me, because there's fireworks going on. On top of the fact that because of the cocaine use and people using dollar bills rolled up, there's traces of cocaine on all money, so anybody touching currency is gonna have remnants of cocaine on their hands, that's gonna show up, and it's just madness. To think that it's getting to this point. I mean, I can handle us having security, but not like this."

On President Obama's misinterpreted comment from a campaign speech in Roanoke, Virginia, in which he said, "If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else did that.":

Mustaine: "See, the thing that I laugh about when I hear Obama say, 'Give the folks a chance. Give everybody a chance. Take away from the rich people.' Well, what happens when the folks that he's giving a chance gets a chance, becomes successful, is rich. Well, then all of a sudden, you're Obama's enemy now. And the thing for me is that I'm in that 1 percent that he's talking about. MEGADETH won't be able to tour anymore once all these things that he's planning on doing to me happen. And the fact that he would say that I did not build my own business offends me tremendously. I'm disgusted with this guy. He's my president, I respect the office of the presidency, but I think as a person and the things that he says, I've never heard anything this offensive ever come out of the mouth of a president. And I'm 50 — I've heard a lot of presidents talk in my life.

"Listeners out there can say what they want about me or be mad at what I'm saying right now. And I'm saying this out of love for you guys. You may not have love in your heart for me, but I have love in my heart for you. And that's why I'm a public figure and I play music, I try and educate people through lyrics. Some of the songs can be construed as being a little bit unrealistic, some of the songs are a little bit fun — they're make-believe topics and stuff like that — but songs like 'Peace Sells… But Who's Buying?!' are still relevant today, songs like 'Holy Wars' are still relevant today. And that wasn't because I was clever and I came up with the lyrics. I paid attention. I watched what happened through the Carter years, through the Ford years and watched what Jimmy Carter did to our country, taxes at 70 percent when I was growing up and thinking, 'How on earth did anybody survive back then?' For me, when you take out 5 percent for the business manager, 15 percent for the personal manager, 10 percent for the agent and 45 percent for taxes, what's left for Dave? And people think, 'Oh, Dave is a millionaire.' No, Dave isn't. Dave's an American that's getting plowed by the government."

"The funny thing was many years ago, when Obama first got in office, I said something, I was in Australia, and I was on the radio and a lot of people took exception to what I said. I said that he was the most divisive president that I've ever seen. And look what's happening right now — there's race wars, there's class wars, there's sexual wars now, there's religious wars. Don't we remember how smooth this guy was when he was saying that we're gonna bring together and he was for change and hope?"

"Why hasn't somebody moved to impeach this man? With all of the proof about his birth certificate being fake. And you see the signs in Kenya that say 'the birthplace of Barack Obama.' Hello?! C'mon, guys. How stupid are we right now? I guess the best revenge is when you look back in history at what Michelle [Obama] wore at his inauguration and she had a black dress on with two red triangles, so she looked like a black widow turned upside down. So there's gotta be some symbology there. You just don't wear something like that to some event like that without there being some kind of future message being told."

On who he is and what he stands for:

Mustaine: "I'm a Christian man who loves his family, loves his country and, most importantly, loves God, and I'm willing to fight for those things. And I'm willing to share those things with the people who would like to know about it. I'm not willing to get into it with people who don't care about it. I'm not gonna defend myself or explain myself; it is what it is."

On MEGADETH's plans for the immediate future:

Mustaine: "Well, we're really excited about what's going on. We're getting ready to do a new record. We're leaving in a couple of days for Asia, and we'll be coming back and continuing work on this new record. And we'll go to South America in September and come back and continue to do work on the new record. We're looking for a new release the beginning of next spring, hopefully.

"We're super, super excited about what's going on for us. We've continued to congeal as a band, with [bassist] David Ellefson coming back and he and [drummer] Shawn Drover as our rhythm section. It's very important that the bass player and the drummer are tight. And David is such an excellent bassist and Shawn is such a great drummer, the two of them just needed to be familiar with one another. They spend time together all day long when we're on tour, travelling and doing things — mostly seeking out Starbucks around the world. [laughs]

"I'm excited about the music that we're gonna be writing. We just changed agencies; we're with the prestigious CAA agency in Beverly Hills. We're gonna be going to sign a new contract for our recording career. Our contract with Roadrunner's up. We haven't really notified anybody what our decision is; we're still kind of deciding. But for the most part, we're getting ready to record this next record and I'm sure it's gonna be chock-full of all kinds of subject matter that our Class Of 2008 has given us."

On MEGADETH experiencing a resurgence in popularity:

Mustaine: "Music is cyclical, and heavy metal , in general, is more popular when times are tough, which is a terrible dynamic; it you look at the paradigm. Heavy metal music should not be successful when people are struggling. But they don't wanna hear a bunch of vapid, anorexic, alternative, androgynous guys that are singing about love and flowers and these kind of ecstacy trips and stuff. They wanna know what's going on, they wanna know what's happening in their world and they wanna have people they can look to who are rugged individuals who don't look like they could very easily be your sister. [laughs] And they want to have somebody that they can believe in, somebody who's been successful."

It's called freedom of speech. Something you liberals are more than willing to give away, unless its something you agree with.

Dave while I did enjoy Thirteen for the most part minus 2 tracks... 'Wrecker' is terrible... just lay off... I could understand your feelings previously but you're pulling a 360... keep up the great music and cut the family man stuff... I remember when I was 'Looking Down The Cross'... just be yourself man, being sober doesn't mean becoming our saviour, we like you for the music.

Funny thing about the outpouring of support from the religious right for Chick-Fil-A. You never see so many conservatives lining up at a soup kitchen or a homeless shelter to help out, do you?

Pathetic people devoting more time to hatred them helping out their fellow man. Jesus is rolling in his grave, on his cross, et al. People like those and this overrated ginger are the furthest thing from true Christians. If there is a Hell, there's a special spot reserved just for them.

Actually statistically, conservatives out give to charities by a long shot over liberals. And if you compare the so called "blue state" to "red state" statistics on charitable giving, the red states blow the blue out of the water. Just the typical hypocricy and "talking the talk but not walking the walk of the left. Any more liberal cliches I can tear to shreds? I've got a few hours.

I love it more now, since the left hates it (who are the sheep, btw?) It's hilarious how the gay activists had their little counter protest "kiss-in".. The left are truly the little babies of society aren't they? Liberalism is arrested development after all. "They had theirs so we're gonna show them! Yeah!" That suck-in was really meant to provoke and instigate, like everything else they do. They went into the restaurants, raised hell and became as offensive as possible with the workers and the customers, had their little cameras shooting, so when someone stood up to them or threw them out they could post the video of what a bunch of right wing christian bigot homophobes they are. Scum.

It's sad that most of you metal fans are too stupid to actually look up facts. Mustaine is correct. Btw, Mitt is not hiding money. How is it hiding when you released the info? Simple logic that most of you stoned out losers can't understand. Look into the democrats, and you'll dig up so much more illegal activity than you can dream of.

I think most smart people can see that both parties have tons of stinking rotting skeletons in the closet. It's just laughable that there are some of you who think a de-regulated market will enhance the marketplace to benefit the vast majority of citizens. Canda's markets are doiong pretty well right now. You know why? Becasue they are closely regualted. As long as Tim Geithner is in charge this will never change, but to think Mitt Romney is going to do anything but make is worse is just sheer stupidity.

I don't hate that Dave talks about politics. i just wish the guy knew what he was talking about. I'm not even going to tear appart all the mindless tea-party talking points he just vomited above. Seriously, I'd still be mad at the dude that sent us to a fake war for 8+ years, and I'm not thrilled about Obama, but it's pretty obvious that the Republicans in both houses have done EVERYTHING to block any sort of progression on any economic front while the guy is in office.
Obama should have been way more aggressive on getting jobs out there. That being said, what Mitt Romney is gonna single handedly save this country?? Another one-percenter, I mean job creator who wants to deregulate everything? Yeah, that will stop wallstreet, because it's deregulation that solves everything right? Thats a crock of shit too. So Dave, yeah, tons of us on here really feel bad for you and you're inability to tour. You know who else can't tour due to economic reasons? Me you motherfucker. SORRY DAVE, You're entitled to your opinions, but your opinions are just red herring bullshit. Watch something besides Fox someday and you'll see what grown-ups in the real world are dealing with.

