Report: LAMB OF GOD Frontman To Remain In Czech Prison For At Least Ten Days - July 2, 2012
**Update**: According to Novinky.cz, Randy Blythe's bail money has not yet arrived at the court account. LAMB OF GOD's management is attempting to transfer the funds as soon as possible. Once the bail has been met, the prosecutor will have to approve Blythe's release before he can leave the prison. Otherwise, the court will determine the conditions of the singer's release.

The original article follows below.

According to Blesk.cz, LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe will remain in the Pankrác Prison in Prague, Czech Republic for at least the next days in connection with the death of a fan more than two years ago.

Although it was reported on Saturday that Blythe would be released today after posting 4 million Czech Koruna bail (approximately $200,000 — an amount which Randy claimed was the equivalent of his annual income), it now appears that the singer won't be able to get his freedom until next week.

Judge Petr Fassati of Prague 8 district court stated: "There may well be certain conditions placed upon [Blythe's] release, such as staying in the Czech Republic, or the availability of a specific address. If the conditions are violated, it could lead to an international arrest warrant being issued."

Blythe, 41, who was arrested on June 27 at the Prague airport on manslaughter charges, is accused of causing the fatal injury that occurred at LAMB OF GOD's May 24, 2010 show in Prague. The singer apparently either pushed or struck a 19-year-old fan named Daniel N. — a guitarist in a local metal band — who had come on stage, and that person died 14 days later of bleeding in the brain. A post-mortem reportedly found that he had not been drunk or under the influence of drugs.

The crime of which Blythe is being accused is punishable by up to ten years in prison, according to popular Czech news web site Novinky.cz.

LAMB OF GOD was scheduled to perform on June 28 at the Rock Café in Prague with SKELETONWITCH and ALL SHALL PERISH but that show ended up getting canceled.

LAMB OF GOD's publicist, Adrenaline PR, issued a statement on Friday stressing that "under no circumstances was there a fight of any kind involved [during LAMB OF GOD's 2010 concert]. This incident deals with a fan that three times during the concert jumped the barricade and rushed Randy during the performance. It is alleged that the third time, security was not able to reach him and that Randy pushed him back into the audience where supposedly he fell and hit his head."

So what's the point in posting bail if it doesn't get you out? I need someone to explain this one to me.

Seriously what the fuck? He posted bail. Let the man go. It wasn't such a 'high priority' for the last two years, so why all of the sudden all the balls and chains?

It's a shakedown that's for damn sure.

He is not out yet because bail comes with conditions. When you get arrested in a foreign country they want to keep you there until it works out.

Hopefully it all works out because he didn't do anything malicious. It was clearly just an accident.

Dude, am I the only one that sees the guy clearly jumping off the stage? They can't possibly think that Randy has the strength to lift a guy off the ground with one hand while throwing him forward. I wonder if it's the parents that are trying to place blame on someone other than their son. You don't throw yourself in front of a moving bus and blame the bus driver. Why do people always have to try to blame someone who's still alive for shit a dead person did?

I sw the same thing, clear as day.

If they 'threw' the guy off stage, then that fan must have weighed about 10 pounds, because he was *launched*, and there's no way a skinny guy like Blythe could pull that off.

That video is CONCLUSIVE evidence that the guy is not the least bit guilty. This whole thing is BS. They're probably shaking him down for money and hope that he'll leave the country and never come back so a few corrupt people in the local government can split his $200,000 bail money.

I've seen the video of Blythe kind of pushing the kid of stage, however in the interest of justice, why was the body guard/ guy with the hat not charged with anything when he was involved in this incident much like Blythe? They're both equally to blame for throwing that kid off stage.

And I'm stating they threw him off the stage not that they killed him.

I know what bail is. He doesn't need to be in jail. He posts it, he leaves the prison. He's not a threat to society. He has no prior convictions. Let him go.

You're keeping a man in jail for this evidence;
- Randy pushed him and he SUPPOSEDLY hit his head when he fell as a result of Randy's 'push'

Here's evidence that supports Randy;
• Who says this guy didn't get in a fist fight two minutes before the show?
• Who says he wasn't elbowed in the head in the mosh pit?
• There's X amount of people in the crowd that could have hit him accidentally, but a 'push' off the stage was the 'killer blow'? Fuckin' serious?
• There's no video evidence of the 'exact push'
• There's no way of proving medically (two years later) that at X time in the evening at X minute at X second, the blow occurred and it was also that exact moment in time that Randy 'pushed him', therefor making any other scenario mentioned above possible
• It's 2 years later and although a crime is a crime, this investigation sounds like total bullshit!

Czech girls are hot, but my God is this absolute rubbish!

The medical evidence was assessed and gathered at the time of the incident & cause of death determined when he died.

The authorities waited the two years to lay charges & arrest Randy Blythe because lamb Of God had not returned their in the interim.

They waited until he returned because to issue an arrest warrant before hand whilst he was back in the Good Ol' U.S.A would have been a waste of time. They have no extradition treaty with the U.S.

The alleged crime took place in the Czech Republic so they took the best option to have him face the charge, like a man, under their laws.

