STAIND's AARON LEWIS Hosting First Charity Golf Tournament - Aug. 3, 2012
According to The Pulse Of Radio, STAIND singer Aaron Lewis, through his It Takes A Community Foundation, will host his first charity golf tournament on Saturday, August 11. The Aaron Lewis Invitational Charity Golf Tournament will be held at the Crumpin-Fox Golf Club in Bernardson, Massachusetts. Proceeds from this tournament will benefit the R.H. Conwell Community Education Center in Worthington, Massachusetts.

Lewis said in a statement, "Our philosophy at It Takes a Community Foundation is that it takes a community to sustain a community. With diminishing public services and towns in crisis, we are looking for ways to support local groups that strengthen, engage and enrich the communities near our home in western Massachusetts."

Through the foundation, which Lewis co-founded with his wife Vanessa, the Conwell Center was saved from closing two years ago, which would have forced local students to bus one hour each way to school. The facility has been kept open through donations, corporate sponsors, grants and multiple fundraisers.

Before the tournament, there will be a $50,000 shootout contest and putting contest. After the golfers finish their round there will be a cocktail hour and silent auction followed by a dinner and the awards presentation. The evening will be capped off with a live acoustic performance by Lewis.

Lewis recently said that STAIND will go on hiatus after finishing its upcoming touring commitments, but insisted that the band is not breaking up.

STAIND has finished its deal with Atlantic Records and Lewis told The Pulse Of Radio the band will look at all its possibilities when the time is right. "There's so many options these days, we won't really know until that time comes," he said. "Everything is changing so much, every time you open your eyes and close your eyes, the business has changed even just a little bit more. So we'll see when we get there as to what we're gonna do. It would take a ridiculous, ridiculous check for me to be willing to sign a record deal again, but there's many other ways to do it."

The singer will release his first full-length solo album, "The Road", on September 11.

I'd have no problem with that. Loved Darius' last 2 albums!

Aaron & Darius > 99% of the bullshit blabbed about on this site

PERIOD

Can't wait for Aaron's solo album either.

Cool of him to do that. However, I see him sucking the life out of the game.
