Video: Heavy Police Presence At Tonight's 'Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival' - Aug. 3, 2012
According to WBZ-TV, a number of arrests were made and several patrons were taken to the hospital Friday night (August 3) during the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival at Mansfield, Massachusetts's Comcast Center.

There was a heavy police presence at today's event following last week's rave-type show at the same venue where two young men overdosed on a deadly mix of drugs and booze.

In June, a Rhode Island girl was badly beaten at the Jam'n 94.5 Summerjam concert at Comcast Center.

And this past Wednesday, police arrested 35 people and placed 60 more into protective custody at a hip-hop concert.

Watch a three-minute WBZ-TV report below.

Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, the world's largest touring heavy music festival, kicked off its fifth year on June 30 at San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California with a record-breaking attendance of 26,105 — 4,000 more than the previous attendance record set by the tour.

The headlining slot on the main stage at Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival is occupied by SLIPKNOT. Next are thrash metal kings SLAYER, followed by the legendary MOTÖRHEAD). The main stage also spotlights a ferocious mix of today's best artists in a rotation, including THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, AS I LAY DYING and ASKING ALEXANDRIA.

Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival is produced by Rockstar Taste of Chaos organizer John Reese, Vans Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman, Live Nation, and Creative Artists Agency. The team has made the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival a standout on the summer concert circuit by following the proven model of utilizing sponsorship to deliver a lower ticket price and an enhanced concert experience. This year sees them joining forces once again with Rockstar Energy Drink as the title sponsor.

Why the hell is Slipknot headlining over Slayer and Motorhead? On the plus side - at least I can leave early and beat the traffic.

The only thing worse than a police officer is a state trooper.

Last year when I started my new job at college and it was my first time driving my new car at night. As I get onto the main highway, a cop pulls me over because my headlights were off. At the time I had no idea what he was pulling me over for and I thought the headlights came on automatically like most cars. I could also see the road fine. Soon as I pull off to the side of the road, he comes up and yells GET THE FUCK OFF THE MAIN ROAD. Then I go to a hardees parking lot so theres enough space and instead of me rolling down my window, he opens the door so I got out and then he goes WHY THE FUCK DID YOU GET OUT OF THE CAR.

He told me that my headlights were out which was reasonable for him to pull me over for, but he didn't have to be a dick about it. He started asking me if I was drunk or on meth and I said no, I just got off work, if you wanna give me a breathalyzer go ahead because I am not under the influnece of anything and then he yelled DONT TELL ME HOW TO DO MY JOB. He then asked why I was nervous and I said because I wasnt sure why you pulled me over. He then yelled, I dont pull people over for no reason. I should write you a ticket for lipping off to me. Luckily I didn't get a ticket or anything. I'm all for police in the sense that they are there to protect and serve. What I don't like is dickheads like that who become power hungry and harass people they pull over when its unnecessary.

Nowadays they try to provoke you into losing your temper, so they can arrest you for "disorderly conduct". That's their favorite bogus charge now, all you have to do is raise your voice to them or fail to do as they say immediately, and they've got you. Good for you, you didn't fall for it. Always maintain your composure no matter what they do.

Unnecessary? Driving at night with out headlights could kill someone asshole. Dude had every right to pull you over whether you thought the headlights were on or not. Take some accountability dude.

That wasn't the point. There was a time when a police officer would pull you over for something like this, explain what you did wrong, ask you to be careful next time and let you continue on your way. Anyone remember the last time they had a civil conversation like that with a police officer? Me neither.

Calm down and learn how to read. Clearly I said in the article that it was reasonable that he pulled me over. What was unreasonable was his behavior.

I have had times where cops pull me over for one of my
headlights being out or a tail light being out and they've still been civil about it and gave me a warning.

they need some new luxury items, judges want to buy new boats, cops want some new jewelry to flash for their girlfriends, that sort of thing. Gotta ramp up the busts at concerts, easy pickings with all the drunks and potheads. Get them into the criminal justice system fast so more fine revenue rolls in for law enforcement pockets.

With SLIPKNOT in the headlining slot.. and the continued use of Paul Gray as a hypodermic morphine role model for the band. It must raise a few concerns... that young kids will follow his path in life...

Alcohol sales apparently were still going and considering that I worked security on these type of shows I know pretty much any substance could be sneaked in.

the mentality that overtime causes officers to lose patience. Including Stupidity(its true you can't fix stupid), attitude it's all about attitude. Lying, total disregard for the law and others safety. And frankly, I am going to go home at the end of day and I don't give a damn what you think of me as long as I get to do that. I don't run much traffic either because I actually deal with the worst of the worst in South Dallas. Say what you will, I will always have my military brothers and my brothers in blue watching my back. Peace

Being on older fan, I have seen it all. I've worked security and I have been thrown out of shows (deservedly). You can still go to shows, catch a good buzz but you have to be smart about it. Designated driver, cab, car in good working order, etc. Like what was mentioned earlier, if pulled over always keep your cool. Your passengers need to keep their cool also. You never know how tight security is going to be. Hell one time in Chicago I had my pack of smokes searched. Another tid bit when getting near the venue beware of people broken down near the entrance. Many times these are cops. Trust very few. This is a computerized police state, and it's not going to get better. You younger rockers (yes i'm jealous) would have loved the 70's and 80's, got away with murder.
