IZZY STRADLIN Performs With GUNS N' ROSES In Saint-Tropez - July 22, 2012
Ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Izzy Stradlin joined his former band on stage last night (Saturday, July 21) to perform almost a dozen songs during a hastily scheduled concert at a private wedding in Saint-Tropez, France. Izzy and the current lineup of GN'R reportedly played the following tracks: "You're Crazy", "Welcome To The Jungle", "It's So Easy", "Mr. Brownstone", "Used To Love Her", "14 Years", "Dead Flowers", "Nightrain", "Patience", "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" and "Paradise City". Also performed last night — without Stradlin — were the songs "This I Love", "Rocket Queen", "Estranged", "Live And Let Die", "Street Of Dreams", "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Don't Cry".

The Saint-Tropez concert was a last-minute addition to GN'R's itinerary, following the band's performance at Costa De Fuego festival in Benicassim, Spain on Friday and before tonight's gig at Son Fusteret in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

Reports suggest the event was a private wedding for a billionaire and that Bryan Adams was also on hand to perform before GN'R hit the stage.

After last night's show, GUNS N' ROSES guitarist DJ Ashba tweeted, "Just finished playing a private concert in St. Tropez, France. It was great having Izzy back on stage with us."

Fellow GN'R axeman Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal appeared less enthused about the prospect of playing a last-minute concert, tweeting before the show, "Wow. Diverted without info (or gear or clothes or sleep) to play a wedding in France. Yep. Guess it's not *one show left*." He added, "Crew working dangerously nonstop due to added show. Not ok with that..."

Afterwards, Thal tweeted, "That was actually fun as fuck & everybody was so sweet :)"

Stradlin previously performed with GUNS N' ROSES on May 31 at the O2 Arena in London, England.

Both Izzy and GUNS N' ROSES lead singer Axl Rose skipped the band's recent induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Stradlin issued a statement the week before the induction, thanking his bandmates, the Hall Of Fame for "the acknowledgment of our works over the years," and the fans who "have supported GUNS N' ROSES from day one."

Former GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan joined Axl Rose on stage for the first time in seventeen years at the band's October 14, 2010 concert in London.

For the Rock Hall induction performance, McKagan, guitarist Slash and drummer Steven Adler were joined by guitarist Gilby Clarke and drummer Matt Sorum for three songs — "Mr. Brownstone", "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Paradise City" — from the band's classic 1987 debut, "Appetite For Destruction". Providing vocals in the absence of Axl Rose was Myles Kennedy, the singer for ALTER BRIDGE and Slash's current solo band.

Sorum played drums for "Mr. Brownstone", while original drummer Adler took over for the other two songs.

Axl really needs to look in the mirror. The creepy pedophile look has to go.

At this point im not even sure who is actually in Axl's band anymore. Only a few more years are gonna pass and nobody will even want a reunion of the 5 original guys. What a waste ya know .

I'm already at that point. Axhole is a complete dick, and sings like Mickey Mouse these days. The AFD lineup is gone forever, but the album is timeless. Thanks for the memories.

Fuck Axhole's solo band.

My thoughts exactly. I bought that first Izzy solo album, with the Ju Ju Hounds. What a heap of shit. I really question how much he had to do with AFD. And fuck him for sucking up to the guy who destroyed the band.

so horrible to look at in this cover band. Its the biggest Slash wannabee on the planet. The hat and the poor swagger of the Les Paul is such a bad rip off.

I know there a lot of them out there, but who are these people who continue to support him (Axl)? Outside of Bas Bach, who ever says a nice thing about this guy? Where there's smoke....

What 2 extremes we have here:

On one hand, you have one guy that has a ton of playing ability along with a ton of integrity, pride and internal respect.

On the other hand, you have a kiss-ass clown with no spine or balls.

You tell me who is who.

The sad thing is, the first guy listed above probably just lost his job on Bill Bailey's payroll while the 2nd guy listed above probably got a raise on Bill Bailey's payroll.

Every member of the classic GnR lineup has put out a solo album. Well, Axl, sort of, he just called his solo effort "Guns n' Roses". Every "solo effort" has been crap.

"almost a dozen songs during a last-minute concert at a private wedding in Saint-Tropez, France."

Hey Axhole, it's my kids birthday in a few weeks, can you play a party for a bunch of 6 year olds?

I think Bummblefuck or whatever his name is will be out of a job soon, hope he gets Izzy back. If so, I can call them Guns N' Roses once again.

Holy shit. This is so fucking embarrassing...

Watch the live video of GNR at the Freddie Mercury tribute show. Watch the concert in Tokyo. Watch the classic lineup at The Ritz.

And now? AXL ROSE IS PLAYING AT WEDDINGS.

Holy fuck. Axl talks so much about integrity and blah blah, but he'll come play your wedding, for the right price.

Jesus, if he's so hard up for money, he really should just reform the actual GNR. Money is something he'd never have to worry about, ever again.

And I just love how publicly discontent Bumby has become. The guy is the textbook-perfect session player, the guy you want to hire when you want music played perfectly as-written. And he's not happy with the dysfunctional shitshow that Axl is putting on, even with the massive paycheck he gets.

Can't wait for Bumby to quit (soon enough) and see who his replacement shredder is.

...Someone tell Bumblenuts that his boss isn't a fan of any type of distention in the ranks. Especially if it happens to reach the entire outs world. Better start writing songs for your solo disc.

That is a bold faced lie. Izzy joined Axl Rose and his hired band onstage - how could Izzy have joined his former band onstage when Duff, Slash, and Steven were not onstage?

A couple things.

1. Duff and Izzy (aka the "down to earth" dudes from the original band by all accounts) are obviously cool with Axl and have no problem with what he's doing. They don't need the money to have that opinion.

2. Elton John played Rush Limbaugh's wedding for a million dollars and nobody said shit. These guys do it, and, well, you guys just love to hate this band I guess.

Peace and Love.

Amazing that Izzy performed during the whole set. Waiting to hear if he played the final show of the tour.

The trolls here remind of Genghis Khan, they can't be happy unless other's fail. Axl stayed on with his band and is succeeding, Duff is amazing live, too and Slash left the band for dead and is succeeding so the only one failing is the haters.

You should know by now who you work for: a mentally unstable, self-professed God. It would actually rouse a modicum of respect from me if you stopped sucking on his titties and fucked off on your own.
