HATE ETERNAL Frontman Interviewed In Singapore (Video) - July 28, 2012
Aeternus Metallum conducted an interview with guitarist/vocalist Erik Rutan of Florida-based extreme metallers HATE ETERNAL during the band's short vacation in Singapore in May 2012. You can now watch the chat below.

Said Aeternus Metallum: "We at Aeternus Metallum had NO prior experience in interviewing any bands before and Erik was our first. Please mind and forgive us for any cocky unprofessionalism that you have seen. For every beginning, there is always a small stepping stone."

HATE ETERNAL's latest album, "Phoenix Amongst The Ashes", sold around 1,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 14 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

HATE ETERNAL's previous album, "Fury & Flames", sold 2,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release.

"Phoenix Amongst The Ashes" was recorded at Erik Rutan's Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida and was mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (SEPULTURA, SUFFOCATION, UNEARTH) in New Windsor, New York.

J.J. Hrubovcak was added as the band's bassist, alongside the devastating combo of Erik Rutan on guitar and Jade Simonetto on drums.

The "Phoenix Amongst The Ashes" cover artwork was once again handled by Paul Romano (MASTODON, CHIODOS, THE ACACIA STRAIN, GODFLESH, EARTH CRISIS) who previously worked on HATE ETERNAL's "I, Monarch", "The Perilous Fight" (DVD), and "Fury & Flames" releases.

Hate Eternal kicks ass, but the image for that video clip makes Erik look special.

I'd never heard him talk before. His music is really over the top and I never could get into HE for some reason, but he sounds like a totally humble guy. His work on Domination and Gateways was and still is incredible!
