IRON MAIDEN Announces 'Maiden England' North American Tour - Feb. 15, 2012
Following the massively successful "Final Frontier World Tour 2010-11", IRON MAIDEN are back on the road this summer with a series of arena, amphitheatre and festival shows in the USA and Canada, opening in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 21 and finishing in Houston, Texas on August 18 (dates listed below), to be followed by further dates around the world in 2013. The "Maiden England World Tour" will closely mirror, in terms of production and content, the original 1988 concert video of the same name, shot on the "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son Tour". This opening section of the world tour is the band's most extensive visit to North America for many years and includes a number of cities the band have not played in a very long time, such as Charlotte, Atlanta, Buffalo, Indianapolis and Salt Lake City.

In most venues, tickets will go on sale on March 2 and March 3 but watch the band's official site or check local venue information for fuller details. Fan-club members should check out ironmaiden.com for exclusive first day ticket presales and contest to be "First To The Barrier."

"Maiden England" marks the third chapter in the history of IRON MAIDEN, a journey which began in 2004 with "The Early Days" DVD and subsequent 2005 "Early Days Tour". Part two followed in 2008 with the "Live After Death" DVD — the seminal 1984 concert recorded at Long Beach Arena in California during the "World Slavery Tour" — and the band embarking on their groundbreaking "Somewhere Back In Time World Tour 2008/9", which saw them play to over two million fans in almost 40 countries.

Comments vocalist Bruce Dickinson: "We have great fun playing the history of MAIDEN tours because it gives us an opportunity between new albums to go out and play songs from our earlier catalogue. It's always fantastic seeing the crowd reaction from a new generation of fans who have never experienced some of these tracks performed live before, and of course we know our longstanding fans will enjoy seeing the original 'Seventh Son Tour' revisited — with many other surprises! Our intention is to play about two thirds of the original track list of 'Maiden England', including some songs we have not played live in a very, very long time, plus other favourites we just know the fans are going to want to hear! We always try to give our fans a great show musically, but we have always tried to make it as entertaining and memorable an experience as we can visually. And we all feel this show is going to do that splendidly! We can't wait to get started in Charlotte."

IRON MAIDEN are delighted to announce that the extraordinary and legendary ALICE COOPER will be their very special guest on all shows up to July 21. After that date, special guest will be COHEED AND CAMBRIA, the inspiring, cutting-edge band from New York.

IRON MAIDEN continue to be actively dedicated to ensuring their fans always have full access to the best possible tickets in the fairest possible way. Manager Rod Smallwood comments: "We are trying to ensure that our fans get the tickets they want in the prime positions without paying over the odds to ticket scalpers. MAIDEN get infuriated with the way fans sometimes have to pay more than the ticket price to get good positions at our shows. So we will, wherever possible (festivals excluded), with the assistance of the promoters, arrange a paperless ticketing system at least for the front sections to try to eliminate as much of the ticket scalping and exchanges as we can. We put this into practice on our North American tour in 2010; it worked well and we received many positive comments back from our fans, so we intend to increase this where feasible. With paperless ticketing, only those who actually pay initially for the tickets will get into the show so scalping is generally avoided. We are also doing everything we can to avoid any drain of prime tickets going to the secondary ticketing sites which we feel make unfair profits from music fans.

"As we consider all our fans to be VIPs, no tickets will be held specifically for VIP use. At some venues, the promoter may provide the option for fans to pay extra for 'VIP parking,' early access, access to 'VIP bar' etc. But these will be purely optional for ticket holders only and will not be tied to ticket locations — the ability to get the best tickets should be the same for everybody outside of the usual presales.

"Finally, we are, of course, once again arranging exclusive ticket pre-sales for our fan club members so they can be quick off the mark for great tickets and will also continue to run the contest in appropriate venues for fan club members so they can be 'First To The Barrier' prior to the show. We hope that these measures will help our fans as much as possible and ask that they keep checking for details on our web site."

Ticketmaster comments: "Where possible the North American IRON MAIDEN shows will operate a paperless ticket policy. Select tickets will be sold via Ticketmaster's Paperless Ticket delivery, which means fans will not receive a physical concert ticket for their entry into the event. Buying paperless helps ensure fans have secure and convenient access to event tickets at the intended original sale price. On the day of show, concert goers just need to bring the credit card they used for the ticket purchase and a government-issued photo ID to the concert. All members of the ticket purchaser's party must be present at the same time to enter the venue. The venue's ticket usher will swipe their credit card upon entry and present each person in their party with seat locator slips for quick access into the show. To purchase paperless tickets or for more information, fans should visit www.ticketmaster.com/paperless or call the Ticketmaster charge-by-phone number at 1-800-745-3000."

Glad to see we've got a MA date! It's been their pattern on their last few tours that they don't hit the Boston area on the initial album tour but they usually always do on the follow up swing.

Aside from a very few typical northeast dates, it's a slice of canada and basically the mid-west/southwest.

Nowhere remotely close to Pittsburgh or Cleveland.

Lame, guys. Quit fucking over the US fans.

Shitty venue, but damnit - it's IRON MAIDEN!! Of course I will be there. Bummer that Alice Cooper will not open that show. Odd - the article states Alice will open shows until July 21st - there is no show on the 21st....?

Oh...fuck paperless tickets. I collect ticket stubs. I'm sure lot's of other folks do as well.

Theventhonofatheventhon!

The title/chorus sure is a tongue twister and Bruce did struggle with it, as can be witnessed on the VHS. We shall see whether the band will slow it down a tad or whether the audience will be prompted to sing the chorus on its own. - A joy to hear it will be in any case!