Why was there no international arrest warrant issued two years ago? What if he had never returned to Czech? This apparantly serious crime would have never been punished.

Lastly, what proof do they have? I'm beginning to believe the State Department should be looking into this. I'm sure he's not the cleanest cut citizen from America, but they might want to look into this and make sure that he is being treated fairly in this matter.

Bands should stop going to Czech. It sucks for the fans, but look what has happened. This whole situation is pure crap.

yeah, i think the entire incident is just dumb. If you go to a metal concert, there is a chance that you will be hurt. If you go to a metal concert and jump o stage 3 times, there is an increased chance of getting hurt.

You know how many people jump and fall of stage? Just because this kid was unlucky and landed on his head doesn't mean it was his fault. Wrong place at the wrong time.

First off, Chzech authorities tried to get Blythe extracted after the incident - US authorities however, would not cooperate.

Second of all, there's allgedly considerable more to the story than the isolated incident captured by cameras where Blythe and a guard threw the fan off the stage. Reviews off the 2010 concert written immediately after the show, describes Blythe delievering several blows to the fan. There's also pictures of Blythe holding the fan down on stage with a chokehold.

Don't be so biased, a 19-year old fan died that night. I have faith that the court will reach a verdict based on an objective presentation of the incident by the parties. And until then of course, Blythe is still innocent.

First of all read the update! The bail money hasn't been sent yet! How can they set him free? In every civilised country you've got to pay a bail in order to let you go if you're accused of something!
And stop blaming. the whole European continent for what happened - it's hilarious!
And what about calling Czech Republic (it's CR you idiots not Czechoslovakia - it was split nearly 20 years ago!) a third world country (are you serious???).
Or the other hilarious thing that someone proposed: stop the metal shows in CR!!! Yes in that case every group must stop touring the US soil after the Dimebag incident where A "FAN" GOT INSIDE THE VENUE PASSING THE SECURITY WITH A FUCKING GUN IN HAND!!!
Start thinking and educate yourselves before speaking as Basajaun said!!! And this is not Midnight express you dipshits (as if US jails are 5 stars hotels)!!!
On the other hand and if we look at the case seriously of course it's way strange and suspicious that they arrested him two years later! Where were they all this time and why didn't they searched for him internationaly ...Then again the bail amount is outrageous, that's why he is having hard times in collecting the money...Either way the case is strange and much more complicated than it seems...But please stop with the morronic comments - stay calm! I hope that he gets out quickly because after all this is an eccident by all means...And I'm European but not from CR (although I must say that Prague is the most beautiful city i've visited).

Is the name of the currency.
Facts
LOG mangement left Randy hanging, never should have booked the show
The suit must have been filed at a later date unless LOG management is this naive. Its nearly impossible to seek extradition from the US. We rarely give up our own citizens.
Prague is roughly 7-8 hrs ahead of the US. Randy's management has probably posted bail by now.

Opinion
Its a shame this guy died, but it was nearly 2 years ago. People die, move on, unless you want $$$$$$$$.
Regardless Randy pushed the guy. He could very well be charged for Involuntary Manslaughter.

Either way, Randy will not be leaving Prague for quite some time. Its not even about him being a musician at this point. It will turn into a US citizen locked up abroad, pending a "fair" trial.

No one anywhere believes Randy actually did anything wrong. You're all correct - this is simple extortion. I feel bad for the Czech people as LOG will never tour there again and likely won't even release future music in their territory.

Randy has a family here in VA that is surely terrified right now. This is a sad story and I hope it gains some larger media attention.

FREE RANDY NOW YOU FUCKING CRIMINAL DEGENERATES!

are D.U.M.B. in a very basic sense.

"According to Novinky.cz, Randy Blythe's bail money has not yet arrived at the court account. LAMB OF GOD's management is attempting to transfer the funds as soon as possible.

Once the bail has been met, the prosecutor will have to approve Blythe's release before he can leave the prison. Otherwise, the court will determine the conditions of the singer's release. "

Article says autopsy showed he was not under the fluence of drugs or alcohol!!!
But before THAT, it says he died 14 days AFTER the incident......
THAT doesn't mean he wasn't high as a kite during the SHOW!!!
Almost ANYTHING is out of your system 14 days later.... Randy was protecting HIMSELF!!!! After the first time that dude should have been removed from the show!!!
"FREE RANDY!!!!!"

If in fact the video shown is of the incident in question, I think this vid capture explains a lot.

Would it not seem prudent that if you are Randy Blythe/Lamb of God/LOG management, and they were issues as to if you have charges against you in a certain country, WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU GO AND TOUR IN THAT COUNTRY!! Management is to blame as some people have noted. That is just feeding someone to the lions!! Sounds like trumped up charges, too!! Bullshit!!

