IRON MAIDEN: Around The World In 66 Days - Nov. 2, 2010
IRON MAIDEN, with their crew and many tons of equipment, will once again be boarding Ed Force One in February 2011 to fly 50,000 miles round the globe on their continuing mammoth "The Final Frontier World Tour", playing 29 shows and visiting 26 cities in thirteen countries across five continents with singer Bruce Dickinson again in the pilot's seat, and heading into more new frontiers of uncharted MAIDEN territory!!!

The first show will be on February 11 in Moscow's Olympic Stadium, after which the Boeing 757, which will have new designs to tie in with the new album and tour, will fly the band to Singapore and Indonesia for MAIDEN's first-ever shows there, before arriving in Australia to headline two arena dates and five Soundwave Festivals. Ed Force One then turns its attention briefly to the Northern hemisphere with a first show ever in South Korea and two shows in Tokyo, before heading all the way across the Pacific, a journey which (believe it or not!) is 6660 miles for two shows in Mexico. An extensive series of stadium shows through five South American countries follows, including a first visit to Belem, Northern Brazil, and, via Puerto Rico, the band will play the final show on this leg of the tour in Tampa, Florida, USA on April 17, exactly 66 days after Moscow!

Says Bruce, "We were taken aback by the fantastic reaction from everyone to Ed Force One during the 2008/09 world tour. As our fans all know from the 'Flight 666' film, which documented the trials and tribulations we underwent in order to get the whole project literally off the ground, the end result was well worth all the effort and complex logistics we had to deal with! The band and crew enjoyed themselves so much travelling that way, it seemed only logical to set up this part of 'The Final Frontier' tour in the same way so we could get to see as many fans as possible all over the world, only this time we're pushing the boundaries even further and going to more places MAIDEN has never been before... in true frontier style!! We very much look forward to playing in Singapore, Indonesia and South Korea for the first time, as well as revisiting our fans everywhere else.

"The set list will be different to this year's tour. Of course we will play more songs from the new album and some other recent material, but we will include a healthy dose of older fan favourites as we will be playing to so many new faces who we know will want to hear those songs live for the first time. We will cram into the plane as much of the production we used this year as is physically possible, including of course Eddie, and intend to replicate the spectacular light show in as many places as we are able. All in all it promises to be a fantastic trip for everyone!! So see you all soon."

Since its release in August on EMI (UME in the US), "The Final Frontier" — the band's 15th studio album — has proved their most successful chart album to date, registering the No. 1 sales chart slot in 28 countries around the globe; from Lebanon, Arabia and India in the East, to Canada in the West, New Zealand down South, throughout Europe and across Latin America, as well as reaching No.1 in Billboard's European, Tastemaker and Rock charts, and No. 4 in the USA, which is the band's highest position ever there.

Having already played an extensive 25 date North American Tour and some selected European shows this year, MAIDEN will undertake a full European tour in the summer of 2011. Some dates (as below) have already been announced but keep an eye on this site over the next few weeks and months for many more announcements.

Fucking disappointed there's no UK tour!
Also have a few mates in India who're really pissed that Maiden didn't pick their country, considering they got a crowd of about 45,000 the last time they played there.

Love the new picture though!

Wait...check that list again.

TWO SHOWS in Florida, squeezed into all of those international dates.

That's really odd.

Fuck, man...I almost want to fly to Florida to catch one of those shows. Hell, it'll be April anyway...almost springtime, after a long-ass Northeast winter.

I may seriously do this.

Well, they did just play the Bank Atlantic Center last year (first S. FL appearance in 13 years), so it hasn't really been that long, shockingly enough

India is missing and doesn't make any sense. And what about the UK? Sonisphere was fine but they didn't perform from the new album then.

You're high.

Sorry. TFF is the worst Maiden record since Virtual XI. This is coming from a completely dedicated fan to the point of practically going broke keeping up w/ the vast Maiden collection over the years & getting my ass to as many shows as possible when they're in the states....
I've tried and tried to get into the new record and just cannot get there... sure there's a few good tracks, but I've decided to just leave it alone at this point and accept that this record just isn't for my ears. Maybe in a few years a re-visit will be in order, but for now... the new record blows, dude. My opinion.

That said... Maiden STILL reigns supreme and always will.

Up The Irons!

Wow, I think TFF is definitely the best of the reunion albums, way better than anything they did with Blaze, and probably even better than Fear of the Dark and No Prayer.

Best album since Seventh Son? Yeah, I could make the case.

For your ears, and apparently many other people's ears, that analysis rings true. I've read all the reviews and seen all of the posts from fans spewing nothing but love for this record.
Believe me, it PAINS me to no end that I feel this way about TFF. I seriously have had bouts of "Am I out of my goddamn mind?" goin' on. For me, Maiden has always been more than just music. It's a feeling. Maiden FEELS like Maiden and it's something that can't easily be put to words, but you all as fans I'm sure have a good idea of what I'm talking about. For me TFF misses that mark.
The Blaze years were tough going and at that time I'd also felt that the Maiden feel was waning. However, looking back now it was a period of rebirth for the band that really needed to happen for the post reunion material to be so damn good.
While the albums you mentioned, FOTD and NPFTD were not on par w/ their predecessors (especially FOTD)... they still really felt like Maiden. This new record does not. Not to me at least.

Shit man I'd like to knock a case back with you and discuss Maiden sometime. With our friendly opposing views & knowledge of the band, we could write a book for fucksake LOL

i have been a maiden fan for just over 30 years, okay kiddies, lesson number one, the first 5 albums are supreme, the ones after, good. Blaze years, rough times, but a few good tracks there. Brave New world=great come back record!!!! Dance of Death, disappointing, but not a bust, Matter of life and Death=great concept record!!! (My personal fave since BNW). The Final Frontier, although musically supreme, lyrically all cheese....lesson 2, when you've been a fan of the band this long, you can tell when their heart is into it, and on this release it was on vacation!!!! Dianno's 2 albums with Maiden are 10 times better than 'Final' !!!!

OK, here's real fer ya:Your 30 year fandom doesn't make your opinion any more relevant that anyone else's. You have about 4 years on me, big deal. And about your opinion:bzzzzzzz (cue Price is Right loser music).TFF is a modern masterpiece, best since the 80's. But feel free to disagree, even though you'd be wrong.

I became a fan when I heard Killers played in its entirety on the radio the week it came out ( Radio was cool back then ).
They have been my favorite band of all time, any genre, since that moment.
I think the Final Frontier is excellent.
The best they have done since Brave New World.
Both are better than No Prayer For The Dying and Fear Of The Dark.
My personal ALL TIME FAVE is Powerslave.
On a different subject, I seen Maiden 4 times in the 1980s.
I have seen them 3 times in the last 10 years.
They are a much better live band now than in the 80s.
UP THE IRONS ! ! ! ! ! !

The new album sounds better than the previous album. Still not a fan of Kevin Shirley producing their albums. The crystal clear albums by Martin Birch are sorely missed. Some good songs and some bad on FF. I wish they would stop overusing the slow buildup on their songs. It's getting a little old

But I am very excited about the FL dates. Especially the Tampa date. They haven't been here in a very long time. Hopefully this will start a tradition where they play here on every tour.

TFF is Maiden's best album since Seventh Son in my opinion. The songs are so fucking strong and well played but fucking Shirley totally ruined it with the production. Does that dude mix albums with earplugs in? They always sound flat and lifeless.

As always, Maiden hates the Southeastern US except Florida but that's probably so Nicko can use the shitter at his house!
