Prague Reporter Discusses RANDY BLYTHE Case In New Video Interview - July 11, 2012
WTVR-TV, the CBS television affiliate based in Richmond, Virginia, spoke to Jonathan Crane, a reporter with the Prague Post, about LAMB OF GOD singer Randy Blythe, who was arrested in the Czech Republic two weeks ago on manslaughter charges. You can watch video footage of the chat at this location.

Blythe remains behind bars in a Czech prison after the Prague State Attorney's Office filed a complaint against the singer's release on bail.

On Monday (July 9), the attorney's office spokeswoman Štepánka Zenklová confirmed that the complaint was delivered to the Prague 8 district court this past Friday (July 6).

Zenklová told the Prague Daily Monitor that she could not specify the justification of the complaint. The Prague City Court will deal with it now.

The complaint was filed with a Prague district court that was in charge of the case. It is to pass the decision-making on the bail to the City Court.

The City Court can either meet the complaint and annul the bail or it can approve the release on bail, and then the Prague attorney would comment on it again, district court judge Petr Fassati said.

It's not clear as to whether there will be another hearing, or if the judgment will be made independently.

"It could be days, it could even be weeks," Crane told WTVR-TV. "Our legal experts said that sometimes these things could take up to months."

"The legal expert said it could take six months," said Crane, referring to the trial.

Blythe, 41, is accused of causing the fatal injury that occurred at LAMB OF GOD's May 24, 2010 show in Prague. The singer allegedly either pushed or struck a 19-year-old fan named Daniel N. — a guitarist in a local metal group — and that person died almost a month later of bleeding in the brain.

Randy has been charged with causing "bodily harm of the fourth degree, resulting in the death of a fan" and faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Crane discussed the video footage that has popped up online which allegedly shows three different incidents involving the fan. Friends of Daniel say that isn't him in the video. Again, confusion surrounds this case as fans wait for answers and Blythe's release.

"Police have not been cooperative and haven't answered these questions and so it just breeds more uncertainty," Crane told WTVR-TV.

"The worry with this is how it will affect other heavy metal groups that want to come to the Czech Republic," said Crane.

He added, "We must not forget at the end of the day, a young boy lost his life, and a mother lost her son."

According to WTVR-TV, a U.S. defense attorney for Blythe will remain overseas until Saturday. No confirmation yet if that means the singer could be released by then. Blythe's wife is also in the Czech Republic with the attorney.

Wow, months? I wonder if the band will begin to tour with a different singer if this drags on? I mean, that's their livelihood, the dudes have to eat.

Far be it from me to criticize the CR, as it looks to be a beautiful country, but this is fucked up! Shit or get off the pot. Release him, or give the money back.

So if he is found innocent would they give him his (worst case) six months back? Something to the tune of 100,000$ or 2,000,000 Czech pebbles?

We have been told on many occasions that Randy "called audience members up on stage and Randy punched Daniel several times in the face, slammed him down on the ground and Randy proceeded to choke Daniel as he proceeded to sing." Holy shit! Randy is the biggest asshole for that. These are still photos taken by Martin Kroa of 'Daniel, following a supposed body-slam and beating from Randy, who is now choking him out.

wow! You really see those pictures as evidence against Randy? The first one the guy is clearly having a good time and on the second Randy is putting the mic closer to his mouth for the 2 of them to sing along. You can see Randy's hand is on the back of Daniel's neck.

And they might not make a bail decision for weeks or months?

I'm definitely not familiar with Czech law but from what I can gather from reading about this it seems like their legal system is a bit of a mess.

I support the czech's case because this is not just a shakedown you fools. Just because he growls into a microphone doesn't make him any more special than you or I. You all speak of him and give him way too much credit like he's making dreams come true by choking and pinning him down on he stage to "sing".

Clearly guilty all the way.

Of course they're going to hold him indefinitely if you give people the impression you're going to flee the country as soon as they let you out.

The US embassy in Prague needs to get its shit together and help expedite this case so that a US CITIZEN isn't detained for a bullshit charge, which he still hasn't even been officially charged, for MONTHS! This is potentially life ruining not only for Randy, but for all of his bandmates, family, crew, and anyone else who works with the band.

Life changing?? Like for the poor kid that died? and his family and his friends and his bandmates? Are you sayin just because Randy fan killer Blythe is a US Citizen that he should get special treatment? They know if they let him go he's never coming back so I don't blame the Czechs for holding him. We would do the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot, no?

You guys are so brain washed by the fact that this scum is in a band and that the law and evidence doesn't apply to him?

I'm sorry, but that video footage is clearly Daniel. If not, then there were two identical twins at the same damn show doing the same shit. I paused it countless times and viewed every angle possible to ensure myself that it's the same person from the photo's. Now as far as the other reports, there very well COULD have been more to it than these 3 clips. There COULD have been more altercations and what not...just like, that young man COULD have had a weapon. One of the security guards COULD have been whacking off during the concert. Point is, you arrested this man without ANY proof other than hearsay. The only thing concrete about this entire case are the walls surrounding a possible innocent man.

Here's what they know. LoG played there that evening, a fan recklessly endangered his life by acting like the video shows, Blythe barely got any strength behind a shove to a fan that a security guard was already pushing off the stage with a lot of force, the same fan made another attempt at which a security guard pulls him down and he lays in agony. 14 days later, fan died. That's what they KNOW. So until then, Randy is innocent and should be released. You've had two fucking years to investigate this, and you have about as much evidence as the rest of us from one person's cell phone video.

I can call the cops right now and say I just witnessed somebody do something, but until they have solid proof I'm not some lying jack off who may have had a few friends go along with me to make the story more believable, that person isn't getting shit. I'm aware of the law differences, but imprisoning someone you only have innocent proving evidence for is unjust anywhere in this world. Keep his bail money like the greedy pigs you are, and let him out until you can get some evidence proving he killed this fan.

I'm sure the victim's family aren't happy with the way their justice system is handling this. Not doing a damn thing for 2 years about their loved one's death, then randomly making it world news two years later for some cash. Had LoG never toured there again, the case would have been unsolved. Corruption at it's finest.

Not happy with the police,it could take months, sounds like they are more interested in having a famous person on the hook than actually getting to the heart of the matter!