I think you really need to watch something other than what you are watch for your news and information. The entire world (including the Arab nations) wanted him gone. They just led us to it, we as Americans demanded blood for 9/11. The world got what it wanted. Every intel agency in the world was stating the same thing. It is really to take pot shots at Pres Bush. Blame him for New Orleans (it would have been illegal for him to step in, seperatation of state-local-fed powers).

When they moved to save the auto industry, it was at the cost of the retiring workers' benefits. What about those individuals? As for deregulation, there is to much government as it is. The same system that crashed with Pres. Bush was the same basically since the 50s. He just happened to be in office when the world market cooled off.

Blocking everything? As a business owner, I have to balance my books, so does our government (or least it should). How are we going to pay for it? That is a question that is facing every government in the world. China, US, Canada, etc... are facing tough time. I just returned from meeting with business partners in China and Dubia and everyone is feelign the pinch.

There's what's "legal" & then there's what's right. Hundreds died (estimates are still between 1500 - 3500, they'll never know for sure), the entire city descended into the seventh circle of Hell & the entire world watched on whilst every level of government let it all happen & did fucking nothing to stop any of it. When fuckwit politicians & bureaucrats consider bullshit laws before human lives then they deserve every accusation & insult thrown their way.

I find it interesting that some of the policies Mustaine is critical of are a result of the BUSH administration, not the OBAMA administration.

You have to go through more security at your own airports because of 9/11 you idiot! If people were able to just walk right in like Moscow, as you mentioned, I'm sure you'd be blaming Obama for not protecting your country.

So just because you're in a metal band it means that you're not allowed to have personal opinions about things like politics and religion? What if we told you to keep your opinions to yourself?

Mindless democrats, too stupid to think on your own.

You keep saying bush went to an illegal war, when he had congressional approval. obama went to war without approval, which is illegal btw, but most of you don't care as long as your messiah is in office. And, where are you on his continuation of the same war he criticized bush on?

Again, you're all nowhere. Way to make the "metal community" look ignorant.

if obama does not want any blame for the shape this country is in maybe he should not have promise to fix everything when he ran for office. now that he has been in power for 4 years and made everything worse he is still blaming bush. now if youwere a reasonable person instead of stupid liberal tree hugging commie hippie you might see he was all talk and no action and what action he did take only made matters worse. I had a job when he took office and don't now but I guess that is Bush's fault right? I might not be so hard on him if I thought he cared about U.S. citizens as much as he does illegal aliens and welfare mothers, whose job it is to have bastard kids and live off the gov. since I do not have kids I am ineligble for food stamps and gov. handouts and depend on my family to help me get by. Mustaine is right in every thing he says. I love his music and his poliics!

Dave, so true and well stated. Both parties are very similar so I do take issue there. Government overall needs to back off and let us lead our lives based on the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights. I don't need Big Brother telling me what size Coke I have to order, how I want my health care administered - I am still able to figure that out myself. Yes, Obama did speak about government helped with every business, and now he's trying to lie and cover it up. All his ads are bashing and have nothing to do with his Hope message of the last campaign. For the good of the USA - we should all hope he is ousted in the next election.

Please, Dave, keep your conspiracy theories to yourself if you don't want your "business" to crash and burn. It's one thing to be critical of the President, which I agree with, but it's another to pick on irrelevant things that is equivalent to beating around the bush. Is Obama perfect? No. But "relatable" Romney or other candidates of the GOP, besides Ron Paul, would not be a better leader for the USA.

So which is it Dave, are you rooting for the 99% normal citizen or are you sporting for the corrupt 1% mitt romney´s and obama´s ?
Please wake up and see that it doesn't matter if you belive a right wing politician´s or left wing politician´s. They will both always lie to you for your vote to just be able to continue to save each others bought and corrupt asses and the sad truth is that the 99% of average normal citizen will have to pay for it as long as people allow them to be in power.
And it´s not much liberty if only corrupt right wings or corrupt left wings are able to be in power in the american congress and presidency.

Nobody ever said they didn't have freedom of speech. BTW, freedom of speech goes both ways as the protestors also have a right to retort and to protest.

Where was all the outrage about the 1st Amendment when they tried to block a Mosque from being built not only in NYC but in Tennessee? Freedom of Religion is also part of the Constitution but many of the same Chik fil A supporters were quick to denounce that.

It all boils down to people using the Constitution when it works in their favor.

I think I'm finally done with this guy. Time changes everything including our country. We need to adapt as things evolve. I know everyone is entitled to free speech but as a Megadeth consumer, I would love to see this guy shut the fuck up. What I clearly notice from these type of views is that it promotes a huge gap between cultures and class in the country and never promotes a common unity for all. They chose to have a certain group of people just drop dead in contrast to a philosophy of having an entire country healthy first. You cannot develop, learn and grow without health. They complain how we cannot afford health care but never dispute the cost of a bomb being dropped. I live and jam in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I know first hand, THE MAJORITY of people and musicians in the metal community (young and old) do not agree with this guy politically. Great innovator, but out of touch in my opinion.

I'm an American and it's my right to own an assault rifle if I want! It's the American way. What fucking citizen needs and assault rifle? We had a great deal of freedom in the past, but as people decline our freedom does. It's just the way it is. If people continue to abuse power, that right and power is removed and sometimes to the cost of everyone. It's either amend to how life evolves or round up all the people the right wing feel do not fit the true American profile and divide the country. That's not going to happen. Dead set uncompromising inflexible mindset. I feel Obama, not perfect but has an open mind which is critical in our times.

For the most part I agree with Dave. If you would have gone back to the mid 80s and told me Dave would be talking like this I would have laughed at you. He was one anger person and when he was not sober, he was an a$$hole.

I own my own business that I have spent 15 years building. I have traveled all over the world, have offices in several countries. I also have a degree in masters economics and in computer sci. I pay more than my taxes, and I have been called a 1%... which makes me laugh. I work 7 days a week and employee several hundereds of people. Dave is right views change as you age.

I am neither a Dem or Rep, I think both parties have screwed up our country, but look around. If Europe was so great, why are they going broke, why is the US going broke? Paying for free loaders. I paid in taxes more than 90% of people make, my company is taxed in England, Germany, Dubia, Japan, Korea, Canada. Their is no perfect government, every economy is suffering, including China.

With that said... I don't mind any actor/musician stating what they believe, as long as it is on their time. But when I pay to see a concert or movie... shut the f' up and entertain me. Because 90% of the time you don't really understand what you are talking about completely.

I love Dave but that doesn't mean I agree with everything he says and I keep Megadeth completely seperate because I love their music and yes even Th1rt3en which bash for some reason. I see everyone arguing over who is right or wrong and how dumb he is but at the end of the day where did that get everyone? Nowhere. Everyone just becomes more angry with one another and it snowballs. I'm not defending Dave on anything of what he said but if someone asked the same exact questions to you guys and they published it then I'm sure a shitstorm would errupt just like this too.

Anyone who thinks a politician has the answers is an idiot....anyone who is a Republican is a fool, unless your white and rich....anyone who listens to anything Dave has to say is a foolish idiot who should seek help immediately!

BTW - I have no issue with the Chik-Fil-A owner, even though I disagree with him, as he was exercising his right to free speech. As a corporation I will no longer support the food chain because they donate money to religious organization which try to reprogram homosexual children against their will (because the nut job parents give consent). America is suppose to be about freedom for everyone, not just those who agree with your point of view!

I agree with you on Chik-Fil-A owner, he was asked a question, he answered it. It did not surprise me either, since they are a christian based company.

Chik-Fil-A can donate to who ever they want to. I don't agree with some of the organizations they support either. But for ever Chik-Fil-A, there are other companies like mine that support homosexual charties that promote tolerance.

But to say that anyone that who is a Republican is a fool, unless your white and rich.... show how short sighted you are. I am what some people call rich and white, yet I am independent. Politicians are to worry about staying in power and not doing what is best for the country.

Now that Dave Mustaine stated in that interview that he plans on leaving Roadrunner, RiotAct666 is talking crap about him.RiotAct666 works for Roadrunner Records. The two party system in America is broken, corrupt, unreliable and just plain wrong.I'm an Independent and if there is never a third option that can make it in the Mainstream, nothing will ever change about the way this country works.

Mustaine keeps talking about Canada, that is one of the biggest Welfare states in the entire world!Everyone always bitches about the U.S., but they never move out.

