DIO: 'The Singles Collection' Box Set Due Next Month - July 30, 2012
According to CDJapan.co.jp, Universal Music has set an August 31 European and September 3 Japanese release date for "The Singles Collection", a box set containing 48 songs from 14 of DIO's classic singles in replicas of the original release and a DVD featuring 12 music videos,. It comes with a reprint of a U.K. tour poster and DIO family tree (subject to change) and it also includes a 32-page complete discography of the Vertigo years.

The 14 CDs are:

* Holy Diver
* Rainbow In The Dark
* The Last In Line
* We Rock
* Mystery (inc. UK tour poster)
* Rock N Roll Children
* Hungry For Heaven
* Dio Live
* King Of Rock N Roll
* I Could Have Been A Dreamer
* All The Fools Sailed Away
* Intermission
* The Dio EP (inc. DIO family tree)
* Jesus Mary And The Holy Ghost

As previously reported, a new DIO compilation album, "The Very Beast Of Dio Vol. 2", will be released later in the year. The 17-song set will include three bonus tracks, two of which are new and have never been made available on a full DIO CD before. The cover artwork for the set was created by Marc Sasso, who previously worked on DIO's "Killing The Dragon" and "Master Of The Moon" albums.

The original "The Very Beast Of Dio" compilation was officially certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on March 11, 2009 for shipments in the United States in excess of 500,000 copies.

Issued in October 2000, "The Very Beast Of Dio" was the second greatest-hits collection CD — and the first to be released in the U.S. — from the Ronnie James Dio-fronted band.

It's missing Wild One and Born on the Sun, yet I see a Lock Up The Wolves era disc in the picture. More information would be nice, along with a US date.

I have all my Oldschool Dio Collection and that is good enough for me!
One of my best Dio pieces is my
VERY LIMITED{ONLY 50} PROMOTIONAL LOCK UP THE WOLVES IN LEATHER STILL SEALED IN ITS ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP!

Still, to see his autoraphs on the wall that i obtained over the years and the memories that goes with them,talking with him and shaking his hand is fucking PRICELESS!!!

Ehhh...
Guess i will take a Peek at this Singles Collection Box.What The Fuck..Just Looking....Hmmm

Hail ! to the Best Frontman Ever in Metal/Rock N Roll !!!!

I'd bet that would be the Lock Up The Wolves era, as they have Intermission out of order.

I guess it's just not complete. The Dip EP UK only includes the Iron Eagle song and is 1986. The skipped the "Hey Angel", "Eviloution" and "Born Under The Sun" singles. Looks like "Wild One" although a video wasn't a single.

Wouldn't this be much cooler if they were all analog 45s...just saying, as much as I prefer CDs to the itunes/mp3 nonsense any day of the week, when it's something special like this, they just feel cheap, no?

I know it would sell pretty well, there are plenty of Dio fans out there who love vinyl...

I already own all the full length albums and EPs so I could kind of care less about the singles (I prefer whole albums and don't really collect singles for their artwork or anything). More info on the Dio tribute album would be better since I don't own that one and am kind of stoked to see what Lemmy, Halford, Grohl and Hetfield's take on Golden Voice is like.

Fuck all the cash grab comments! This is being put out by Universal Music. Should they stop making Dio products because Ronnie passed away? Seriously!

Nice release .... but nothing new ... but cool for collectors. I liked the Donington release which was a nice treat. I'm pretty sure they have tons more for us to enjoy the coming years. It might take some time to put them out cuz the releases after Dio's passing were all well done.

I can't wait for a series of remasters with unreleased material and ofcourse....MAGICA 2
