LAMB OF GOD: Video Footage Of Alleged Fatal Stage Incident Available? - July 1, 2012
Slow-motion video footage of what may or may not be the stage incident which allegedly resulted in the death of a fan at a LAMB OF GOD concert in the Czech Republic more than two years ago can be seen below. The clip was originally aired yesterday (Saturday, June 30) as part of a TV report from Czech Republic's TV Nova.

**UPDATE**: It should be noted that the TV Nova report did not claim that this was, in fact, footage of actual stage jump that that led to the person's death. The performance clip from LAMB OF GOD's 2010 concert in Prague was only included in the report to illustrate the behavior of vocalist Randy Blythe and the fans during the show.

Blythe was arrested Wednesday (June 27) at the Prague airport and is accused of causing the fatal injury that occurred at LAMB OF GOD's May 24, 2010 show in the city's Abaton venue. The singer apparently pushed a 19-year-old fan named Daniel N. — a guitarist in a local metal band — who had come on stage, and that person died 14 days later of bleeding in the brain. A post-mortem reportedly found that he had not been drunk or under the influence of drugs.

According to Czech media reports, Blythe will be released on 4 million Czech Koruna bail (approximately $200,000 — an amount which Randy claimed was the equivalent of his annual income). Since most banks are closed this weekend, Blythe will be allowed to pay off his bail on Monday (July 2).

The crime of which Blythe is being accused is punishable by up to ten years in prison, according to popular Czech news web site Novinky.cz.

LAMB OF GOD was scheduled to perform on Thursday at the Rock Café in Prague with SKELETONWITCH and ALL SHALL PERISH but that show ended up getting canceled.

LAMB OF GOD's publicist, Adrenaline PR, issued a statement on Friday stressing that "under no circumstances was there a fight of any kind involved [during LAMB OF GOD's 2010 concert]. This incident deals with a fan that three times during the concert jumped the barricade and rushed Randy during the performance. It is alleged that the third time, security was not able to reach him and that Randy pushed him back into the audience where supposedly he fell and hit his head."

Pictured below is the victim, Daniel N.

Nobody ever does - well, maybe if you willingly paid to see GG Allin way back when - but this was a LAMB OF GOD show!
Not a 3 JACKS & A JILL show! (outskirts of Kansas City)

What happened w/Pearl Jam in Copenhagen was the promoters/venues fault. They didn't set up as per PJ's contract & Eddie V's haunted to this day about what the band could've/should've to prevent nine kids from being killed.
That was also a festival where PJ happened to be onstage at the time.
Great White in RI a different story. Complete lack of common sense.
If you're Randy Blythe, though? Man. His actions killed a kid. A fan! I mean, that's some heavy shit to have to burden.
No way in hell he intended to even injury him, but that was pretty aggressive & could've been handled differently.
Hope he avoids jail.
Sucks all around.

Dude, the guy jumped once he got near the end of the stage. Do you really think Randy has the strength to throw a guy in the air that high with one arm, while slinging him forward at the same time? Fucking retarded! The dude started running, and then jumped, and just so happened to have randy and another dude behind him giving him a little motivation to get the fuck off the stage. What a crock of shit.

if justice exists, he´s to blame, not that he intended to kill him but murder without intention is a crime

Manslaughter is not "murder without intention." Killing a person does not equate to murder. That's why murder and manslaughter are different charges. There's Murder 1 (planned out ahead of time), Murder 2 (not planned out but still meant to kill and not self-defense), and manslaughter (causing someone's death unintentionally).

I've been to plenty of shows where singers push back audience members like that. It's just not safe having them on stage. Also am I the only one that thinks that other guy behind/to the right of randy is to blame if we're really gonna point fingers? He pushed the kid just as hard if not as hard as Randy did. The kid should have been kicked out after the first 2 times getting on the stage. Randy is innocent.

Two guys are shown pushing someone, not just Randy Blythe. The other guy with the hat pushing someone off the stage is who, security, road crew, who? I know who the other guy is -- someone without money. Shakedown scheme, Czech style.

