Four-fifths of
LAMB OF GOD — everyone except singer
Randy Blythe — returned home to Virginia last night, less than four days after
Blythe was taken into custody in Prague, Czech Republic in connection with the death of a fan more than two years ago.
LAMB OF GOD guitarist
Mark Morton wrote on
Twitter, "Finally HOME! 4/5 of us anyway. I can't wait to give
Randy a big bear hug and kiss his pointy, stubbly face! Thanx for all the support y'all! Flooded with questions about
Randy. I truly understand and appreciate [your] concern. But it would be irresponsible for me to comment on any of it. Again….thank y'all SOOOO much for your love and support during these difficult times. It means the world to us."
Blythe, who was arrested Wednesday (June 27) at the Prague airport on manslaughter charges, will reportedly be released on 4 million Czech Koruna bail (approximately $200,000 — an amount which
Randy claimed was the equivalent of his annual income). Since most banks are closed this weekend,
Blythe will be allowed to pay off his bail on Monday (July 2).
Blythe, 41, is accused of causing the fatal injury that occurred at
LAMB OF GOD's May 24, 2010 show in Prague. The singer apparently pushed a 19-year-old fan named
Daniel N. — a guitarist in a local metal band — who had come on stage, and that person died 14 days later of bleeding in the brain. A post-mortem reportedly found that he had not been drunk or under the influence of drugs.
The crime of which
Blythe is being accused is punishable by up to ten years in prison, according to popular Czech news web site
Novinky.cz.
A video report from Czech Republic's
TV Nova on yesterday's court hearing for
Blythe can be seen at
this location. The two-and-a-half-minute clip appears to contain low-quality footage of the actual incident that resulted in the fan's death (around 57-second mark).
