'Shockwave 2012' Tour Officially Canceled - July 4, 2012
Due to reasons beyond the band’s control, Los Angeles cyber metallers FEAR FACTORY will not take part in the inaugural "Shockwave 2012" tour, which was scheduled to kick off on July 6 in Seattle, Washington.

Commented the band in a statement: “We are truly disappointed not to be part of the Shockwave tour. We send our sincerest apologies to all our North American fans planning to come out this summer, but we will be back. Please look for FEAR FACTORY headline dates in August."

Added Shockwave organizers: "It is with great disappointment that we have to make this announcement. With the recent departure of VOIVOD from the Shockwave festival lineup, as well as low advance ticket sales, we have decided to pull the plug on the Shockwave festival.

"For purchases made with a credit card, your card will automatically be refunded. All other refunds are available at point of purchase.

"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused."

"Reasons beyond the band's control".

This would include next to no ticket sales, I could only assume.

I was originally interested in this for Voivod and Cattle Decapitation. Now with Voivod gone, I'm not about to drive 50 miles to hear a half hour set from the one band I want to see.

I think more terrible bands would have helped with ticket sales. Instead of having 7 terrible bands and 4 good ones they should have gone with all terrible bands.

Voivod was the selling point for me. Misery Index and Cattle Decap + some FF nostalgia would have been nice, but not at that price, and not with the set lengths the other two bands would have inevitably gotten.

Was looking forward to this. Oh well. Maybe they would have sold more tickets if the new Fear Factory album was any good.

man, I've been totally wanting to see Havok, I hope they still swing by the west coast for another tour nonetheless. Voivod is also on my list of bands to see and I've heard a couple of Cattle Decapitated songs and the band sounds promising. I could care less about the rest of this particular lineup
