Rachel Maddow did a story on some coal company lobbyist putting up 4,000 phony sigs for some "let us pollute" petition. The beginning of the story had a screen cap of the WH petition page, and there was the LoG petition right on Page 1.

I am not sure where you are coming from. He posted the bail and they are still holding him. If the prosecuter had the right to object to the bail, why not do it before they accepted the $200,000. Something here does not appear kosher and people want to bring attention to it. Is your suggestion the man sits in a jail cel for the next month before anyone says something?

Awful situation all around, but facts are facts.

1) He is in a foreign country and privy to their laws and legal practices. End of Story! When you go abroad and check in with the State Department, they make it blatantly clear that if you violate a law in a foreign country, the US will make no attempt to alleviate your situation. (Look it up)

2) Yes, he posted the bail money, but isn't free. In the Czech Republic, posting the bail money is a good faith effort to show your cooperation and further your legal proceedings. If you read up on this subject, he's still being held so the court can re-evaluate his case and examine the particulars before they release him, and its taking time because the Czech government is currently on a federal holiday. In America, we do the same thing, but in our case, the defendant in question is evaluated before bail is posted. Seems backwards in the Czech Republic, but hey, that is what you deal with when you leave the US. And yeah, our courts are closed for federal holidays too. (Refer back to #1)

3) The White House won't do anything, period. As someone else stated, this is not a political issue, or a heavy metal singer being ignored issue. He's not a political prisoner or being detained under any illegal circumstances. Yes, this is entirely unfortunate for all parties involved, but please refer back to point #1 and do some reading up on the subject.

Again, yes this sucks, but unfortunately things in other countries don't work the same as in the USA. When you enter a foreign country and are suspected of breaking the law, you are prone to their punishments.

And money aside, the whole story seems fishy. O. The dude jumps on the stage 3 times and goes at the singer, and 3 times the singer, stage hand, or security gets him off the stage. It's not like they punched him in the head then lifted him up and threw him off the stage.