I read most of Dave's latest rant, until I got bored, and I never did get to the part where he blames Obama for all of this, if he did as the headline implies. I'm with him on some of his points, the TSA molestation, how we sail through customs in other countries but are treated like criminals when we try to return to our own country, increased ability to detect minute traces of illegal substances to falsely imprison us for drugs or explosives.

Some of his other points I disagree with, such as the tax responsiblities remaining in effect even if you renounce your citizenship. I guess Dave was interested in that one when he retires, and found it won't work anymore. So anyone would really support rich people cashing out their chips and moving to a tax haven to bask in their money, while flipping the bird at their homeland? No wonder the U.S. is headed to a two class society, the haves will enslave the havenots if they have their way.

It's still laughable though how anyone can blame all of this on Obama. Such pathetically short memories people have. Anyone remember who was president when the Patriot Act officially started the War on Liberty? Yes, I just coined a phrase, George W. Bush started the War on Liberty, and some will not be satisfied until the U.S. is a complete police state with closed borders and citizens in virtual slavery.

It has clearly fucked this guy up big time.

You people in middle america need to stop listening to conservative radio and start making up your own minds, those nitwits are puppets for the super rich corporation folks, they worship them like you worship your ridiculous gods then rile you up because it's real fucking easy to do with people during hard times. Look what hitler did, amazingly easily. Corporations are slowly losing control over us and they are in a state of panic because we simply don't need the shit they produce anymore. Look at the record companies...the same thing is happening to the plastic and fossil fuel industry, the automobile industry and banking (the only way they make money is to steal it...they are actually putting coffee shops in banks now, WTF?) etc...

Dave raged against taxes following you wherever you go in the world. He thinks, like his guy Romney, that if you can move your money or your ass out of the country you shouldn't have to pay taxes anymore.

I guess many people are receptive to this argument though. We all hate taxes, so any way we can avoid them is a good thing, right? So then Romney should just show us his tax statements so we can see how cleverly he avoided paying taxes on his millions, right?

There is so much garbage being spewed by both sides in an attempt to get people angry enough to get off their couches and put someone in office. And that person in office just wants to get a guaranteed 4-year salary and a lifetime of benefits courtesy of the taxpayer.

They're not interested in solving any problems, if they actually solved problems, they wouldn't be needed and they certainly wouldn't have anything to get people angry about.

People want to say replace them all, but take no thought into who they're replacing them with.

Obamacare won't be repealed because it's going to be used for ammo for decades in order to get elected. After all, welfare is still around despite the Republicans having the White House and a Congress majority.

And the Democrats aren't going to be 100% for marriage equality because they need that ammo despite having the White House and a Congress majority.

In truth, everybody is conservative in some areas and liberal in others.

First, Dave was asked the questions and he responded. He didn't steer the interview towards politics.

Second, he has the right to his opinion whether you agree with him or not, so respect our right to free speech that so many Americans died to give us!!

Third, HE IS RIGHT! You losers who continue to smoke dope, live at home with the 'rents in the basement and collect unemployment are pathetic. Get a job & get your OWN opinion, you bunch of followers!

Fourth, I am a conservative Independent. Both parties suck and the one we choose should be the lesser of two evils. Just turns out that the democrats always seem to be more dirty than the republicans. I don't like Romney at all, but if it's between him and Obama then Romney has my vote.

Fifth, don't you understand what this dufus has done by blowing up the deficit? He is ruining our lives and the lives of our children and grandchildren because we will all have to pay for it in the form of higher taxes (less money to support you & your family) and less services (roads & bridges falling apart b/c there are no funds).

Oh, btw, what happened to the so-called "shovel ready" jobs that this guy talked about? Ha, ha, you fell for it, though we all do need a shovel now to get out from under his bullshit.

Lastly, I can't understand how people can believe what Obama says. He continues to blame Bush for everything, has no balls, lies, sells out our country, puts people into office to do his dirty work (um, Holder and the Philly Black Panter issue), Holder lying about fast & furious, and on & on. I know I speak of Obama appointees, but his appointments are just an extension of himself.

Dave, so many of us metal heads who have since grown up and now have jobs & families agree with you. We know that you are just answering questions. Sorry about the all the other idiots who can't think for themselves and have succombed (sp?) to Obama, the Master of Puppets (Obama)!

Typical crazed, right-wing stereotyping, completely devoid of fact or substance.

I've been working since I was 14, don't use drugs, have never taken one penny of government assistance, have an excellent software engineering job, and I'm a liberal.

You right-wingers love to dehumanize liberals...it makes it a lot easier to hate and think violent thoughts about them when you can view them as subhuman and parasitic.

That was Josef Goebbels' method in the 1930s as well.

The fact is you probably don't even KNOW any liberals. All you know about liberalism is the grotesque, pornographic caricature of liberalism that Rush Limbaugh and Fox News tells you about liberals.

If you actually took the time to sit down with one and speak to them like a fellow American, you'd learn a thing a two, son.

First: Yes, you are correct.

Second: He has his opinion, you have yours, I have mine and everybody else has theirs. No one is curtailing his right to free speech, so why curtail anyone else's when they respond?

Third: No, he's not right, just right-wing. It's all an opinion.

Fourth: I am also an Independent. I call it like I see it. I see them both as dirty and hypocritical. If Romney is elected, I don't see any real change, just more of the same.

Fifth, where were your complaints when Bush added to the deficits? Or Reagan? Both added a higher percentage than Obama. T.A.R.P. happened under Bush. The GM bailout was also started under Bush. Bush gets blamed because this mess happened under his watch. The propaganda machine wants to lead you to believe that Obama started this mess. Yes it is Obama's job to clean it up, but too many people in Congress want to go back to the old Bush and Reagan policies that brought us to this point. Thus, hampering the recovery, purposely in order to get elected.

You see, they know Bush was a disaster, but if Obama is successful, they may never get elected again, so they have to make sure he doesn't get a single victory. They go after the individual mandate despite that it was their idea to begin with. Romney used it himself. They even try the Obama didn't get Bin Laden, a soldier did crap, as if the Seals work without orders. For that matter, by that rationale, they killed an innocent man as Bin Laden didn't kill those people on 9/11, the hijackers did. Get real.

I am also one of those people who have grown up and am now raising a family. Maybe if Conservatives stopped with the social crap the Conservatives are trying to legislate (i.e. abortion, gay marriage) and quit trying to find ways to give the rich tax cuts (as trickle-down has proven to be a failure) and most important, quit making your number one goal of making Obama a one-term President, perhaps we could find a solution. Both sides have good ideas and both sides have bad ideas. Discussion and working together is key, not the my way or the highway attitude.

The problem is that so many people moved so far to the right, that everybody else is left by default.

America is less of a police state now than it was during the mccarthy era and the 60s-70s where the national guard shot unarmed student protestors and Nixon called them "bums". Also there was the small issue of black people and civil rights! America today is a great place to live despite what hysterical, spoilt idiots say

Dave is a fuckwit and he doesn't have the drugs and booze as a prop anymore, so he witters on about politics, despite obviously having a sub-wikipedia grasp of such things.

He insults everyone else by assuming his half baked rants will come off as convincing - he assumes everyone knows less than he does.

You don't have to be a Dave supported to agree with this. I have nothing against Dave, but not a huge fan. But you have to be either braindead, or have the same enemy viewpoint of this country and want to see the downfall of it as it was founded, to support the creep in office. If you're REALLY informed, (and that doesn't mean watching messNBC and reading the sleazy lib blogs), it's impossible not to be totally disgusted with him and the whole left in general right now.

Actually Dave;s wrogn about the part where the poeple he gives the money he confiscates fromt he "rich" (meaning small businesses taking in 250k or more), then vbecome his enemies. He's fine with the rich peopel who are on his sde, liek his bundlers, super-ricj democrats in office who gained their wealth by inheritence (Kenneys) or sleazy real estate deals, and shit liek that. And the big corporations who are in bed with his regime like GE and Google. THOSE rich are perfectly OK. If you earned your way to a good living, you're the enemy. I mean after all, "If you own a business, you didn't do that, the rest of us did it". Collectivist propaganda.

I read his rant and I think he's mostly unhappy with how he is being taxed by the current administration. I'm a bit surprised when he states he's not a millionaire though. I mean, some black metallers in Norway are able to live in mansions. I have a hard time imagining Megadeth making less money. Also doesn't Dave own at least one clothing company? Blaming the government is a little tiring. Drug addiction goes hand in hand with mismanagement. It's tough to make a living as an artist and he's paid his dues but Dave has had every golden opportunity to make a ton of cash and if he's unhappy with what he's achieved it's no one fault but his own. Blaming the world and concocting conspiracy theories is a little hard to stomach for a guy that should know better.

