DUFF MCKAGAN: The Most Annoying Question I Get Asked - July 6, 2012
KiroTV.com recently conducted an interview with Duff McKagan (VELVET REVOLVER, DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED, GUNS N' ROSES). You can now watch the chat below.

When asked, "What is the most annoying question you get asked?", McKagan replied. "The question I get asked the most, at rock gigs, is, 'When is your band getting back together?' When is GUNS getting back together?' I understand ]why people want to know], so I don't get annoyed, because it's out of love — they love that lineup, the original lineup of the band. So I get it, so I try to answer it the best I can. [And my answer is] probably never, ya know?! But I never say never... It would be fun, if we did it. It would have to be for the right reasons, of course."

GUNS N' ROSES lead singer Axl Rose skipped the band's induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April and declined to be inducted along with the rest of the group. The singer also reaffirmed that there is no chance of the original lineup reuniting, and seemed to speak directly to fans still hoping for a reunion when he added, "Time to move on. People get divorced. Life doesn't owe you your own personal happy ending especially at another's, or in this case several others', expense."

In at least a partial nod to his former bandmates, however, Rose wrote, "For the record, I would not begrudge anyone from GUNS their accomplishments or recognition for such. Neither I or anyone in my camp has made any requests or demands of the Hall Of Fame. It's their show, not mine."

Original GN'R members Slash, Steven Adler and Duff McKagan, along with later members Matt Sorum and Gilby Clarke, performed three songs at the induction ceremony in Cleveland. They were joined on vocals by Myles Kennedy, who sings in Slash's solo band.

I was almost sure that the most annoying question he gets asked is, "Are you gay?"

I just met him a few days ago and he was extremely down to earth, cool, and casual. It was at the Auburn WA date of Mayhem and he wasn't even backstage. He was just hanging out in the general public area talking with fans.

Aside from the obvious, my other guess would have been in reference to the story about Duff allegedly sitting next to Kurt Cobain on a flight home to Seattle days before he died, "Were you really the last person to talk to him? How did he seem? What did he say?"

Yes, I live in the live rock/metal music black hole known as Syracuse (Clay/Liverpool actually) - stuck between the rock and hard places of Albany and Rochester/Buffalo. Many miles logged chasing the quality and diversity that seems to skip over Central New York....

I'd really like to see Slash, Duff, Gilby, Steven, & Matt tour with Myles singing. Call themselves Guns And Roses and just tear the house down. (Matt & Adler can split duties or use 2 drums simultaneously, I don't care how, they can work it out).

They KILLED IT at the RnRHOF on a moments notice and I would in a million years pay to see them instead of Axl's version. First, they'd probably be on time. Second, it wouldn't be some watered-down, overproduced production (with 3 guitars & keyboards & backup singers). It would be In-Your-Face BALLS OUT ROCK!

Myles has pipes, the band has charisma, and the fans would go apeshit. They would outsell Axl and would most definitely produce better records (20 years for Chinese Democracy? Mediocre Rock at best)

But that's me.

WHY THE FUCK DON'T THEY DO THIS?!?!?!?!?!!?

The most annoying question DJ Ashba gets asked is... "How does Axl's dick taste?"
