RUSH Frontman Presented With Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Medal - June 25, 2012
Bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee of Canadian rock legends RUSH was one of more than 600 distinguished Ontario residents who were presented with Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medals at a ceremony on June 18 at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The special medal was created to mark the 60th anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne.

The commemorative medals are being presented to distinguished Ontario residents who have already been invested with the Order Of Canada and Order Of Ontario.

RUSH's 20th studio album, "Clockwork Angels", debuted at No. 2 on last week's Billboard album chart, selling 103,000 copies in its first week of release. The disc marks RUSH's highest chart debut since 1993's "Counterparts", which also entered at No. 2. The Canadian trio has yet to land at No. 1 despite having 28 releases make the Billboard chart in the past four decades. "Clockwork Angels" also beat out the band's previous effort, 2007's "Snakes & Arrows", which sold 93,000 copies to debut at No. 3.

Still not good enough for Eddie Trunk and other Rush fans. They could win the Nobel Peace Prize, Medal of Honor, and Stanley Cup on the same day and they'd still bitch about them not being in the RNR Hall of Fame.

Absolutely agreed. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is reserved for brilliant artists who have put forth a lifetime achievement worth of classic recordings and performances spanning decades. Those bands have proven track records and have impacted the world with their ideas. Rush has no place in there whatsoever.

Oh, but Green Day, Sex Pistols, Guns N Roses...now THOSE are notable acts which are worthy of this honor!

Putz.

something that should be done with their amazing catalog of music since the early 70's. Most 'Loyal' rUSh fans would kindly admit, they never disappoint. Not just because they want to be loyal, but mostly cause their high attention to detail and quality of music has inspired many generations.