Dave should educate himself from sources other than the right-wing propaganda machine. It's ALWAYS been hard to get your citizenship back when you surrender it in the US. I know someone who did it as a child decades ago and 20+ years ago he tried to come back and the US said "Nope". This idiot acts like all of these things have something to do with Obama. Guess what, the rich have always paid taxes and no one who pays taxes has ever gotten to decide where their tax money goes. The rich have it easy on taxes and only idiots believe they don't. Talk to an IRS agent and they'll tell you the smart millionaires know how to write everything off, and put their money in shell corporations and tax shelters to avoid paying taxes. Millionaires who show 'losses' every year to make sure they can't be taxed. The people who believe the bullshit idiots like Dave Mustaine spew deserve to be treated like the brain dead sheep they are.

Citizenship: if you renounce it, you're treated like every other furriner. And paying taxes on income over a certain threshold while living abroad has been around since I fucked off to New Zealand in '03, and probably a long time before. That ain't Obama's doing. I considered giving mine up on principle, but as long as I have family in the states it's a dumb move. Mate of mine did it in Australia in the '80s. His Dad died a couple years ago, and 'cause he had a pot conviction in AU it took him 3 mos to get a visa, missed the funeral and everything. Of course, when you're Richie Rich, getting that visa won't be too tough, so if you actually make enough money to make renunciation make sense it won't really matter to you. But duh. If you do, trying to get it back will be a real bitch. Just like getting a green card. Which is why you don't just throw it away without having a bit of a think. And it has jack shit to do with socialist nanny state fox propaganda.

and even though you like to think you're so intelligent you've been abusing the dictionary for years, you pretentious dullard:

"if you denounce your citizenship because of the taxes that are going on here..."

the word is "renounce" not "denounce."

i could spend days pointing out the misuse of words having more than a single syllable in your lyrics.

and i was listening to "the World Needs a Hero" the other day -- your spoken word bits are embarrassing, like something an 15-year-old would think is poetic, heavy and arty. i shuddered hearing some of those lyrics.

How divided we've all become. UNITED seems to no longer apply when considering the States of America. Divided States of America is much more accurate at this point, so let's just change it to D.S.A.

A large part of me tells me that the reason why we are looked at so negatively by the rest of the world is that we look at ourselves so negatively; we air our dirty laundry out for the whole world to see. That old saying "Point the finger, three pointing back" could not be any more true. Is it not possible that if we had respect for ourselves that we could once again be respected? Instead of blaming everyone else, maybe we could shoulder the responsibility on ourselves. We have the POTENTIAL to be one of the greatest nations in the history of mankind, but we have to work & strive for it. Our lethargy & arrogance can be our greatest weakness, and left unchecked will ultimately be our demise.

We need another Benjamin Franklin to inspire our country. Anyone who knows something about Franklin (except the fact that he's on the $100 bill) knows that he is pretty much the spiritual & ethical source of the USA's achievements in the first 200 years. In fact, if you know Franklin's accomplishments, it makes sense why he is on the $100 bill in the first place.

I'd also like to add... I bet $100 that 100% of BM posters are aware of the predictions of the End of the World, which by all prediction will come in a mere 4 months. I'd be willing to bet another $100 that at least 30-50% of BM posters subscribe to this belief, if not more. So my question is this: why is everyone so concerned with what Dave Mustaine said about Obama, or how many people ate at Chik-Fil-A the other day? Or gay marriage rights? Or even how Obama is running the country? if the world does really end on 12/21/12, is it really going to make a fucking difference anyway? Just live life the best you can, do the things that make you happy, and try to help those you love as much as you can... the whole world can end in 4 months, but life can end for any individual in a manner of minutes. You could drive to work, or the unemployment office tomorrow morning & be obliterated by a drunk driver, or one of the other millions of faces of death can stare you down, and, just like me, you'll have spent one of your last precious moments on blabbermouth.net. Seriously, think about that. in the meantime, it's back to Type O Negative for me, cuz a wise man once said

LIFE IS KILLING ME!

COMMENT | Okay, so Democrats and Obama ARE failing us...

I should just stop voting Democratic and start voting Republican. If you can give me one reason. And there are so many, no? Where do I start?

1. Republicans care about the middle class.
Right now, Democrats want to give tax cuts to the middle class or rather preserve the ones Obama gave us and which are about to expire. The Republicans, the middle class champions they are, are holding that tax cut hostage until...the rich, too, get their tax cuts also, that's on top of the Bush's tax cuts which as a middle class-loving Republican, he gave to the rich ONLY.
2. The Republicans care about the workers and American job creation.

Republicans, like Scott Walker, have repeatedly assaulted and dismantled unions, which are sooo bad,   Republican state workers criticize them, that is, until the unions that they're not even full members of, win them a 2% raise in a time of budgetary austerity, THEN they say "go unions!"
President Obama and the Democrats proposed 3 bills to jump start the economy, including showering with tax cuts corporations that bring jobs back to America while cutting off the ones for the outsourcerers. Republicans were on board but for one small price, you guessed it, more tax cuts for the rich, lowering corporate taxes for ALL corporations, regardless of their record in American job creation. Republicans, like Maryland's darling ex-governor Bob Erlich shipped countless jobs overseas while in office leaving plenty of Americans jobless or laid off. Meanwhile, corporations showered with tax cuts and loopholes "for job creators" do create them indeed. In China and India! As some corporations want to hire Americans, they are advised by legislators to "hold off until we get rid of Obama" so they can blame the Prez even more.

3. Republicans care about democracy and value representative government.

In many states, such as Minnesotta and Wisconsin, Republican governors designated one-man "emergency financial executives" with power to dissolve local governments in the name of "fiscal responsibility" with no oversight whatsoever, even the governor's, a move historically known to be excercised but an Italian gentleman known as Benito Mussolini, the inventor of fascism.

4. Republicans care about America.

Last year, while disputing federal budget reforms, Republicans actually shut down the Federal Aviation Agency crippling airport operations throughout the country, much like 9/11 did. Reason? Democrats would not agree to cut Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare while giving more tax cuts for the rich, based on approval, and the Democratic opposition to, Paul Ryan's "Path to Prosperity". When Democrats stood their ground, Republicans relented, but blamed the setback on Democrats, "regretfully having to continue for so long because of Democrat stubborness" to essentially quote Republican Maryland Congressman Andrew Harris, who in his campaign to "create American jobs" informed people that Prez Reagan, in his first term of office, reversed the economic downturn of Carter's administration, despite the double digit unemployment rate as Reagan was reelected, which has been reported last year by the Libertarian Party.
But that paled in comparison to what Republicans pulled off at the end of 2011. Previously, Republicans voted to raise the international debt ceiling (limit to how much U.S. government can borrow) six times, including twice with the Democrats. However, in 2011, when debating new budget, Republican majority House leader John Boehner dug his heels in the ground and said "we're broke". America was facing a crisis worse than the recession it was in as the result of combimation of bipartisan policies and/or lack thereof. Democrats, and hell, the American people were begging the Republican patriots to be reasonable but no avail. Adopt Paul Ryan's "Path to prosperity" which puts bigger burden of taxation on middle class along with cuts to essential social services, in exchange for trillions of dollars in additional tax cuts for the rich who were doing fabulously thanks to Bush's tax cuts. Democrats did not agree to cuts to social services but proposed something else- since gas prices were rising and oil companies were making record profits, they proposed doing away with corporate oil subsidies funded at middle class 23% tax rate, rich 15% and corporate sometimes 10%-sometimes nothing-and sometimes a refund from IRS tax rate. The Republicans promptly block the measure, no doubt to either decrease spending or provide taxation relief to the middle class, not really sure. Finally, with what John Boehner described as 98% success for the GOP and a downgrade of international credit for America, Republicans relented but on one condition: an extra-constitutional body of six will decide further cuts to budget. Meanwhile, close to 80% of American people called for rich and corporations to start paying taxes as the rest of us, specifically calling for ending the Bush tax cuts. So much for silent majority.