----------------------------

Summed up reports about Randys behaviour from that night, via Cone419:

http://sicmaggot.blog.cz/1005/lamb-of-god-praha-abaton-24-5-2010

"Randy behaved exactly as I expected from him. Fucker, who doesn't give a shit. This has been confirmed whan he gave a few fans pretty hard time. He was very upset when someone decided to visit the podium. The first one got hit quite a lot from Randy, then he jumped on top him and held him down while he continued singing. When he was standing up, he choked him a little bit for him to remember. When the fan got up Randy grabed him by the hair and threw down quite quickly. Good thing for that gentleman was so drunk (his frinds said that he was actually sober) that he felt nothing.

http://www.metalopolis.net/art_concerts.asp?id=5263

"LAMB OF GOD have the almost perfect metal image - long hair and bearded faces make a strict impression and singer Randy proved a moment later, that it is not just a pose when he absolutely grimly took down a guy who already climbed several times on stage. Frontman made it clear where is his territory, the tresspasser felled to the ground, singer had given him a few right hooks and then threw him of the stage while he even didn't stop singing(!)."

http://www.abysszine.com/2010050036-lamb-of-god-rust2dust.html

"The only negative aspect of that concert was a mildly controversial approach from LAMB OF GOD towards the stagedivers. In the heat of passion, some of the fans began climbing on the stage ... and in that moment, "Lamb of God" turned into a angry ram, when the fan was very brutally swept back down. I admit that I have never seen such a thing . Yeah, I can understand that not every band is curious about cheeky fans getting on stage. But there was always an unwritten limits to which the band and almost all fans kept, except the most drunkest assholes. LAMB OF GODs attitude was quite unnecessarily exaggerated to me ."

Well, the video is clear. Randy didn't push him of the stage. And a "few right hooks" (If it is true), Randy must be stronger than Mike Tyson.

Follow the link below to see ALL THREE TIMES this fan got onto the stage. While this is an unfortunate incident, it is clear that if anyone needs to be help responsible for this fan's death, it is the security team that was put in place by the venue..... This is proof positive that Randy needs to be release immediately and all charges be dropped!!

The guy clearly hit his head the first dive. That's enough resonable doubt for all charges to be drop.

Jesus Christ...the last time, he clearly landed head first! If anyone watched the slow motion of the 3rd incident, when security shoves him back, his head is going STRAIGHT down to the ground, with legs completely up in the air. What more evidence can they ask for??

If they charges are based on the video, anyone can see that was the security guard the one who pushed the fan. However, apparently there are people saying that it was not what you can see on the video when Randy hit that guy. Anyway, of course there is self-defence, but in order to use that as a defence in a criminal trial you must prove that you were being attacked or than an attack was inminent. I can not believe when I read some comments that support the position that if a guy jumps on stage the singer or any other member of the band or security guard can beat the shit of that person. No, that would be an offence. Only if there is an actual attack or an inminent one can you attack other person. Otherwise, you can commit an offence. A crime also can be commited if you throw a guy off the stage and he falls and suffer an injury or death, because what can be done is to remove that person from the stage, buy you are no allowed to beat him under any circunstance, except in case of self-defense and only a sufficient atack to prevent from being hit. So, this is the bottom line. I like LOG and Randy seems to be a cool guy, but if he hit that guy just because the guy was annoying then Randy may have commited an offence and he is not above the law. Period.

NOW RANDY IS TOTALLY NOT GUILTY. WE ALL KNOW THIS.

We are talking about criminal law, not about social rules in concerts. Two different worlds. So, that rule you mention does not apply in criminal law.

THis really sucks. This puts a cloud over LoG indefinetely

having said that, I would be extremely inclined to believe that LoG management must really be naive and incredibly arrogant and stupid if they went ahead and took the chance to book the band in the CR when they knew that prosecutors in the CR had attempted even contemplated issuing an international arrest warrant for this incident 2 years ago. What are they thinking? This really looks bad. Something tells me whoever is managing LoG better start looking for a new client b/c LoG is gonna fire their assess in the not too distant future.

Assuming Randy is released on bail-will he even be allowed to leave the country until the trial? Or does LoG have to shift home opertaions to the CR for the immediate future? And knowing how things can drag out in the legal system-how long will it take for this to even come to trial? And if Randy is exonerated of all charges, who pays then? Who makes up for the lost income generating by the LoG machine? Where is the victims family left? Should I sell my LoG/Dethklok tickets for the Lowell Mass gig? And where the fuck is their record company when the band obviously needs some major help now not after the holiday passes. LoG management should be enlisting their attorneys and the attorneys from their record company to lean on the state dept to look into helping this American citizen with a legal problem in a foreign country. 4th of July vacation holiday be damned!

If there is ever a new LoG cd of new material after this is finally resolved, this whole thing certainly would inspire me to want to read Randy's lyrics based on all of the terrible experiences he is having right now. And to persevere thru all of this would be incredible. And if this all turns out to be simply a desperate cash grab attempt by the family and authorities, I would really be pissed if I were in LoG because this event is going to really bring the band to the brink of ruin financially with all the legal costs, loss of income from touring etc, and to think-if the bands management knew about this and kept it on the downlow in the mistaken delusion that no one is going to try and have Randy prosecuted and imprisoned only to see that blow up in their faces-that is really shameful and deceitful. THis really sucks! And someone died possibly due to simply attending a metal show and acting like an ass by jumping onstage 3 times. What a mess.