Where is the video where you can identify Daniel N. as the person getting pushed off the stage? There is no such video. Prove this happened. No one can, but the Czechs can certainly hold Randy Blythe until he pays them $200,000.

This entire case stinks. It's just a shakedown to get money out of LOG.

If this was such a big deal, why was there any action done in the two years since it happened?

Czech Republic is still deeply corrupt like all Eastern European counties. Decades of sovietization still lingers. This is just about money. I bet the victim has family members in the local police or the magistrates office or something like that.

Randy will be free soon enough, and I feel sorry for metal fans in the CR as well as other countries in Europe since most bands will avoid playing in these countries from now on.

It looks to me like the dude was running to the front of the stage and just jumped.

Maybe the singer and the roadie had a hand on his back in some kind of half-assed way, but it's clear to me that the guy was moving very quickly on his own power and didn't receive much assistance from being "pushed."

If anyone pushed him to go faster, it was the stage hand, not the singer, who was still singing as he reached out. And even the stage hand looked more like he was chasing the guy than pushing him.

By the looks of it (from what I'M seeing at least), Randy grabbed the guy by the hair (not cool, but not a manslaughter worthy charge), and then motioned him towards the front of the stage; when at the same time the security dude with the cap double shoved him over back into the pit.

This shit is circumstantial on Randy's behalf.

If he doesn't get acquitted as soon as the trial starts, then it must be that the family is pushing for money.

Fuck the Czech Republic. Find some other ways to bleed foreigners dry. You've already got the Stag Night trade you greedy bastards :s

This is what will happen.

LOG will have to spend a fuckload of money on lawyers, experts, forensic pathologists, etc, to get the autopsy report and go over every last little detail of the dead guy's body and brain, and they'll find some pre-existing condition that will show he was going to die anyway regardless if he got shoved off a stage or not.

Did the guy land on his head? Did he get into a fight with someone else that night? Did he have any past head trauma?

This video really doesn't help the case that Randy is remotely responsible for the death of this kid.

Yea the singer has the fan by the hair, reaching seemingly blindly behind him with one hand and the mic in the other hand. This could not constitute a fatal push; more like an off-balance pull, due to lack of leverage by the singer. While the fan had some forward momentum going, the security guy in the cap gave the full frontal two handed push/shove off the stage. Thank goodness there is a recording plainly showing the circumstances.

Oh, and BTW, if the guy was dumb enough to do this 3 times he was definately pushing his luck and it ran out... the saying goes 3 strikes and you're out. Out for good in this case and while I'm sorry for the family it's a case of guilty but mostly stupid. Judge Judy wouldn't put up with any of this shit :)

There is NO WAY that should be considered manslaughter. That was somebody else's decision, not Randy's. It's still very sad and random, but that's the risk people take by stage diving. Things like this may put a permanent lock down on stage diving.

This is ludicrous. If I saw Gaahl barely grab little American Johnny Smith and feebly toss him off a stage (with the help of a 275 pound bouncer) and little Johnny Smith died as a result of that fall, I'd feel bad for Johnny Smith and would be screaming to the heavens (even though Gaahl would not like that) to FREE GAAHL!!

This is the reason no one really tours Eastern Europe or SA a lot. It's not the fans, I would actually argue SA has the greatest Metal fans in the world. Its the corrupt local governments and sleazy promoters that make these countries the no-go zones of the world.

Also watch the video and get your heads out of your asses.

You're a fucking idiot. You can clearly see the kid running on his own accord. He wasnt being dragged, thrown or pushed by enough force to cause extra harm. It seemed the pair (randy and M. bison) was going through the motion, and the kid looked excited to be a part of it...

Im not a big lamb of god fan to begin with you ass hat. Randy is being wrongly detained.

people get pushed, kicked, shoved, tossed from stages all the time. If you are going to jump on a stage you might end up in a whole lotta' pain - or even dead. It's best to follow the golden rule - hit the stage and dive as fast as you possibly can - don't attempt to interact with the band.

Here is another vid.