5. Republicans care about the truth, whatever it may be and whether or not it damages them.

While interviewing for 60 minutes, Chairman of the GOP Eric Cantor, reminded that Reagan actually raised taxed while in office, stopped the interview because "it was not true".
When one of the Republican senators was cought cheating on his wife, Fox News promptly reported the event whole presenting him as a Democrat.
From 2001, during Prez Bush's presidency, the CIA and the military had orchestrated three raids whereby to aprehend the number one enemy of America, Osama Bin Laden. Prez Bush refused all three times and later on would say "Osama Bin Laden? I don't really know where he is now and I don't care" failing to specify whose business was to know and care, besides the Executive branch of the gov, the same one who tremendously expanded the federal gov by creating over 200 known agencies within the framework of Homeland Security, on top of already existing FBI, CIA, NSA, ATF, which under former presidents of both parties served as anti-terrorist bodies.
When Prez Obama ordered a raid on Osama Bin Laden, the Republicans, along with suddenly-Republican-again former gov of Alaska and form. vice prez candidate, Sarah Palin thanked the Navy SEALS, proposed to "thank our president, we thank prez Bush.

6. Republicans care about American women (and children)

Reportedly, Republicans had cut or theeatened to cut funding for Planned Parenthood, contraception as well as trying to kill Violence Against Women Act, while replacing it with their own version, which would redefine "marital rape", the ability for a wife to report being raped by her husband. The Republican anti-abortion stance is well known, but now, the children MUST be born, since you can't prevent it in any way. Fortunately, the poor children never starve to death, not on Republican watch, with countless Republican bills to support low-income families with children.

Tea Party Republicans who run the GOP, are opposed to Prez Obama strictly on policy grounds. Although a few rotten racist apples did spoil the TEA basket, none of the core officials of the GOP has a problem with a black president, per se.

The former prez candidate/Texas gov, Rick Perry, reportedly had a HUNTING club by the lovely name "N#%%erhead" which he denounced, once the word got out.
Colorado Congressman Doug Lamborn reportedly referred to Prez Obama's situation as "a TAR baby situation".
A conservative pundit, Glen Beck, responsible for last year's city hall conservative armed riots, compared himself to MLK, by calling himself "a WHITE MLK" at a rally that had the appearance of a White Power assembly, judging from his speech, in which he called, essentially, "to take the power back". So if MLK spoke for black power and you're the white eqiivalent then...I see. That same pundit has called prez Obama "racist" without bothering much for evidence (the conservative way) in an oldest book in the book of beating up on the gay guy loud and proud lest people will realize you're gay yourself (see "Glee" for details of the technique).

An Arizona conservative radio talk show host, Barbara Espinosa, called prez Obama "a monkey" on the air. Back where I come from, a predominantly racist country, Poland, (currently run by conservative theocrats) this is standard derogatory mark for a black person.
A Libertarian (tomato, tomeito) Carson city council candidate, Jules Manson, in a Facebook post, rightly outraged by the passage of National Defense Authorization Act, which makes Patriot Act look like Bill of Rights in comparison, a legislation for which Obama can legitimately be held responsible, expressed his anger as a civil Libertarian. Unfortunately, he then proceeded to take it further. His rant read like this: "assasinate the monkey president and his monkey children".

A top Southern California Tea Party official, Marilyn Davenport, reportedly sent an email depicting Prez Obama and the First Family as monkees with added caption "Now you know why no birth certificate". When confronted, MD said "it was a joke", "I have black friends" and my personal favorite "I am an imperfect Christian".

All right, enough. I could go on but I'll stop there because now I have some compelling reasons to vote Republican. Just look above!

COMMENT | Hey, Conservative, Constitution-loving Christian Republicans!

Where did marriage by State came from? Is it Constitutional? If it's a secular idea it is unconstitutional to limit it in ANY way with respect to a free citizen UNLESS it is specifically stated in the Constitution (feel free to quote me the part that limits
marriage by State to man and woman only) or the State has a compelling reason for limiting it. As the State has yet to make a COMPELLING case, it cannot be limited in ANY way. Conservatives are quick to criticize policies absent from Constitutional, well, this is one.

Now, another possibility is that marriage by State is a religious decree that somehow made it into secular law. This would be unconstitutional, unless there is shown to be no dominance of one religion over others (per 1st Amendment's religious clause) Since Constitution does NOT provide for such thing as "State recognized religion", no religion is a religion for mankind worships itself, and secular humanism has been called a religion by many conservative pundits, i.e. Ann Coulter.  If the dominance of one religion is evidenced (as it surely is, since there is ZERO compelling arguments against gay marriage outside of a FRINGE view of a brand of Christianity, based on SUBJECTIVE interpretation of a religious text (the bible) with many Christians in disagreement as to that particular or this particular interpretation. Furthermore, liberal Christianity, very numerous, holds no objection to homosexuality or at least recognizes correctly that such view is grossly inconsistent with the Supreme Law of our land.

Thus, we see that the anti-homosexual agenda is NOT constitutionally based but religiously based, as are such things as the display of ten commandments, the unconservative insertion of "under god" in the secular Pledge of Allegiance (by CONGRESS in 1953!) as well as holding women as 2nd class citizens. That last one is religiously based, again on a SUBJECTIVE interpretation of a religious text and  has since been shown to be false biblically as well as with respect to civil rights.

Constitutionally unsound ideas should, per conservative's own calling, be discarded. Thus, if forbidding gay marriage by State is a religious issue but that religion is shown (and it has) to be dominant, marriage by State should be ABOLISHED. If, on the other hand, it is a secular decree, it cannot be limited in any way.

To sum up, in the gaping black hole of an absence of Constitution-based argument on the right against gay marriage by State, presented here is a left-wing, yet thoroughly Constitutional argument for gay marriage by State. Conservative argument comes from a wishful thinking of those who'd see The United States as a theocracy, which is precisely what Constitution guards AGAINST, because, at the time of its writing, monarchy and theocracy were considered the, undesired, same, with the king the head of the Anglican church and a threat to a budding country's democratic principles. As Constitution, per Founding Fathers's own statements in their extra-Constitutional writings, a standard the Supreme Court uses to determine constitutionality of anything, is a SECULAR document for a secular country, it cannot carry a theocratic/monarchic agenda.

While conservative "Constitutionalists" are welcome and free to not grant marriage to homosexual couples in their CHURCHES (although still using my money via unconstitutional designation of churches as tax-exempt entities) they are compelled by Constitution to "laisezz fair" (hands off) the use of the State to enforce their church rules. Unless, of course, they're equally okay for their churches to be compelled to obey State rules.

The Constitution can rightly be summed up as an "all or nothing affair".

Conservatives are Constitutionally free to use whatever means (excludingt church participation lest they stand to lose their tax-free 501-c status) to promote their discriminatory agenda. They're just not allowed to get OUR State to enforce it.

They blame the opposition EXCLUSIVELY why presenting their side as the only solution.

While I do think the only response to extreme right is extreme left, I believe both parties are to blame. But while Democrats keep compromising and looking for ways to work with the left, the right is only interested in having it their way at any human or national cost, as they have shown time and time again. Democrats see and recognize their side of the screw up(s) while GOP and TEA always paint themselves as blameless, and that despite some strong criticism on their side. So much for personal responsibility and accountability they preach so much about. That's because they want US the middle class to pay for their mistakes, their wars, their investments, their failures while we follow their church rules. Republicans used to stand for something. Now all conservatism is is exactly what it looks like: a pathetic excuse for selfishness.

And thank you for a good laugh to whoever posted that claim of Democrats hating the poor. Okay, either we're socialists who hate the rich and love the poor or, like you, we're mostly rich white folk intent on eradicating poverty one un-prevented, unaborted starving to death child at a time. Can't have it both ways dude.

Mustaine REALLY needs to live in an actual police state to see what that shit feels like.

In India, which is ostensibly a democracy you can be thrown into jail for crimes like 'causing offence' to someone - this could be due to something as innocuous as making a funny/insulting remark on the internet.

You have cops who raid pubs and randomly arrest patrons or brand them prostitutes because 'drinking is against Indian culture' or some such bullshit.

You have cases where people spend years in jail because they've been branded terrorist; they come out and say they were thrown in (and kept there for over five years or so) due to an unending succession of trumped up charges and where tortured through large parts of their incarceration.

That my friends, is what a police state feels like - and India is supposedly a democracy.

What a stupid ingrate this man is.

I'm with Dave on this. Obama hates this country. He needs a pie in that smug face of his. Romney will show his tax return when Obama shows the dozens of other documents he's sealed and buried! Yup... Barack is a treasonous amateur.

