BILL WARD On JON LORD: 'He Is Well-Proven As A Part Of Rock's Historical Journey' - July 17, 2012

BLACK SABBATH drummer Bill Ward (pictured below) has released the following statement regarding the passing of former DEEP PURPLE keyboardist Jon Lord:

"My wife and I wish to respectfully send out condolences to the Lord family. News of the recent passing of Jon Lord has been met with sadness in our house. Reflecting upon his keyboard sounds, I must endorse how much he brought in originality and vision to the defining edge of hard rock. He is well-proven as a part of rock's historical journey and will not be forgotten.

"Thank you, Jon Lord. Rest in peace."

That's the best to say in this situation. We never met or knew Mr. Lord on a personal level so we can simply say THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT MUSIC!

...that the (so-called) Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame dropped the ball on this one. The fact that Deep Purple has not yet been inducted just proves that they have NO IDEA what bands have created the foundation for this undying genre we call rock/metal.
How foolish they will (or should!) feel when the surviving member s have to accept Jon Lord's induction posthumously in his honor.

A Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame with no Rush, Kiss or DEEP PURPLE simply is NOT complete.

'nuf said.