At 1:13 of this vid, Tom Araya pushs a kid from the stage. The audio is horrible, so turn your speakers down:

Are you being purposely obtuse by posting that supid video over and over? The kid didn't die there. If he had, and that was the USA, Tom would likely have an involuntary manslaughter charge against him. Maybe his friends were there, maybe there are witnesses? When does the mindless speculation end? We can play this game too. Here is a video that shows quite the character of Randy Blythe:

What about the queer czech security guard giving him a shove? This is complete bullshit! Czech courts trying to bleed a half assed famous guy trying to earn a living of a ton of his money! Fuck the czech republic! You and your lame ass security let some dumbass on stage 3 fuckin times until randy half heartedly gave the guy a little shove with no intention of hurting the guy. I feel bad the poor guy died but it was an accident plain and simple. If youre gonna arrest randy, arrest the security guard that clearly shoved him also, he shoulda done his job the 1st time he hopped up on stage.

What does everyone else see here?

I'm in neither camp here, not a big fan, just trying to objectively distinguish what I think is happening, and in my mind you could potentially see a couple of different things depending on how you interpret the situation.

It seems to me that from the moment you see the guy, he's already moving quickly towards the edge of the stage, almost like he was going to willingly jump anyway. I'm not sure how Randy would have the power, in one arm (his left, is he left handed?) to toss the guy like that. Do you see the guy mostly jumping, and just sort of being assisted in doing so? Do you see Randy superman-tossing him with one arm, or do you see the Security (?) guy as the main force behind it? Just curious...

And what about venue security? - It is their responsibility to keep the stage clear for muscians to perform safely.

Insurance for bands and venue's is going to sky rocket because insurance companies are weary of everyone in society looking to take each other to court.

It's only a matter of time before metal show's become seated only.

"A post-mortem reportedly found that he had not been drunk or under the influence of drugs."

Yeah, sure. 14 days makes anyone sober and clean.

What about that night? Was the guy drunk or on drugs that night? Did he even hit his head after that push from the stage? Did he fall on his head or hit it somewhere else sometime after the concert? Did he got into a fight somewhere?

People get thrown off or they jump off the stage, fall off the hands of other people after a crowd surf, fall to the ground or get their faces hit in a moshpit or in a wall of death, in every extreme metal concert around the world. People make their own choices as to how much they participate in the action, everyone knows that accidents can happen. The guy jumped onto the stage and he was pushed off the stage. Whatever happened to him after that push, after that concert, no-one knows.

It's a truly tragic thing that this metal fan died, but he's not coming back no matter his relatives do.

Good catch, most people won't even notice the 14 day gap there. Czech justice -- pay up, no drugs or alcohol therefore their citizen is not responsible for his own actions that caused his own death. Nevermind that 14 days clears out all the foreign substances long before he died and an autopsy was performed. Only the rich American is at fault, not the security guard who pushed him off the stage.

From the video, it doesn't look like Randy had much to do with anything. That sort of shit goes on at many concerts. He probably should have just stepped back and let security handle it, but in the heat of the moment, when some clown rushes you for the third time, anyone is bound to throw their best judgement out the window for a second.

Being from Sweden, I love your country. I have probably been to more states and cities in the US than the average American citizen touring with my band and when visiting on vacations. I can very possibly see myself living there some day. People are generally easy-going and friendly and naturally polite to strangers.

That being said, your attitude toward other countries and cultures can be frightening sometimes. Most of you have probably never heard about the Czech Republic until this day, and yet you draw so many conclusions just by the fact that someone is arrested for being suspected of manslaughter (something which would had happened in any country, including the US). A bail is set, you call it "shakedown". You talk about greed and trying to squeeze money from people, when you yourself have a crazy legal system which is 100% based on money, where people with the best lawyers win and people constantly suing each other.

Please, open your minds to the fact that your country is not the only civilized location in the world, and look at the facts objectively. Your lives will be better for it and the US would earn more respect internationally. With this attitude you are only fueling the general conception that Americans are ignorant of what is going on in the rest of the world.