Judging by the thumbs down on my posts Republicans only like facts when they work in their favor. Quick, vote this poster out before too many people learn the truth about the GOP. But please, don't bother to refute my facts just vote me down, you rational, reasonable, patriotic defenders of (Conservative Christian) liberty!

"I believe that if we continue on the same path that we're on right now that America will never be the same."

You mean, that evil thing progression? Revoke all laws written after the deaths of the founding fathers and see how you people would enjoy living in the USA then.

I like it how when Dave says he's unpartizan, no-one replies, but when he says he doesn't like Obama, it's a full on culture war in the comments. I always thought part of having free speech and democracy was to move forward together, do things that at least account for most sides of the arguments, and solve shit. Earth 2012 is 'I am more right than you are, fuck progress, we need to do it my way, or fucking GIIIITTTT OOOOUUUUTTT'. Never have I thought to be able to use a South Park quote to accurately describe the sentiment of masses of people.

Obama and Bush are like stripes on a zebra: different color - same animal.

Both started unauthorized wars.
Both presided over massive increases in government size (and power).
Both practiced corporate welfare to the tune of $trillions.
Both support fractional reserve banking, the Fed and monetary collapse.
Both used government intervention to permanently enslave the poor, destroy the middle class, and reward the financial industry.
Both are beholden to the military industrial complex.
Both practiced extreme interventionist foreign policy.
Both sent billions in US dollars abroad.
Both spent billions in the racist "war on drugs".
Both did nothing to curb illegal immigration.
I could go on, and on, and...

When will Americans wake up? When will we vote for someone the corporate system has NOT picked for us?

Write in Ron Paul.

Not really. While I do think that the right-wing hate for him is extremely exaggerated, fueled by rants of humanure (thank's for coining the phrase, Cattle Decapitation) like Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Bill O'Reilly and pathetic excuse for a woman/traitor to the female kind Skeletor/Tales from the Crypt host, Ann Coulter, who just want to watch the world burn while laughing all the way to the bank to deposit money YOU made them by listening to their divisive hateful the-furthest-thing-from-a-Christian rants, I think the man (Obama) failed us. I think the Democratic Party failed us. I think, if you elect Republicans in 2012 to take over all 3 branches of the government, effectively turning the U.S in a one-party system, like in sovietized Europe or Nazi Germany, you will find out that they, too, will fail YOU. The problem is that neither party has really done anything remotely helpful for anyone making less than 250,000 a year, and if they did, they take it away by not getting involved when opposition destroys. The poor keep getting poorer, the rich richer and the middle class is dwindling soon to be swalled up by the class of the poor. Modern day Republicans are intent on having just two class system: very rich and very poor, and modern day Democrats, well I can count on one hand the number of actual Democrats in the Democratic Party. Blue dogs, with views more akin to moderate conservative, are cropping up. If you're rooting for the prevailance of the right-wing you pretty much almost got your wish. Just be careful what you wish for.

I could not, but would have, voted for Obama in 2008. I'm sorry, but Bush W remains the worst president in the U.S. bloody history, lying, scheming privateer. I have no respect for anyone who steals the office of the president and then gets rich and powerful using national resources and then gets away with it. So I campaigned for Obama since my naturalization application was still pending. You're right, expectations were high, excitement and hope at their highest and he used it to get elected. Obama from his books and Obama the president are like Harvey Dent and Two-Face. Funny, how ironic that he is half-white half-black. Two-Face. I think, excluding sheep who hated him from the moment they heard the name, majority of Americans, and let's not forget how many conservatives voted for him, Republicans, Democrats, centrists, Christians left and right, Muslims, atheists, agnostic, gay, lesbian, straight, men and women, are just dissapointed that Mr. "change we can believe in" turned out to be just another fraud. Reading these posts, I have noticed majority of you are sick with politricks in general. I think while with Bush people were about to, with Obama they finally hit the wall. If Jesus was in that office and turned out just another politician talking out of his other end, he'd get the same rap. I do not envy Mitt Romney if he gets elected - can you imagine the PRESSURE on him after people blew their gaskets over Obama? Good luck, President Romney. You're going to need it. I think we have made a TREMENDOUS mistake when we allowed corporate money by Citizen United ruling Romney is so enamoured with. Corporate scum who cares nothing for America or the American people made figureheads out of BOTH parties and now they are worthless.

I say kick them ALL out! I say let's reform campaigns so that Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or Independent Joe and Jane can compete with corporate monkeys because they have the same budget! I say let's ban negative campaign ads - talk about you would do not what your opponent won't! We're sick of mud-slinging while our children are starving and Exxon executive gets another 1,000,000 dollar boat with our money!
I say let's limit Congressional AND Supreme Justices terms! You have got, say, 2 terms and get the hell out! No time wasted on trying to get reelected, but dedicated to serving the American people, not your selfish interest!
I say cut Congressional, Presidential and Justice's pay in half at least! There, saved the deficit for ya!

Until we take a look at the root of the tree it will give us nothing but rotten, maggot infested fruit.

Jones is not a right-wing, he is GROWING a right wing, since he is already batty. This is the same guy who warned us that Y2K will end this world as we know it. Then he talked about FEMA camps with were laughed out of Fox News by Glen Beck himself. We were supposed have lost all our weapons by know, Obama was going to take your gun, blablabla. And then when you call his bs he reacts like these doomsters who said the world was to end last year- he says he miscalculated. No one really knows what is going on in DC, him least of all. Same guy who believes 9/11 was inside job pulled by Mosad. Last time I checked Mosad was Israel's agency not ours. The only people who are crazier than him are those who buy his crap.

The popularity of Model T-Fords and other mass produced vehicles brought about the need for a national system of paved roads. Before that, dirt was mostly fine for horses and buggies. In other words, the paved roads were brought about from pressure from the private sector. The government didn't pave the roads so Henry Ford could sell cars. He sold cars, and the government decided to pave roads to meet that private sector advancement. ...So, even Obama's point about the government enabling the private sector, while holding some grain of truth, is vastly overstated.

Second, I am not a gun owner, but I support gun ownership. If someone picketed my local gun store, I would not think "those hatemongers hate gun owners and people who believe in gun rights! Those bastards are bigots!" I wouldn't give a fuck. Also, that would be the dumbest leap in logic in history, that people hate you because they disagree with you. It's a shortcut to vilifying all people who disagree with you so you can dismiss all their opinions as a product of bigotry or ignorance. It's a dumb point of view to assume that people embracing a philosophy different than yours = hate and bigotry.

Now I specifically explained why I'm not too crazy about President Obama, but I AM okay with Obama as President. I will, however vote for him, most likely because I don't want Mitt Romney as president, not another rich, white guy who thinks corporations are people. Why is it such a bad idea? Because when people are people corporations are property. But when corporations are people people, too, are property.

But I was wondering, I was talking to this guy yesterday and he turned out to be Republican. He was throwing the typical right-wing stuff, stop taxing corporations because they create jobs (where are they?) and then he got to Obama. First he started with the, by now completely debunked, riidiculous notion that Obama was born in Kenya because his grandma said so in an interview but he had her hushed. When I responded that even Michelle Bachman said in an interview with a liberal host: "Well, we've seen the birth certificate, it's good enough for me", he said "It could STILL have been a forgery! Do you think he'll be reelected?" and I said "yeah, by default, mostly" and he said "what're we gonna do? Well, we need someone like Lee Harvey Oswald, you know just like JFK, who's burning in an eternal flame, we need to send Obama to eternal flames..."

I was speechless. Why such intense hatred when the guy doesn't even live up to the infamy and every single one of "50 Lies of Obama" have been factually debunked? Did Bush W or Bill Clinton, or even JFK have to prove their natural birth to say nothing of the intense scrutiny of what is qualified? Why does it matter where Obama got his education, as asked by gov. Rick Perry? And then it hit me.

The last lynching incident in America, of a black man being dragged to death behind a car, was as recent as in 1991. Civil rights movement has come and gone and so did KKK but the latter went underground. NOW, it's resurfacing. Some conservatives, in the 21st century, with Alan West, Michael Steele and Alan Keyes in the GOP, nothwithstanding, apparently, think that, while it's okay to be non-white (well, not entirely) and hold SOME office, the most powerful man in the world MUST be white! Whenever they say, "we need Christian president, they really mean, we need a WHITE president, I won't be ruled by anyone else". I propose, as of now, for all genuine, god-loving Christians to denounce any connection to these neo-Nazi pseudo-Christians before someone mistakes you for one!

