LAMB OF GOD Returns Home Without Singer RANDY BLYTHE - July 1, 2012
Four-fifths of LAMB OF GOD — everyone except singer Randy Blythe — returned home to Virginia last night, less than four days after Blythe was taken into custody in Prague, Czech Republic in connection with the death of a fan more than two years ago.

LAMB OF GOD guitarist Mark Morton wrote on Twitter, "Finally HOME! 4/5 of us anyway. I can't wait to give Randy a big bear hug and kiss his pointy, stubbly face! Thanx for all the support y'all! Flooded with questions about Randy. I truly understand and appreciate [your] concern. But it would be irresponsible for me to comment on any of it. Again….thank y'all SOOOO much for your love and support during these difficult times. It means the world to us."

Blythe, who was arrested Wednesday (June 27) at the Prague airport on manslaughter charges, will reportedly be released on 4 million Czech Koruna bail (approximately $200,000 — an amount which Randy claimed was the equivalent of his annual income). Since most banks are closed this weekend, Blythe will be allowed to pay off his bail on Monday (July 2).

Blythe, 41, is accused of causing the fatal injury that occurred at LAMB OF GOD's May 24, 2010 show in Prague. The singer apparently pushed a 19-year-old fan named Daniel N. — a guitarist in a local metal band — who had come on stage, and that person died 14 days later of bleeding in the brain. A post-mortem reportedly found that he had not been drunk or under the influence of drugs.

The crime of which Blythe is being accused is punishable by up to ten years in prison, according to popular Czech news web site Novinky.cz.

A video report from Czech Republic's TV Nova on yesterday's court hearing for Blythe can be seen at this location. The two-and-a-half-minute clip appears to contain low-quality footage of the actual incident that resulted in the fan's death (around 57-second mark).

Isn't the level of expectation pretty irrelevant? I'm pretty sure people who take a shower don't expect to die either, but lots of people slip, fall and die in the shower every year, or die from bee stings or peanut allergy or from vending machines that fall over, something tells me those people don't expect to die either...

Yeh I am surprised they just left him there. Wtf? Also, if that was the incident on tape, that wasn't shit as far as stage removal is concerned. I have seen Dukes level some dipshits before.

Exodus better stay out of the Czech Republic.

its this simple: you push someone, he gets injured and dies, you take some vacation in prison,
I´m pretty sure that if that "dumb" kid (whos now dead) weas your rother, son, cousin or whatever, you would expect Randy to be in jail the entire 10 years, you´re so hypocrite when tragedy doenst knock on your door

That's exactly it though -- the people who are family members of said dumbass wouldn't have the perspective of those who can look at the whole thing without bias. This guy put himself in a position to get hurt. Fans don't belong on the stage -- period.

This is bullshit. I mean as fun as it may be stage-diving and so on, the kid is responsible of his own actions when getting up on stage, which he ain't allowed to. It's like in America (at least some states) if someone gets in your yard or in your house, the resident has a right to shoot you, if I'm not mistaken? This is the same thing in a different way. Kid shouldn't be on stage, yet he gets up three times, he got handled. No one's fault but his own. There was a similar incident like this with Life of Agony in the 90's, when a fan got up on stage and took a dive, hit his head and died.

It was an accident, end of story.

I think the venue should state, somewhere and somehow, that some indoor behaviours are practiced at your own risks, or whatever. There's got to be some legal definition of responsibility about what people are doing during a show at a given venue.

I don't know what Czech laws are; if he makes bail, is he free to leave the country until he gets tried for manslaughter? I would suspect not.

Czech Republic is anti metal, plain and simple. Randy LOVE TAPPED that kid and he obviously died of something else.... You haters need to get into a mosh pit sometime and see what it's like... and for fuck's sake, stop acting so self-righteous. Hundreds of people die in pita every year, because they are inherently risky... but I only see one band and singer getting blamed. Why? Because Daniel N's boyfriend is a whiny bitch!

American football is inherently risky. Yet the NFL is currently currently facing over 1000 lawsuits from former players who have suffered head tauma as a result of playing the game.

The players all wear helmets so it would be safe to assume the risk of head injury is well known.

Are these lawsuits also "bullshit" ? Are they a "shakedown" ?

America is the land of litigation and frivolous lawsuits. Take these from 2011 for example:

1)KIdnapper sues victims for failing to help him evade police.
2) Fat guys sues burger joint for not having enough room between table and seat.
3)Woman sues for false advertising over a movie trailer: There wasnt enough "driving" in the movie Drive as portrayed by the trailer - or closer to home -
4) Man takes gun illegally into a bar, gets in a fight, gets injured then sues the bar for failing to search him for the gun.

But apparently the Czech lawsuit & legal system is all corrupt and about money ?

The Czech Republic is considering Randy flight risk... because there are so many stage divers on airplanes... so no, the band can't be expected to live over there forever when they have families and stuff.

Jerry Only and Doyle were far more brutal than this guy, except that they had the brains to do it in safer places, and never kicked the guy down to the pit, they beat them up on stage for all to see;
Randy dont have any clue about czech laws, BTW ... if the security guy has part of the blame, it doesnt take any of Randy´s, catch the other guy and both must be heard on court

The security guy should have handled the situation. Randy was doing his thing when someone came near him...he pushed the man (the guy was not a kid) out of the stage the way he could. If i were this man, I would fall on my feet, he threw himself waiting for everyone down there would hold him...bad idea...

This is a horrible accident that was kind of bound to happen somewhere. I've seen some stage diving gone wrong over the years and I look away now when I see some shit happening on stage that looks to be dangerous. When I was a kid I did a lot of dumb dagerous (fun) stuff. I feel kind of lucky for all sorts of reasons. I don't think people think enough about head injuries when they jump off a stage into a pit of strangers.

1. Jump on stage, and you deserve to be killed. Period.

2. In a "post-Dimebag world" (to use Scott "power douche" Ian's phrase), everyone is a potential Rock Star killer. If someone comes at you with a Sharpie looking for a signature, make sure you have a 9mm in your pocket trained on this "fan".

3. American's somehow aren't subject to the laws of a sovereign nation when visiting a sovereign nation, especially if said individual is a "good ol' boy".

4. Make anyone who questions this logic Public Enemy # 1 on Blabbermouth and troll hard cuz y'all gots ta make Mom proud ya hear. And dagnamit when she's gone done sitting upstairs on that there porch brushing her tooth, she can come on down to yer mancave and admire yer handywerk. Yeee Haw, I said Yeeeeeee Haaaaaaw!!!

Question; I'm assuming on his ticket it would state it is illegal to jump on stage, take photos, bla bla bla (the usual stuff) - wouldn't that protect the artist in case someone did do something like jump on the stage, therefor if they fall off or hurt themselves, the venue and artist is protected?

I gotta admit I chill in the back and just check the bands nowadays , sometimes I get near the pit but thats just to laugh at the new kids.....the old days the pit was so much fun...if someone fell, at least 5 if us would pick him up...or at least try!!

If Security is so concerned about, well, SECURITY at shows:

How come they always violently toss kids ON TOP OF the people standing in front of the stage instead of just leading them off to the side?

You'd think that a 150-200 pound flying (drunk) dude with flailing limbs could accidentally kick someone's teeth out or land one someone's skinny neck and possibly break it..?