...but I was definitely not crazy about this album (SSOASS)...the last good / great album they did was SIT (my opinion).

It had some good songs (Clairvoyant, Prophecy, Moonchild). But I must say "Can I Play With Madness" is the worst POS I think they ever recorded.

Having said that, I love Maiden and would really dig it if they re-released that concert on dvd.

If you would read you would know that that is only 2/3rd of the setlist for this tour. Sounds like you have A.DD. you couldnt even spend the few minutes to read the whole article.

Seventh Son is one of my favorite albums and I'm looking forward to hearing some of those old songs. However, I'm getting kinda tired of Maiden doing all these special tours with special sets. Anyone have the "Rock in Rio" or "Death on the Road" DVD? Why can't they go back to playing songs that span their entire career and not just focus on one time period?

Maiden have been for years doing these tours and personally I love it!!!! I can now die a happy fan.. Listen lets face it, Maiden are not getting any younger so this will prob be the last classic tour then a new studio albm for 2013. ....then who knows after that??

Maiden had earned the right to do whatever the fuck they want! Stop complaining and be happy about this awesome news. Die with your boots SSOASS and Still Life would be worth the cost alone.

My fingers are crossed for ATG to be 1 of the "surprises"!

There's a certain video on Youtube I recommend you should watch. It's a video of Bruce Dickinson at a Maiden show, ripping up a sign that someone wrote which says "play classics." Yeah, fuck you.

Badass. Too bad no Ohio show. Hopefully they play all of the songs from Maiden England. Would like to see Still Life and The Prisoner played live. What an amazing set list.

hell yeah! Killers is a great song & i've been wishing they'd play that instead of wrathchild.

i saw this tour back in 88 & it was an awesome show & setlist. but i can't remember if i saw this show in chicago or wisconsin. i'm thinking it was at alpine valley in wisc. but i'll be going to chicago to see this one. and to have AC opening up is incredible!!! i hope they keep that setlist in tact & just add a couple of songs. there's absoutely nothing wrong with it.

Visit to the Oldschool Dayz!!!

I have seen the best of the fucking best with Maiden back in the 80s and over the years, and have to say that this is a smart move to get the young ones that were not even born yet to spend that lawn mowing $$ to hail the day!!

Yep!You young ones will never have the real deal of the insane fresh ass kicking 80s metal so enjoy what you fucking can!

Ya know, its sad that the bands of the last decade or two suck ass!!
HELL.....!
No bands will ever come close to the OLDSCHOOL!!

See you Maiden Vets in that pit or on that fucking rail!!!
Show em how its done boys! Hahahaha!!

I'll just have to see about it, but if you are going, you are going to LOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

oh, and re-release the SSon DVD, I've been wanting that since I had the tape (VCR) from the '88 shows, which I used to watch all of the fk'g time.

Does that mean an album isn't too far off after this tour, maybe even in the works......

hmmmm.

that's great they go back to Charlotte, ATL, Salt Lake, ect... but no St. Louis again? What a shitty market. This set looks good if they're sticking close to it.... Would of killed to see the Somewhere Back in Time tour. Powerslave is my fave Maiden album. Somewere in Time is right up there too... The one Ozzfest that didn't come to STL was 05 when Maiden did the Early Years tour. We got fucked again.

Has anyone noticed when a Maiden thread pops ups, that we all put aside our differences and come together like old friends. Maiden could be the cure for depression.

Awesome news!

Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, Still Life, Infinite Dreams and The Prisoner are the most important songs of that setlist. If they don't bring this show to Europe, I hope they'll release a DVD/Blu-Ray.

Damn, really wish that they would be playing close to Virginia since no huge band like Maiden ever comes here. Hopefully I'll get to see them like in Washington DC or some shit but glad that Maiden is finally touring the USA again.

OMG Bruce rips up a sign????? No way!!!!

...and your point is??! I've seen this clip. This was during the AMOLAD tour and he was tired of all the douche bags that just stand there with their arms crossed during the whole show who are only happy to hear run to the hills trooper and NotB for the 500,000 time!

Sure they could mix it up a little but like I said Maiden at this pt.can do whatever the fuck they want. Since they played the entire AMOLAD album live on that tour and got that outta their system how the fuck can anyone complain now that since 2008 up to now we have 2 classic tours.

You should also read in the Rock Hard mag. and other interviews that Bruce
has clearly said that tour was a decision that steve made to play the whole new album but they enjoy doing the classic tours as well cos there is whole new generation of FANS who have never seen them or were not even born yet during this time

Very excited, Maiden is my favorite band, and Alice is my second favorite. I'm doing 8 shows this year; Charlotte, Boston, Jones Beach, Camden, DC, Toronto, Sarnia, Darien Lake. It's gonna be great to see some songs I haven't seen the band do yet; Infinite Dreams, SSOASS, The Prisoner, etc. This will bring my total number of Maiden shows to 25, and Alice shows to 23. Gonna be saving up to travel for some 2013 shows too!

This is very welcomed news... I have always wanted to see the 7th Son tour.. The only tour I missed since '82. Anyway, to all the people that complain that they want "oldies", here is YET ANOTHER opportunity. tO THOSE WHO SAY>>>"Why do they play there new stuff so much?" and "Why cant they play this song or that song?" This is your 3rd chance in ten years to see a show based on older material... So to you whiners I say, Remove head from ass, go see the show, and be grateful that the band is still around. Prior to 2000, this band was about to closeup shop, and now they are bigger than ever. APPRECIATE IT!!!!