Are they people who don't like Obama because of his policies? Sure, left AND right! But there's something to be said for the fact that no other president in our country's history had to go through THIS MUCH scrutiny. Sure, there have been birth disputes, faith disputes, allegiance disputes, party loyalty disputes for many. But never all of it for ONE man! Never did Security Service have to provide its protection to a presidential candidate 6 months BEFORE his campaign! And what about the "screw the jobs, screw the economy, just make Obama one term president" current GOP agenda? And I seem to have read about one of Ron Paul's staffers cought disseminating racist literature in the office. I won't insist on that, but it's funny how most Obama-haters I talked to always propose Paul as an alternative (including the man from my story above).

Additionally, I used to think that gay-bashing, not simple homophobia, was separate from racism. But I am having a hard time finding a gay-basher who is also NOT racist, as of late! Some, the stupid ones like Davenport, Perry and Beck get cought or burn themselves, but most sugar coat it. Obama's a Muslim (bullshit, debunked), Obama does not put his hand on his heart (an outdated requirement, ALWAYS optional, and the picture does not clarify if it's just after the Anthem and the folks behind are just not as quick to drop the hand, etc., etc.), Obama is a terrorist or a friend of terrorists! (so is Pat Robertson but nobody has a problem with it because he's a white "Christian"), Obama does not recite the Pledge of Allegiance (numerous videos showing him doing just that), and many, many other accusations, all together, all bullshit! Because you know what, when you already hate someone, you tend to not verify your sources when he or she is accused of something, why, you digently look to burn them! Remember Pharaasees?
"and they looked diligently if he says anything offending SO THEY MAY TRAP HIM". READ YOUR BIBLE, Christian! It's all in there! Read ENTIRE Romans 13, especially the part about requirements for LOVE! And don't forget the part where it says that all authority comes from god and you should respect it even from the WICKED ones! The bible means NOTHING to me but it means everything to you and therefore my excellent knowledge of it helps me identify who is a Christian and who is one in name only or because it's popular (and boy is it popular, these days!)

You know how I know that whenever you already hate someone you tend to be very biased against them and try to burn them with whatever you can concoct? Because I did it. I despise George W Bush with a passion. Will not get in details, you've probably heard them all by now, besides, it's not relevant. I admit, too, I AM sick of white old "Christians" running this country. You hear me? I just ADMITTED my prejudice against the rich, whites (though I am as white as they come and half-German BORN) and Christians! So, now that we have that out of the way and W being all 3 do I not like him because I'm already prejudiced? Possibly. But I also despise him for being a thief of presidency, liar about 9/11 and Iraq War propaganda, tax cuts for the rich, enabling White Power to take over the GOP and yes, HE, is the most divisive president in our history, and you know what, Dave, you used to agree with me. Until black man became president. Did you think we forgot your racist, gay-bashing rants from the 80/90s? Oh yeah, you're different now, you're Christian, after all. Christ-in. Guess what: to me it looks like the pigs have mixed up with humans so much I can't tell one from another, anymore. Some people just "become" Christians so when others call them assholes and bigots they can sweetly reply: "but I am work in progress, god is working on me". Well, I hope you don't pay him by the hour, cause he's ripping you off big time!

But anyway, back to my previous point. Back when W was still in office, I had an agenda BEFORE I even found any evidence. Kind of like when he ordered CIA to dig up stuff on Saddam because he was going to invade Iraq as early as September 12 2012 but did not have anything to justify the move. In the same manner, full of hate like you have for Obama, I began to search for anything that made him look (see if that rings a bell): 1. Incompetent, 2. Illiterate, 3. Foolish, and most importantly like a tyrant, preferably Hitler, but Stalin would do, too. Now, (pay attention here especially) whenever I found a SNIPPET that even hinted at any of those, without checking sources or authenticity, I would IMMEDIATELY publish it on myspace. Soon, I had a full array of out of contexts, slip ups, self-conscious comments he really didn't mean to make but I didn't care. I kept going. I began to dig up stuff on Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity, etc., etc. Although he is clearly and undeniably a racist, at the time racist quotes by allegedly Rushbo filled myspace...and later proven false, liberal propaganda, as you would call it. Not that he didn't or doesn't deserve it, but still, as Superman said, even the Legion of Doom should have a fair trial. Finally, even when refuted, my quotes were immediately replaced, even more vicious, more scathing. Proving me wrong only made it worse. Truly, man is a vicious animal!

The zenith of this insane crusade was when I dug up Hitler's declaration of war on USA speech and compared it to W's invasion of Iraq one. I switched German with American, Iraq with USA, etc. and both speeches complimented each other perfectly. It is still my belief, THOUGH I COULD NEVER PROVE IT, that W's speechwriters simply used Hitler's speeches as a blueprint for Bush's. Now, whether or not he knew that, that's debatable, and admitting that flaw might be the first step in my recovery.

But it still does not solve the problem of, how can you tell a racist pig that, to quote the late Chuck Schuldiner (Death) "use up air that others could breathe, human leeches all around, superior, what they believe" (Spiritual Healing, title track, 1990), how can you separate them from a genuine policy dissenter? Simple, ask.

Why do you hate Obama? If the answer is because of his policies (most likely everyone's up to this point), ask "which one?". If they go at length about policies that are actually of his doing, first, and that HAVE, not might or will, have caused damage and then describes what the damage is and it's all factual you're dealing with regular dissent on policy.

But if the same starts giving generalized "talking points" like "because he's a socialist, terrorist, blabla, fart, fart you are almost there, you're almost certain he/she is a racist who would simply not have a black man tell everyone what to do. You hear Limbaugh cry about "reverse slavery" well that's exactly what he means: no (insert derogatory remark for a black person) will rule over me! But he can't say that because he'd be done, so he replaces it with "Muslim", "terrorist" or some other designation to keep his hateful gutter of a talk show on the radio.

The final test is: do you think Obama is a natural born citizen?" if they say yes, chances are, they're mildly racist, like Bachmann(s), but not maliciously. Now, if they say no, ask them where he was born and they say Kenya your alarm should go off. The right-wing intensely loathed Bill Clinton, some of it justifiably, and then devised a way to burn him, although he mostly burned himself. No one, however, questioned his birth or education or even ties to terrorists, although they sure had him for a mafioso as well as with Hilary. But they, bitterly as hell, accepted his right to be president, and it did not hurt that he was a white rich Christian and helped pass the fiercely unconstitutional DOMA and unconstitutional not for reasons you think. The act voided constitutional requirement of "full faith and credit" to be used to stop  bigot states from having to recognize homosexual marriages or civil unions valid elsewhere. Yes, it is an act Obama until very recently supported and failed to abolish, though he promised it in his campaign. But show me ONE politician who always keeps his campaign given promises!

Now, you ask the final question: How do YOU (accenting you like I just did) know he is not a natural born citizen? If they now talk about forgeries, remind them what Bachmann said. At this point, if they hesitate, they're just mistaken or misinformed, but if they say immediately something like "it STILL COULD have (not is, not was, but could, mind you" been a forgery. Not even folks they like can change their mind. Congratulations, you've got yourself a racist. Now, if they continue with proposals referencing JFK and Oswald, you are most likely talking to a closet KKK member.

So are ALL birthers racist? Every single one.

Now let the hateful floodgates open on me from you, racist pigs out there. Yeah, you know who you are. I've gotta brown shirt just your size.

Your scaring me dude - not because you're scary - but because I agree with a lot of what you say - and I'm an old, white, Christian Republican. The thing that has turned me against the Republican party is the shameful way they've treated Ron Paul. The thing that has turned me against American Christianity is the greed they practice, and how they will preach sermon after sermon against the supposed 'evils' of rock music and smoking but never once preach against greed, lust, gluttony, or any of the other deadly sins.

So, while maybe in a recent incarnation I would have hated you, now (I'm afraid to admit) I can't find it in me to do so.

I don't agree with them enough to be Republican (although leaner but more efficient government is what makes me differ from many liberals) but I don't question their love for our country or genuine desire for the public good balanced against individual rights. The problem is that an overwhelming number in modern day GOP is neither Christian nor Republican. They're just white and old. It's like complete invasion of the body snatchers. Mainly, because some of GOP make up after the civil rights movement is former Southern Democrats-turned neocons. A neocon is neither and both conservative and liberal. He loves to spend money, but he's "smarter" about it, he doesn't spend it directly but borrows and spends or, more often, uses tax cuts.

