Former PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN and current HELLYEAH drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott is one of a number of musicians who have come out in support of LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe, who is facing manslaughter charges in the Czech Republic.

Blythe, 41, is accused of causing the fatal injury that occurred at LAMB OF GOD's May 24, 2010 show in Prague. The singer allegedly either pushed or struck a 19-year-old fan named Daniel N. — a guitarist in a local metal band — and that person died almost a month later of bleeding in the brain.

Randy has been charged with causing "bodily harm of the fourth degree, resulting in the death of a fan" and faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Vinnie Paul's brother "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, the co-founder and lead guitarist of PANTERA, was killed on December 8, 2004 while performing with DAMAGEPLAN at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio.

Speaking to Loudwire about Blythe's incarceration, Vinnie said (see video below), "I'd just like to say, to start with, it's a bad situation all the way around. I mean, some situations are kind of screwy here and there; [but this is] a bad situation all the way around. I don't know anything about their laws over there [in the Czech Republic], I don't know exactly what happened, but, to me, it seems like [Randy is] being made some kind of scapegoat."

He continued, "After seeing what happened first-hand to my brother, none of us thought that there was an evil bone in that guy's [Nathan Gale] skin when he came up on stage — he looked like a security guard or a cop — and ten seconds later, four people are dead. So you don't know what these people's intentions are when they come up on stage. Slash has been attacked on stage… several [other] people [as well]. You just don't know. You don't know if that's gonna be a high five, or a loose cannon with a fucking knife. So, if [Randy] did anything to protect himself, he had a right to, as far as I'm concerned. There's no way I could picture Randy Blythe wanting to harm anybody — he's the fucking nicest guy in the fucking world. It's just a bad situation. And we feel for the person that died; obviously, that's a tragedy. But, once again, like I said, we don't live there, we don't know exactly what happened, but it sure does look like [Randy is] paying a price for something that maybe he didn't do."