Sadly, this is true, but I've met a lot of cool Americans, free-thinkers who are aware of the world around them and are pushing for positive change in the U.S. The media there doesn't help either - 'foreign invader' propaganda has been beaten into the public over and over, while the entertainment industry releases movies like 'Hostel' and 'Turistas'. No wonder they're paranoid.

there's another part of the video where the guy filming is on the side of the stage, and you see presumably the same guy trying to get back onstage. it looks like the same security guy intercepts him and tosses him back over a barricade. as the camera pans down you can see that he's on the ground. maybe that's where he hurt his head?

either way, this is a shakedown as a lot of people have said. the security guy should be held accountable as well since he had a hand in "contributing" to this guy's death.

Head trauma is tricky, could be days before he shows any actual signs, in this case probably hours. Sounds like an ambulance chasing family and attorney. Hope Blythe keeps his cool in there.

when you stage dive, you take the liability into your own hands, as you are doing something beyond a normal concert going experience. If Blythe jumped into the pit it would be a different matter, but the kid came up to where the band was playing, on thier turf. nobody made that kid get up on stage, he did it himself and the result was him getting pushed back into the crowd he left in the first place. If there is any justice in europe, this will be thrown out.

I am going to be honest right here. No siding at all. The stage diver looked like he was diving at his own will and simply guided offstage first by the bouncer & then by Randy. He was already going. I've seen singers get brutal going as far as to say "get the f#+k off my stage" then punch dudes. I myself have nailed people with my guitars headstock because they get so close on accident. I just showed the video to my wife & she's like "No way he pushed him!". Give Randy his money back & maybe give enough for the funeral costs. Poor kid. Sucks for LOG too. Nobody wins. They lost a fan & some time as a result of this episode. I hope it all works out.

There are so many reasons why I don't even believe formal charges will ever be filed here.

1. They would need to prove intent.
2. This is clearly not pre-meditated.
3. He was one of 2 people "pushing" the deceased back into the crowd.
4. As someone has already mentioned, the guy looked pretty clearly to be diving all on his own anyway.

In a post-Dimebag world, there simply MUST be a certain level of understanding for how a musician may feel on stage when someone keeps trying to get up there like that. I've seen a lot of news on this, but I'm not 100% sure if this was the guys first trip on stage or not. The USA isn't perfect, but one thing I can virtually guarantee is that if this guy got on stage, he's leaving the venue, not going back into the crowd.

Very sad situation regardless. The guy was probably really drunk and just trying to have his own kind of fun. Unfortunately, any situation can be deadly if you're careless enough. Randy had nothing to do with this man's untimely death and to put him through that is completely unjust.

Did he intend to kill the kid? No. If it is true that this kid died from this fall then Randy Blythe should be held accountable. This video clearly shows that Randy had this kid by his hair with the kids head cocked to the side unable to move it. He jumps off the stage in an way that is directly affected by Randy's physical actions.

Alot of people keep saying he has the right to defend himself. Defend himself against what? Someone else said it best if you are scared of performing live, stay home. But that's not what happened here. The video, imo, shows that Randy pulled a tough guy move on a kid at his show and was directly involved in the chain of events.

I for one hope he is held accountable.

As a metal fan, you take certain risks. Like when you join in the *Wall of Death. It is called the Wall of Death for a reason.

I think they are poisoning this kids memory by trying to throw Randy in jail for murder. If I were at my fav bands show (NIN), and I died. You better play every NIN record at my funeral, because I died one happy motherfucker.

Accidents happen, and not every accident is manslaughter. I am sorry for the family of this kid. But this is Securities fault. This video doesn't prove shit. You cannot even tell if that is the same person. This video could of been obtained from a million shows.

It doesn't matter who or how hard pushed the guy off stage. All that matters is what the guy told his parents / friends / authorities when he was bleeding in his brain. He (or a friend of his who was at the show) told them that the singer threw him off the stage and now he's dead. That's it. Forget proof. This is Czechoslovakia we're talking about. How come they always violently toss kids ON TOP OF the people standing in front of the stage instead of just leading them off to the side?

