RATT Hoping To Release New Album This Summer - Jan. 27, 2012
According to a posting on RATT singer Stephen Pearcy's Facebook page, the band is continuing to write material for its new album, tentatively due this summer. Before then, "there could be a few surprise shows," he says.

"Infestation", the first studio record in 11 years from RATT, sold around 14,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 30 on the Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on April 20, 2010 via Loud & Proud.

"Infestation" was produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette (CHEVELLE, ALTER BRIDGE) at his Virginia studio, marking the first time the band has recorded outside of Los Angeles. The album is full of attitude and of reflection, cycling through a range of emotions. There are party anthems that RATT are known for alongside more contemplative, thoughtful tunes.

It's hard to take these guys seriously with all the drama. I miss the old days when I didn't know anything about the band besides what I saw on MTV, read in Circus magazine or saw at a concert.

All that aside, the last album was a pleasant surprise. Let's hope this one is as good.

I had forgotten about Circus. That was a great mag back in the day. Used to be able to get it for $12 a year in the mail. Then one day it turned into a Grunge and video game review magazine so I said Goodbye!

It wouldn't hurt these guys to hook back up with Michael "Elvis" Baskette. He did a great job producing Infestation, and also with Alter Bridge. I just can't wait to hear Warren and Carlos shred. Putting Carlos in the band was a very solid move for these guys.

Good news. Now perhaps they can get it together and tour the last fucking album, which was really good.

Infestation was fantastic...hopefully they can continue the trend.
Also, it was one of the best mastered CD's in years...loud but totally undistorted.

I hadn't bought a RATT cd in two decades. Then Infestation was fantastic. I hope that a new one is as good as that one. It does look to be a good year for music.
