Bassist JUAN CROUCIER Rejoins RATT For M3 ROCK FESTIVAL Performance (Video) - May 13, 2012
Original RATT bassist Juan Croucier rejoined the Californian rockers for their show at the M3 Rock Festival on Saturday, May 12 at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. Professionally filmed video footage of the entire concert can be seen below.

In an October 2011 interview with Legendary Rock Interviews, Croucier stated about the possibility of him returning to RATT, "I never say never, because I can't predict the future but there have been some very nasty things said and done to me by my former bandmates in RATT. It has destroyed the trust, bond and respect we once had among each other."

He added, "I have had many offers to go back to RATT (ironically, sometimes while they were deriding me in the press at the same time) and the main reason I have not gone back to the band is because we had a very problematic situation in the first place, and nothing had (or has) changed — we don't get along, it's not fun and things that should be easy are hard. . . Some people like being in tumultuous relationships; I don't. I have been fortunate enough to be able to work in my recording studio, still play in bands and be a father that is present in my children's lives at the same time. It's not 'all about Juan.'"

Bassist Robbie Crane, who had played with RATT since 1997, quit the band in March to focus on LYNCH MOB. During an appearance on the March 22 edition of the "Headbangers At 11" show on the 93.3 KDKB radio station with host Mike Gaube, Crane stated about his decision to leave RATT, "I've been playing in LYNCH MOB since October of 2010. It's a thing that I've always loved doing, and I love playing with the band. . I'd been with RATT for 15 years and it was time to move on. I love being in LYNCH MOB and this is where my heart's at."

"Infestation", the first studio record in 11 years from RATT, sold around 14,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 30 on the Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on April 20, 2010 via Loud & Proud.

"Infestation" was produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette (CHEVELLE, ALTER BRIDGE) at his Virginia studio, marking the first time the band has recorded outside of Los Angeles. The album is full of attitude and of reflection, cycling through a range of emotions. There are party anthems that RATT are known for alongside more contemplative, thoughtful tunes.

Who would have thought Ratt of all bands would get their shit together in 2012... 4/5 original members, obviously can't get Robin... last album was great (Infestation)...

Let's hope they can keep this together and put out an awesome follow up to Infestation.

opening song imaginable. Seriously. Out of all of the great anthems this band has recorded, they opened with that? Then they followed it up with a truly mediocre second song. Let's face it, the whole setlist sucked. Ditto the comment above about their live chemistry. Sometimes fighting fuels a band to achieve legendary greatness on stage. Other times, it makes a band sound like a train wreck. Ratt is a train wreck. Warren can still shred though.

A Ratt setlist for a show like this should look like this:

Lay It Down
Back For More
You're In Love
Body Talk
Way Cool Jr.
Slip Of The Lip
Lovin' You's A Dirty Job
Wanted Man
I Wanna Woman
Best Of Me
Nobody Rides For Free
Encore: Round & Round

HDNet was showing M3, and my friend and I caught some of it. We caught the end of Skid Row, which was pretty bad (Solinger couldn't/wouldn't hit the high notes, and Scotti Hill and to a lesser extent Sabo just looked ragged), and then had to turn off Ratt after the 3rd song. And yeah, Carlos' guitar was so out of tune, and Pearcy not only sounded bad, but looked like he didn't care. It was cool to see Juan there (or Steven Seegal); he at least looked like he was into it. Pearcy looked awful, too.

I felt kinda sad for Juan. Poor guy hadn't been in the band in YEARS, so you'd think they'd make a big deal out of him rejoining...even if it's only temporary. Pearcy hardly said anything at all in between songs and didn't even acknowledge Juan until nearly the end, when he introduced the whole band. He would've gotten roars of approval from the fans had he made a bigger deal out of it. I'm guessing there's a reason why he didn't.

For those saying the band sounded bad...maybe on TV or online, but they sounded OK in person. Pearcy can't sing, but that's nothing new.

The thing I kept thinking about was the Ratt "Behind the Music" when Blotzer and Pearcy were making fun of Juan for all his goofy stage antics. I wonder what Blotz and the other guys were thinking last night, because Juan did EVERY ONE OF THOSE MOVES again, just like it was 1987 again.

Juan just looked out of place. No one really interacted with him much. He is clearly waaaaaaaay out of shape. He even dressed like a bum. I bet this Juan reunion thing is short-lived.

This may be why Ratt always sounded terrible live. (at least back in the day)
I know a guy that worked the local arena in my city, back in the 80's.
He claimed that when Ratt came to town in like 85 and 87, that they did not bring their own sound guy, and hired a local both times. He also said he'd never seen another professional touring outfit ever do that.
I don't know what their policies are now, but that was when they had a budget.

You people! Ratt kicked Ass, that was a hell of a set list. Juan needs to drop about 50 lbs if he's going to be back in, and Pearcy kicked ass. Don Dokken on the other hand needs to walk away...he is a joke and sounds like a horrible lounge singer. The guy has too much ego to face the facts, he's washed up and killing his legacy.

For fans if 80's rock bands, which I am one, I think it's time to face facts that almost most all of those bands are living off past glories, especially live. Yes, most of them can still sound good in the studio, which is a controlled environment that always multiple takes and the producer can clip together bits, but live, which is where rock music should shine, they sound terrible. Sad really....

He sounds great on the 2nd s/t album from '99, a better album than their latest. I suspect his drinking has affected his voice more than aging, sounds kind of deep, as a post-puberty teen.

I would itake DeMartini anyday, over the douche EVH! Most likely the festival's sound syatem sucked, Ratt usually has good sound at shows, though has been close to 5 yrs for me, due to their quarrels...

As far as the setlist, you up there, perhaps you want all-radio hits, so how about Roundnround 6 times. Dangerous is one of many non-radio play great Ratt songs, except even idiots on radio wouldn't know. A radio station in my prev. area once did a Ratt hits 6-pack for lunch and what do you know? The idiots played Round n Round 6 times in a row! Talking about kcalfm (com)...perhaps the worst radio stunt ever!

Did ANY of them sound decent or put on a good show?! Jesus, even Queensryche didn't get it done, and the others I watched (don't even remember exactly who, which should tell you something) were just appalling.

I saw Ratt twice at the House of Blues in Cleveland on the last tour and they sounded great. Pearcy never sounds that good the first night or two on a tour and that festival had a crappy sound system from everyone that was there. Warren and carlos are killer guitar players, especially warren. You cant judge this by the TV sound, not a good idea. I really hope Juan stays in the band, his bass playing and backup vocals are top notch and he really brings it live and adds great energy to the band! Yeah, he needs to get in better shape, but i'm sure he will for the tour after the new record comes out. Ratt's last album Infestigate was awesome! It blew out Motley's last album and Dokkens also. I'm looking forward to their new album and tour! Ratt -N- Roll!!!

Ya know Ratt has been a band I always wanted to add to my list of concerts attended and with an almost original line-up ( you are missed KING ) I got pretty jazzed about it....until. I know S.P. is not known for his sweet sounding live vocals, but CRIPES! I couldn't even listen for more than a few words....I was like Embarrased for them! ( and I really like this band! ) I liked that Juan was back, but at the same time, he didn't look too good...kinda like they called out of bed 10 mins before the show! Well I do hope he sticks around to try again after they do a few rehearsals first

cheers!
