QUEENSRŸCHE Confirmed For 'Monsters Of Rock Cruise' - Aug. 2, 2012
The new QUEENSRŸCHE lineup has been confirmed for the Monsters Of Rock Cruise, which will embark on its second voyage from March 16 to March 20, 2013.

Departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this cruise will visit the private island of CocoCay, plus Nassau, Bahamas with a rockin' bonus day at sea, sailing the emerald waters in this unprecedented floating heavy metal festival.

For one all-inclusive price, fans will enjoy a myriad of special heavy metal concerts, events and activities, designed to please the most discerning rock 'n' roll metalhead. While the music is the centerpiece, this is more than a concert cruise event. It is fantasy camp designed for interaction between artists and fans. The fun will begin the moment fans begin to board the beautiful MSC Poesia, meeting new friends poolside during the kickoff Sailaway Concert.

For more information, visit MonstersOfRockCruise.com.

The new QUEENSRŸCHE lineup made its official live debut as the headliner of the last day of this year's Halfway Jam, which took place July 26-28 in Royalton, Minnesota.

QUEENSRŸCHE members Michael Wilton (guitar), Eddie Jackson (bass), Scott Rockenfield (drums) and Parker Lundgren (guitar) announced on June 20 that they were parting ways with singer Geoff Tate and recruiting powerhouse vocalist Todd La Torre of CRIMSON GLORY as his replacement. The new QUEENSRŸCHE lineup previously played two shows in their home city of Seattle under the name RISING WEST.

Wilton, Jackson and Rockenfield defeated Tate's motion for a preliminary injunction on July 13 that would have kept them from touring and operating under the band name,

Tate and his wife, Susan, QUEENSRŸCHE's former manager, filed a lawsuit against Geoff's ex-bandmates on June 22 in King County Superior Court over whether he should be awarded the QUEENSRŸCHE name after being dismissed from the group in June. Their complaint states Rockenfield, Wilton and Jackson wrongfully fired the singer and are tarnishing the group's brand by attempting to move forward without him.

If the case goes to trial, the date is set for November 18, 2013.

In the meantime, Wilton, Jackson and Rockenfield, along with Lundgren and La Torre have launched a new web site at QueensrycheOfficial.com.

Lundgren was briefly married to Geoff's stepdaughter Miranda; they have since divorced.

There's at least 4-5 bands there that should beat out the Queensryche tribute band as headliners.

I find it amusing that Keel and Ron Keel are both playing but separately. How awkward...

The world was anti-Tate untill this new cover band actually performed. Now people are starting to realize that the "savior of QR" is isn't half as good as Tate in the era he is supposed to bring tha band back too. Not to mention, he's already admited to recording fake backing tracks.

It's a cover band minus the 2 best players and songwrites. No DeGarmo, no Tate? Pass.

Didn't they mislabel the tour?

should read "MONSTERS OF COCK ROCK"

wow..haven't heard that many glam band names in 20 years. Good publicity for the new Queensryche, but they don't belong with that cluster of makeup glam bands. At least there are a few more normal bands on the bill. Queensryche need to tour with bands more like Priest, Maiden, Dream Theater, Alice in Chains...hell even more modern heavy bands like Killswitch Engage or Nightwish.

That's not a bad lineup at all...but prices are a bit steep for bands that do free festivals throughout the summer...or play in bars for $15.

I wouldn't blame the QR camp as much as their new agents. Look up Bigg Time Entertainment and check out how much of their roster is on that cruise.

Why is everything on a boat these days? I couldn't think of anything worse. Being stuck on a boat with a heap of smelly sweating dudes for a weekend. Sure, good tunes and all, but not my idea of fun. Id rather go to a festival.

Because the new Queensryche needs a captive audience.

I have seen worse line-ups, and Helix would be fun to catch. Plus you have Saxon, Lynch Mob and Lita Ford... could be worse.

If Tater plays his cards right and comps several cases of his wine, he may land an opening gig for the comic in the late night lounge.

but i was hoping Queensryche's new agency would book them more high profile shows than a cruise where Ron Keel is featured on the marquee. Twice.

There are more than a few bands on here that are split into separate camps. I wonder if the "Other Camp" guys from LA Guns, Great White, Queensryche, Faster Pussycat, etc, are going to rent a submarine and try and sink this boat?

At least Geoff Tate will go out with Alice Cooper later in the year and Geoff is also on a rock cruise: shiprocked. Plus a recordcontract with InsideOut. So far he's doing better then Queensrÿche.... This MOR cruise is just a BIGG Time entertainment thing, with bands no one cares about, except Tesla, Saxon and Loudness.

Except Shiprocked is little more than a bunch of bro rock and nu metal crap with a few decent acts sprinkled in. Really don't think Tate and his lounge music act will go over very well in this setting, honestly. Now, if he attempts to rock again... yeah, that won't happen.
