IN FLAMES, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE To Team Up For Canadian Tour - June 20, 2009
IN FLAMES and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will team up for a co-headlining tour of Canada in Sepember. Support on the trek will come from PROTEST THE HERO and BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME.

The dates are as follows:

Sep. 08 - Montreal, QC - CEPSUM – University of Montreal
Sep. 09 - Toronto, ON - Arrow Hall
Sep. 11 - Thunder Bay, ON - Community Auditorium
Sep. 12 - Winnipeg, MB - Convention Centre
Sep. 13 - Saskatoon, SK - Prairieland
Sep. 14 - Calgary, AB - Big 4 Building at Calgary Stampede
Sep. 15 - Edmonton, AB - Shaw Conference Centre
Sep. 17 - Vancouver, BC - Pacific Coliseum

IN FLAMES is continuing to tour without guitarist Jesper Strömblad, who recently checked himself into a rehabilitation clinic in order to receive treatment for his alcohol addiction. On this tour, Niclas Engelin from the Swedish band ENGEL is filling in on guitar. Niclas has helped IN FLAMES on a couple of occasions in the past and is no stranger to the band's songs or the touring life.

The group previously said in a statement: "Jesper has struggled for some time with alcoholic abuse, and decided to sit this [tour] out in order to seek help and focus on rehabilitation and all that comes with it. We all talked about it and together with Jesper, we chose to ask our longtime friend Niclas Engelin, who helped us before, to complete the tour. We are all sad that it needed to come to this, but health comes first. This is something Jesper needed to do for himself and we wish Jesper all the best with his recovery and hope to have him back on the road with us again very, very soon!"

IN FLAMES' latest video, "Delight and Angers", was once again directed and produced by Patric Ullaeus (DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL) of Revolver Film Company, who has helmed a number of IN FLAMES clips in the past, including "Take This Life", "My Sweet Shadow", "The Quiet Place" and "Alias".

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's self-titled fourth album is scheduled for release on June 30 via Roadrunner Records.

"This album will be the death of me," vocalist Howard Jones recently told RollingStone.com. "There was nothing comfortable about it for any of us," he said of making the record, most of which took place in Atlanta under the watchful eye of superproducer Brendan O'Brien (BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, AC/DC, PEARL JAM), marking the first time KILLSWITCH guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz has stepped aside for an outside producer.

"We're known for being a pretty positive band — we're almost a self-help band," Jones said. "I feel like Tony Robbins or something. We're known for anthems, but this time I really tried to write from a different place. I've got enough to draw on to write some stuff that can be dark. Maybe there's still a hint of positivity in it, but there are some songs on there that are not positive at all."

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will spend the summer touring as a main-stage attraction on the second annual Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.

Great fucking news.

I have only seen In Flames once and Killswitch twice...so I'm looking forward to this show. I don't care one iota about BTBAM or Protest The Hero.

Cepsum is an awesome venue with great sound as well.

are you serious? Cepsum is the worst venue in montreal. The torn down site of the spectrum has better sound than cepsum.

Wrong.

I saw Mastodon at Spectrum and the sound was definitely good.

I only saw one show at Cepsum and that was the Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Municipal Waste, As I Lay Dying, God Forbid show in April. The sound was great. People at the show were telling me that it was designed for good sound. Why do you think the roof looks the way it does??

Also...no matter where you are at that venue....you will have a good view.

I still prefer Medley and Metropolis though.

I might go to the Vancouver show depending on how poor I am by September. I went to Gigantour and Iron Maiden in past years at Pacific Coliseum and I didn't think the sound was very good. Is this normal for the venue?

AS FOR THE TOUR ITSELF, I cannot fucking wait for this. I don't care what my Tr00 friends think of these bands but my heart just skipped a beat. I've already been to the two other "Shows of my lifetime" in ProgNation1 (Dream Theater, Opeth, Three, Between the Buried and Me) and the Death Magnetic tour (Metallica, Lamb of God and The Sword) so now, this completes the "Good things come in threes" saying!

Im not a huge In Flames fan but seeing them twice convinced me enough to buy a few of thier records. I have ALWAYS been a mega KsE fan no matter how Nu or 'Core they are. Protest the Hero are amazing on CD so im looking forward to seeing them live and Betwwen the Buried and Me's "Colors" album is one of the single most greatest things ever recorded onto a plastic disc.

Suffice to say.....IM STOKED!

Hey Megaforce, yeah....the sound is always like that in that shit hole. But hey, if you got floor tickets than it does get a bit better.

I have been to medley, but not for a concert. haven't been to metropolis. went to the no fear tour at cepsum and I wasn't that impressed with the sound for as i lay dying and children of bodom, but god forbid and lamb of god seemed to have good sound. not a big fan of municipal waste and their music tends to be jumbled in such a big venue, so it's hard for me to judge/care.

I've already seen all these bands live but Jesus Shit that is a good lineup. I love all those bands and I love going to Montreal so happy birthday to me come September. WOOHOO!

Metropolis is one of the best venues I've been to next to the Commodore in Vancouver and 013 in Tilburg in the Netherlands. I'm interested to see how this venue choice turns out.

I went to see also the No Fear tour at the CEPSUm, and the sound wasn't so good. I prefer by far the Medley (In Flames were there back in November, awesome show BTW).

But the CEPSUM is great for the position of the scene...

Between the Buried and Me slay all those bands, too bad they aren't headlining.

CEPSUM is just ok for sound quality. But they are complete shit when it comes to organization. They don't have someone outside before the doors open so everyone just forms a big clump in front of the doors so the people who show up hours ahead of time get cut by the dumbasses who show up ten minutes before the doors open. Then if you have will call they dont let you pick them up until the doors open.... So they dont't have their shit together at that dump. Metropolis and Medley are the way to go.
