MYLES KENNEDY Talks ALTER BRIDGE, SLASH In New Video Interview - June 26, 2012
Holland's FaceCulture recently conducted an interview with vocalist/guitarist Myles Kennedy of ALTER BRIDGE and SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS. You can now watch the chat in four parts below.

Slash achieved his first-ever No. 1 hit at rock radio as "You're A Lie" vaults to the top spot this week at Active Rock. The explosive song is the first track from Slash's second solo album, "Apocalyptic Love", which was released May 22 and entered The Billboard 200 chart at No. 4, marking the top rock debut that week.

This news comes as Slash featuring MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORSMyles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums) and Todd Kerns (bass) — are coming off a successful European trek and getting ready to launch a summer headlining tour July 12 in Portland, Oregon. Meanwhile, on July 10, the iconic Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee will be honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

ALTER BRIDGE released a DVD, "Live At Wembley", at the end of March. The disc contains footage of one of the biggest headline shows of ALTER BRIDGE's career, which took place on November 29, 2011 at Wembley Arena in London, England. Longtime ALTER BRIDGE director Daniel E Catullo III ("Live From Amsterdam", "One By One", "Isolation", webisodes, etc.) was brought in to direct "Live At Wembley" by The Dude Films, a new production and distribution company with offices in Laguna Beach, California and Maui, Hawaii headed up by "One By One" executive producer Stuart Margolis and executive producer Chris LaBabera. Lionel Pasamonte, who produced the band's last DVD, "Live From Amsterdam", produced with Catullo.

Give it a few more spins. Personally, I think Halo and Anastasia are two of the coolest songs he's written in a long time.

This interviewer is overly tenacious. He wants Myles to justify his answers as if he is on trial. Anyone less patient would have told him to fuck off. Artists endure a lot to stay in the business.

I happen to really dig Slash's new record. Sure it doesn't sound like anything GnR did but...It's not supposed to! It's just good old Rock and Roll, lots of catchy riffs and Myles vocal hooks on top and I can't stop listening. Go in with that in mind and I'm not sure how you can't not enjoy it.

Myles IMO is the best singer in Rock right now and a great guy, down to earth, HARD worker and deserves any recognition/money/fame that comes his way. Huge fan.

Sounds like Elephant Boy doing the interview.

without bashing your opinion, its not the fact it doesn't sound like GnR that makes it good or bad. For my tastes, and the reason I find this Slash's worst release is that its overly commerical, even cheesy at times. Slash is starting to regurgitate solo's now(for lack of a better word), and alot of his riffs/solos I can hear on many of his previous releases. (one song's intro sounds just like Beggars and Hangers on, another solo is just like the solo on the Adam Levine song, etc).

but mainly, while I think Myles has a great voice, I like him, his writing is very mainstream. Almost in Nickleback territory, and his vocal style at times has that same sort of sound many of those style bands have. His chorus' seem generic to me.

that may be why some may not like it as much. To me, good old rock is more his first Snakepit record, which bordered on very heavy rock at many times. This is a more decidely commerical record. Many would say the last one too, but I find that much more creative...still love his tone though. And I like We Roam alot though.

A stupid interviewer/interview is hardly having to "endure" anything. I would have liked to tell him to fuck off as much as Id like to tell my boss/coworkers and virtually 80% of the people I see on a daily basis. Now it IS true that the music business is a really nasty business, and it is actually work to keep yourself afloat for as many years as Slash and Myles have. But dude, they get paid well and are getting to live a dream.
I think I could deal.

Well, as annoying as that interviewer was, that was probably the most in depth interview with Myles thats ever been posted to this site.

Also, with the comment about his writing being close to Nickelback territory, I have to disagree. If you're recognizing that they both have pop sensibility, then I can understand that. Lyrical content, however, is different story. Now, I really like the first two Nickelback albums, since then, their songs have mostly been sappy ballads and forced songs about "tearing up the town." Myles doesn't typically write about things like that. At least not these days. Case in point the last Alter Bridge album. The majority of that album is about coping with the loss of all the things you once believed in, and coming to terms with it. That's definitely heavier than the average Nickelback tune, and just about as far from mainstream and commercial as you can get.

agree, the lyrics of nickleback are embarassing. But Myles' hooks on this record are extremely pop/commerical. you can write about the most profound things in the universe, but if its wrapped in cheese wiz, it looses its effect.

I'm also a fan of Myles, and obviously Slash, so not trashing them, just find the CD to be disappointing, in that regard...and the single captures today's pop rock in a nut shell. THe girl that "the liar" may be from Myles past, but even if its heart felt to him, its cliche.

Myles Kennedy is more Slash's bitch than anyone currently in Guns n Roses is to Axl.

the new Slash album is f'n awesome.. the song Anastasia is up there with Guns songs.. I actually didn't like the album at first but after a few spins it grows on you. And those have always been the best albums in my opinion.

My cousin is good friends with Myles. He was taking lessons from him in Spokane. If you think he cant sing try listening to Summer Girl from his first band Mayfield Four. He holds a note that at the end you find yourself gasping for air. Great singer and awesome guitarist. Mark tremonti will be the first to tell you hes good. Slash will tell you hes good. Hes good and a hard worker.