Since we both know how  neither party is willing to give up their budgetary darlings, the demand for taxation is huge. Both parties and their constituents want government to do more for them or the increase of what it has been already spending on. You've got your liberal demands: education, social security, medicare and medicaid, but it dwarfs in comparison to the "conservative" (what exactly are we conserving here?) enormous defense spending demands. It didn't used to be this way, but today's GOP demands more
in defense than George W. Bush ever asked for! They won't allow even drawbacks of troops where they are no longer needed like Europe! But are THEY willing to pay for it? Are they GOING to pay for it? Nope. We will. So neocon compains about Uncle Sam spending tax payer's money on social programs WE ASKED FOR, need and are willing to pay for, but he really means that the RICH and the CORPORATIONS should not pay for it. Well, he also means that they should not pay for THEIR wars, we should, even though we're not willing to, nor can we frickin' afford it!

Ok, say, you have to collect some 3 billion in taxes. Currently, you have corporations and the rich paying like 2.5 times less in taxes than the middle class (thank you, W!) So, roughly, let's say 70% of taxation comes from middle class and 30% from rich and corporations. Now, neocons give big tax breaks to the latter while assuring you the former will NOT go up. So let's eliminate corporate tax entirely, which is neocons favorite mantra, and lower rich taxation from 15% to 10%. You used to (before this new adjustment) have corporations paying THE LEAST in taxes and I'm not even talking about ones like GE who last year got a REFUND while making huge profits. Makes no sense to me, but back to our calculations. The 30% of old taxation, let's split it 20% rich and 10% incs. Now, take away the 10% making corporations tax-free enterprises and substract some 7% out of rich taxation. Now you have 17% of additional taxation uncovered.

You have two choices: cut government spending (good luck getting  neocon to give up anything here) which is impossible for reasons stated above. Now, you take 70% add 17% and the middle
class now pays 87% of tax revenue. Of course, the rich still use the same services, in the same amount as before, they're just not paying for most of it. We are.

Now, a reasonable (real) Republican would say here: wait a minute, the rich and corporations clearly are screwing the middle class royally in their assess! And they would proceed to right this wrong, most likely by raising rich and corporate taxes to a fair level as compared with middle class (I would be fine with 20% on everyone's part, as would, remarkably, Reagan, for example, of whom I am not very fond of but who was NOT a neocon, taxed corporations 70% just like Carter. He changed nothing in this department because he knew that when corporations are taxed heavily, the will not be able to screw with U.S. economy like they do now. Corporations were laying people left and right for years and outsourcing jobs outside of America because it was cheaper, yes, but when they were given big tax breaks by neocon they actually used that money to lay MORE people off and outsource MORE jobs. See, it's like a dog, once tasted human meat, it will never want anything else. I believe Reagan, like our Founders saw corporations as unreliable entities who could not be trusted so he taxed the crap out of them. They never have, do not, nor will they ever have in the future, American interest at heart. Most of their CEOs AREN'T EVEN AMERICANS! Profit, profit, profit, is all that matters! Remember bailouts of AIG? Did they turn around and hire more American people? Did they open new American franchises? No and no. They awarded BONUSES to their top executives! Now, that's what I call a big middle finger to the American people! I believe REAL Republicans would not let them get away with that.

But let's go back to the neocon or teabagger, same thing. Most teabaggers declared themselves non-Republican BEFORE the 2010 election. A neocon would not only not help the middle class, but actually BLAMED the Democrats, saying "See, THEY don't wanna cut spending and instead raised your taxes! Democrats HATE the middle class!" but, of course, we both know it's only half-true.

So what happened to the economy? Well, many reasons exist, some Dems some Reps fault. But one of the MAJOR ones were Bush's tax cuts. W cut riches and corporate taxes, thereby, as shown above, increasing middle class taxation. Then he actually INCREASED spending as corporations were laying people off to get the most out of THEIR money. People lost jobs, and when people lost jobs they were not generating income but drawing unemloyment. Nobody held corporations accountable for creating jobs, as in create jobs and THEN you get a tax cut. So they didn't. So, thanks to neocon and tax break-inspired greed of corporations, money was taken out of budget for unemployment benefits but the middle class could no longer add to it without incomes so, ironically, the rich had to pick up the tab. But the rich, too, don't care about America, middle class or the economy (with some exceptions like Warren Buffet) because, like corporations, they don't have to. They can count on  neocon who THEY elected with their campaign money to represent them, to give them more and more without any obligation or accountability on their part. The corporations and the rich are, like fire, just a thing, neither good nor evil. They just are. But add gasoline (free money, no regulations, no strings attached) and kaboom!  you've got yourself an inferno, apparently, big enough to burn up an entire country!

The middle class not afford to, but the rich and corporations have tax lawyers who specialize in little less than tax evasion. They find all the loopholes and voila! soon NOBODY is paying taxes! Meanwhile, the neocon calls for end to the unemployment benefits! Let people go to work, but doesn't to anything to get the "job creators" to create jobs. All he wants to do is give them more money, more gasoline to put out the fire with!

Imagine I am hour painter and you say,  I want you to paint my house top to bottom, here is 50000 dollars, you shake my hand and say, I'll be back in a month. I know you'll do what expected, NO CONTRACT NECESSARY. I trust you. Venture to guess what happens? No strings attached, no contract that says when and how much I should do!

Now, you come back, and you don't see me, and more importantly, I ain't done shit. You somehow track me down and furiously demand money back. I say "I'll do it, I'll do it, just give me more money!" Now, will you reach into your pocket and without hesitation hand me another 50000 dollars or say: "Well, I'll see you in court?" See, ask any neocon and he will choose the latter adding, duh! Why? Because it is his money. But the corporate giveaways are not his. They're ours.

So how is a big spending Democrat different from a neocon who awards more and more money to corporations who just say: "I'll create more jobs, just give me another taxbreak or do away with regulations!" Neocons just say, sure, and give them what they want and they do nothing  because they're not obliged by law or any other means. Moreover, they can count on more from neocon, because he practically CONDITIONED them to NOT deliver when paid. Who do we know that neocon complains about doing the exact same thing, freeloading with nothing in return? That's right-welfare recipients. Now how is corporate welfare different from individual welfare? The latter, a legitimate claim for a real Republican, is merely a sleight of hand for a neocon. It allows him to siphon money from tax payers the same way individuals do but he keeps the spotlight on the individuals crying "See, they're robbing you blind?!" and when you busy going after the individuals, corporations and the rich sack your home safety box. That is how a neocon is not really a Republican. He is a big government fiscal liberal using Republican means to make personal profit. As Keith Olbermann once said "A reasonable Republican will run the other way. Good luck finding one!" Now, why the hell would I want to vote Republican when there are no Republicans to be found in the GOP?

So I go with Obama and Democrats, because every once in a while, they will say to the neocon: "Who do you think you are robbing American people like that?!", that is, when they're not busy "compromising" with the neocon (we give you all and you WON'T take more from us in return!)

Btw. remember what Rush Limbaugh used to say before the TEA Party surfaced, when folks would call him "the mouthpeace of the Republican Party"? He would say: "I'm NOT Republican. I am a conservative". Whereas Republican used to mean something in the vein of Jefferson's Democratic Republicans, today, much like liberal, the term has become so vague, it means absolutely nothing. And when it means nothing it could mean ANYTHING. That way, Rushbo can not only claim to be whatever the neocon would call himself at the time, but he can claim he has ALWAYS been one.

Why do you think we have the Libertarian Party? It is the new Republican Party. Sadly, they have become amazingly dilluted by the teabagger infiltration, and I predict, sooner or later, it will either get swallowed up by the neocon GOP, become its equvalent of the Vietcong for the North Vietnamese, or seize to exist altogether. All you have to do is to get them to merge with religious right and game over.

I guess my comment got deleted.

I said a lot of things and I don't feel like retyping them.

The one thing I've learned is that the Democrats are just as bad as the Republicans and vice-versa. See my post above about the zebra. The two parties are only different on the fringes. On all the big issues - foreign policy, monetary policy, domestic law enforcement, and militarism - they are EXACTLY the same!

Don't fall for the lies. Look into Ron Paul - no LISTEN TO Ron Paul - if you want to hear the truth.

That's all I've got to say.