I had nothing to do on stage but ...man I did nothing that bad trying to having fun that deserved to be beaten...I could have died that night and these fuckers, in such a case would have been murderers....but when I see this video, I see a tragic accident...

We should look at what happened to Dimebag and maybe respect that might freak some musicians out. I for-one would not want some person running at me or around me on stage. That kid was allegedly told 3 times. Personal responsibility for your actions. Securities fault.

I refuse to believe that Randy Blythe is powerful enough to propel a full grown man like that with his left arm. Even with the security guards help he couldn't have achieved that velocity. The dude jumped!

Unless Randy has superhuman strength I don't think that one arm push could do much. Randy is a skinny dude, how much force could he really have used with one arm. Way the fuck overblown. This kids stupidity killed him.

On actually seeing the incident for the first time now, it should be clear to anyone with half a brain and an ounce of common sense, that there's no way that Randy is guilty of manslaughter. Even if the fan died as a direct result of the aftermath of what is shown in this video, (if he landed on his head) Randy is clearly not guilty of what he's been accused of. Between Randy and the M. Bison lookalike security dude, M. Bison uses more force when pushing the kid than Randy.

Also, the kid himself uses some of his own momentum to jump from the stage. Randy has the kid by the hair, and is only using one hand to do so. Randy is not He-Man, or anything like it! He would need to have immense (and way beyond average) strength in that arm to throw that fan with anywhere the amount of force required to cause a fatal accident.

If this is the main evidence, and actual incident that is being used to implicate Randy, then he has no case to answer. As his involvement in this guy's death is clearly minimal, even if he died form injuries caused directly by the actions shown in this video. The fan's death was mostly his own fault, and the M. Bison guy used more force to throw him from the stage than Randy did.

The people saying Randy is a murderer are clearly moronic trolls, and should just be ignored, as replying to them is just giving them what they want.

....... abound all over the planet, even in the U.S.A. Remember Lisl Auman ? She was handcuffed in the back of a police car when somone she had previously shared a car with shot and killed a police officer about half a mile away. She was convicted of felony murder and sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole. She was released after serving 7.5 years of her sentence, but should never have been convicted in the first place. The man is everywhere, and he has no problem in locking you up.

Luckily for Randy Blythe, the penalty for manslaughter in the Czech Republic is being forced to join a shitty metal band.

Most bands don't want fans jumping up on stage, but a few don't mind. Know ahead of time the stance the band's concert you're attending is on this issue. For instance, you just know Lemmy would have thrown this guy off the stage too if it was a Motorhead show.

Ya man I completely agree with you. Randy used his left hand which is obviously his weak hand, the guy is right handed. And it looked like a light shove, because Randy's obviously off balance falling to his left just a bit. Not an angry shove, just enough to get the job done. I'm a singer on stage, the same guy jumps onstage 3 damn times..........if I'm close enough I'm going to get him offstage. I wouldn't want fans that close to me man. I don't know them and I don't know what's going through their minds or what theyve taken beforehand. Not that I'd be a jerk and shove the shit out of em, just keep em from getting too close. Once well ok.....twice and that's enough man, you had your fun. Anyone should be able to tell it was an accident. The push wasn't very forceful and I'm sure neither Randy or the other guy gauged the distance just right so that this guy would land that way......

From a Czech message board:

http://youtu.be/2gvziJoMw-c

Photo claiming to show the real stage fight on the night of the event.

As the update above says, what's on the video is just one of several times that the guy got on stage, and it's obvious that nothing even remotely serious happened there.

There is no way this is the actual footage. Why is the M. Bison security guy in the video not ALSO held on murder/manslaughter charges? Clearly he used more force than Randy.

Like the article says, this is footage demonstrating what happens at their shows, I'm sure people jump up/get thrown off fairly often, but this can't be the actual incident. No way.

My guess is M. Bison isn't being held cuz he probably don't have any fucking money......or famous. Also, I just realized just how many metalheads here know who M. Bison is LOL
