New STATIC-X Lineup Confirmed - July 8, 2012
The new touring lineup of the industrial metal band STATIC-X will consist of the following musicians:

Wayne Static - Guitar, Vocals
Sean Davidson - Drums
Ashes - Guitar
Brent Ashley - Bass

Speaking to Loudwire, Wayne stated about his new bandmates, "We all get along really good, actually. It's kind of a different vibe behind the scenes. As far as onstage, though, it's all business. We all have a great time as always and put on a great show. This tour in particular, we're playing a lot of old stuff off of the first two records."

Regarding his decision to resurrect STATIC-X, Wayne said, "I really just wanted to go back to old-school STATIC-X since the band has been gone for a few years. The last tour I was on I did a lot of my solo stuff, and I'm ready to get back to old-school STATIC-X stuff, which is actually new again."

STATIC-X's upcoming trek will mark the band's first outing since they announced a hiatus in 2009.

Athough none of the other original members — Tony Campos (bass), Koichi Fukuda (guitar) and Nick Oshiro (drums) — will be joining Wayne on this tour, Tony is supportive of his former bandmate's decision to reform the group, saying, "I'm proud of my years with STATIC-X, and want to see the name of the band stay alive and well. I hope that all of our fans will continue to support both Wayne and I in our individual endeavors."

"Cult of Static", the latest album from STATIC-X, sold 19,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 16 on The Billboard 200 chart.

STATIC-X's previous CD, "Cannibal", opened with more than 30,000 copies back in April 2007 to land at No. 36. This represented a slight drop from the 35,000 tally registered by the band's "Start A War" album, which came out in June 2005 and debuted at No. 29.

Wow, and here I thought Ken Jay was the original drummer of the band.

this is gross. Tony said that for a reason, but i'm not at liberty to say why.

Wayne's solo tour was 90% static-x songs anyways, and his solo record blew ass anyways. RIP Static-X

Seriously, Fuck off.

"Oh, I know something but I'm not gonna tell you what it is!"

You're so full of shit. The only "in" you have with the band is the inside of Wayne Static's rectum.

Some friends and I drove from East Jordan, Michigan over to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to see the Milwaukee Metalfest. We stopped at a store on the way and picked up Static X's Wisconsin Death Trip. Since we were on our way to the Metalfest in Milwaukee, it was perfect ! That was an awesome time, 5000 metalheads, 80 bands, 2 days haha

Wayne made a solo album because contractually he couldn't make a Static-X album.

I'm fairly certain this is just his solo touring band.

Unless I was mistaken, when I saw Static X play their first ever UK date in Wolverhampton supporting System of a Down a long, long time ago (back when I had hair and Nu Metal was supposedly cool), Ken Jay was drumming for them and did on at least their first two albums.

I'll be honest, I don't know why I've just commented on this because I don't really care.

Whatever pays the bills I suppose, fair play to the guy for carrying on, they were a good band but it was never really rocket science guitar wise....

Honestly? Who fucking cares about the guitar that much?? Do you all get together and jack off to the heavier, meaner guitar riffs or something??? It a song has it, it has IT! Why must you all go off on technicality? It's like comparing your fucking dick size or if this car or that car has a better engine or a hemi in it...sorry but who really gives a fuck about that crap??? Ok yah, I obviously can't play a guitar but I KNOW good sounding songs when I hear them and I could give two fucks and a shit if it's really hard to play the guitar on the song...that's the furthest thing from my mind...that doesn't "make" or "break" a song! Listen with your ears! Not your brains on guitar knowledge for fuck's sake!!!

Wonder if he'll still have his pornstar wife go-go dancing onstage... That's one of the only things left he's got going.

But I thought he played a lot of Static-X material on his solo tour anyways? I guess by resurrecting the band name he thinks he'll be able to draw a bigger crowd to his shows.

Most people are complete morons. They pay to see half KISS and one guy from Guns and Roses with a bunch of paid employees, they will see "Static X" if they remeber "Push It" and will never even know the band is different..as long as the "singer" had the dumb hair, they will leave happy...

Wayne Static's solo band consists of Brent Ashley on Bass, and Ashes on guitar.

Blabbermouth lists the drummer for Static-X as "Sean Davidson", while the drummer for Wayne's solo stuff is credited as Sean "Animal" Everett. There might be a typo there though.

Either way, what the fuck Wayne?!? The solo gig doesn't pan out so you re-brand yourself as Static-X now?

Absolute bullshit.

Even the best artists have for-hire musicians.

For example, Alice Cooper and Joe Satriani, anyone?
